"My husband is in British Home right now. He is in a double room, but it's very nice. For the most part, the staff is 90% terrific. He's trying to do some physical therapy. He's got COPD, and he is having a hard time, and they're trying to get things figured out for him. He really enjoys when they bring music around. They have music on Friday and Sunday. He is a former musician, and he likes the things that they have. He can't really do some of the things, as he's got some cognitive problems. The dining area is very nice. You're able to sit out and talk with the people if you wish and it's very pleasant. "

"My wife was at Victory Lakes for her rehab but she passed away last April. The food was fine. The service was excellent. She got to know most of the people there and they took expert care of her. They were very attentive to her to meet her needs. It was just a very pleasant experience. "

"I am WELL acquainted with this facility!! My husband lived there for THREE years and I visited almost EVERY day!! I can state without reservations that this is one of the top nursing homes in the state of Illinois. The nursing and CNA staff are all front-line-warriors when it comes to their devotion, loving care, excellent skills, accurate diligence and great patience. The administration is very responsive to resident and family needs. The food is very good and attractively presented.. The activities personnel are very devoted to providing mentally stimulating activities for the residents drawing out of their own years of service to the seniors there in the facility. The facility itself has recently been remodeled and upgraded making it a pleasure to see. I have visited several other nursing homes across the communities just north of Chicago and this is the ONLY one I would recommend. "

"I came to Whitehall of Deerfield after spending 11 days in the ICU at a nearby hospital. Whitehall was recommended by a few people close to me and I chose this place because of that. I couldn't have made a better decision as this place has gone above and beyond taking care of all my healthcare needs. I have been here for nearly a month and not only have I been healing physically but with Whitehall's assistance mentally as well. This is in no small part to the continuous care that I have been provided. They have house doctors on call, day and night attentive nursing care, plus CNA's covering all my basic needs around the clock. On top of this I see a countless number of therapists: physical, occupational, speech, respiratory, and wound care. Coupled with all this is their full-service kitchen including a dietician maintaining my now healthy eating habits while also providing recommendations for when I return home shortly. From being bed bound and physically unable to walk to now just about ready to walk out the door Whitehall of Deerfield has been a saving grace for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Whitehall in no small part to the extraordinary general and personalized care offered to me. What more can I say but emphatically praise the entire staff at Whitehall of Deerfield and give this place a solid 5 stars. I could not have made a better choice and one that has provided me a solid road to complete recovery and a new outlook and lease on life."

"My mother stayed here after knee surgery and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive to her needs. The facility offer many amenities and the food was phenomenal. The white glove service topped it all off. "

"This facility is part of a corporate chain and this particular building is relatively new, meaning less than 15 years old. It is set in a busy area next to a restaurant and right off the highway. The highway allows convenient communting but the setting limits available outdoor space. There are some outdoor sitting areas that residents and families use but it it difficult to 'go for a walk'. The common areas are spacious and tastefully decorated providing multiple options for relaxing and visiting. The resident rooms are fairly typical in size, perhaps a bit larger than average. Some private rooms are available though most are shared. All rooms are tastefully furnished. The food is average to above average with most meals appearing appetizing. The staffing is average with adequate number of staff available most of the time. Care rendered is kind, patient and compassionate. "

"My father was transfered here from Glenview Terrance where due to neglect he developed stage two bed sores. The difference in care is night and day! My only regret was that we didn't start my father's rehab here! The nurses are incredible. My father has many needs as he can't feed himself, talk or move. It takes an aid at least a half an hour to feed him. He needs two people to get him in and out of his bed and wheel chair. He has incontinence and must be changed regularly. His aids and nurses are on top of all his needs. They proactively attend to every issue. The sores caused by Glenview Terrace are finally being treated properly! I finally can visit my father and spend time with him, instead of worrying and chasing after people to change him, move him, feed him, or give him therapy. I have loved everyone here. The place is spotless , bright and equipped with the latest equipment. My only regret is not having started my father here. "

"My mother went to Glenview Terrace after hospitalization. I have everything positive and no negatives whatsoever to recommend Glenview Terrace: caring staff, a lot of attention, communication with us as a family, and part of the caregiving team. All of the staff we interacted with were always caring, well informed, professional, went above and beyond in their efforts to help us, particularly during the trials as a result of being separated from our mom as a result of the COVID restrictions. They were one of the first in the state to get all of their residents and staff immunized with vaccines against COVID. As a result of that, two weeks ago they were able to open up for limited face-to-face visitation, with all kinds of precautions in place. My mom was happy there, the care that she received was immediate, and responsive, and caring. The activities director was a sweet, young man that my mom said we were going to adopt in our family. The rehab services that she received brought her a long way during the time that she was there. They were able to get her back up and walking with assistance. Her personal care needs were well met. However, she died recently."

"As you go into Citadel of Northbrook, it is an attractive and inviting place. Inside, it is very clean and very orderly. My husband was well taken care of physically. They were attentive to everything he needed. The room he had was quite nice. It had big windows. There were windows on the side. I was there every single day. There might have been one or two days in five weeks that I wasn't there. He was prescribed a couple of different medicines that I didn't know about. Nobody talked to me about it. As we were leaving, they said, "Oh, this was for diabetes, and here is another one for depression." Yes, he has diabetes, but they didn't talk to me about it. I thought that they should have explained it to me. The one for depression was OK. I knew we were going to do that. However, I asked three times for the psychiatrist to talk to me, and they never did."

"The nurses are all very helpful! I feel that my grandpa is safe, and they are able to administer his pain medicine consistently to keep him normal throughout the day. "

"The stars are for the cleanliness, nurses, and CNA’s. Rehab therapists get 5 stars. They are terrific! The room is nice too...very cozy. OK, now for the food...that is a 1*! The food is horrible and so are the drinks. Shasta, diet lemonade, and INSTANT COFFEE -no brewed coffee. Cookies taste like cardboard. Food has no flavor. Be prepared to bring in your food and drinks!"
