"My wife was one of the early residents of Legacy Court, the Memory Care Unit of NSP. Her parents experiences with a similar facility in Oklahoma, and my Mother"s in Ohio, leaves me confident that one would be hard pressed to find a better place for a loved one. I make myself available to talk with anyone who is considering Legacy Court. I invariably am asked what I like, what I think, etc. The easiest answer is that in light of all the other facilities out there, we are still here after 2 and a half years! My wife is well cared for, including her unique needs. She feels secure, loved and warm. And I feel secure in knowing that she is well cared for. The Director of Memory Care is a very special person who has made herself available from Day one, She saved my life during my very difficult first six months. Dementia is a very hard road to travel, but having a "home" where your "other family" truly cares makes it a little less bumpy. Come visit. "

"My father was at Radford Green. I thought it was very good. We did not have any complaints. I thought the level of care was good. He was always well taken care of. He was fed, dressed, and cleaned well. He was only there for seven days. They had very nice, beautiful, well-appointed rooms. The food was very good. There were lots of things on the menu, and you could even eat in your room or the dining room. The kitchen had 24-hour availability, so family members could just walk to the kitchen area and get any snacks, cold drinks, or anything else for their loved ones. My father did some therapy, walking, and exercises. "

"My parents are enjoying Sedgebrook. They were very concerned about moving into a new home with a bunch of "Old People" until they realized there were people younger than them there. The food is very good and the activities are excellent. My dad is now complaining that it is hard to keep track of his schedule because he is very busy."

"I'm in Inspirations of Northbrook. I like them. It felt very welcoming when I walked through the door, which I didn't feel in any of the others, and so I decided to move here. The others felt cold and institutional. When I went here, I immediately felt warmth, and I felt this was the place, even before I saw the apartment. I took a studio because the one- and two-bedrooms are really expensive. The studio is expensive as it is. The people are very kind. They will put things together for me. They hang things on the wall. The maintenance people are very good. They're always right there, pleasant and wanting to help you. I was independent, but right now, after breaking my ankle, I'm assisted. I am on an assisted living floor. I'm going to have to have help for a while, but I can wheel myself down to the dining room if I want, or I can have my meals delivered to my room. The food isn't great, but it's not bad. The servers are very nice. We have a wine night every Wednesday. They're warm and caring. Everybody there has a smile on their face. "What else can we do for you? What else do you need?" That's everything when you're not living at home. There are a lot of activities. The schedule changes every week in terms of what activities you have. They have a movie night, get-togethers, outings, and they'll go to the grocery store. They've gone up to Lake Geneva. They plan for certain restaurants that a big party of wheelchairs and walkers will come in. They've gone to Yen Yen for Chinese, which I really like. You sign up for those events, and then the van takes you, picks you up, and takes you back. Because I'm on the assisted living floor, it doesn't have a regular oven. There are no burners. I bought a Black & Decker baker broiler, and it works for me. The kitchen has enough cabinets. I don't have a regular-size refrigerator, but other studios do. This one just happened to have a small refrigerator, like you would find in a motor home. It's fine because I don't have that much. They provide everything in terms of food. I do not go down for breakfast. I rarely go down to lunch. I go down for dinner. They have a very nice Sunday brunch. They have Shabbat services every Friday afternoon for those who are Jewish. They have other services, so they're pretty nice in what they offer. There's also an alternate menu, so you don't have to eat what they're going to give you. You can order something else if you want. It works really well. The residents here are all very nice. Everybody I've said hi to always says hi back. "How are you?" They always respond. There's a woman here who is a pianist in a wheelchair, and I will always go up to her and give her a kiss because she's a wonderful woman, and she loves my red hair. Most of the people here are really warm and very nice. We talk to each other. My dinner companions are very nice. I've nothing really bad to say about them. They have a physical therapy department. They have an actual registered licensed physical therapist there. They have standing bikes on the first floor. They have everything. The grounds are really nice. The van will take you grocery shopping if you want. They take you to your medical appointments. They take you to the hospital. They take you wherever you want to go medically. I don't really participate in the activities, but they have a men's night. They have activities, outings, and movie nights. I think they're more on the expensive side, but you're also paying for meals. I signed up for two a day, but you can have one a day. Their desserts are fabulous and ice cream is absolutely wonderful. Their pastries are really good. Based on the quality, the services, the size of the apartment, the one- and two-bedrooms are really large, and they're pet friendly, I think for the value, it's really nice."

"My aunt and uncle shared a room in the nusing unit of the health care wing for two years. The staff was very caring and engaging. They encouraged them to join activities; and several family day social events were held during the year. The rooms were very clean, but needed updating. We chose this facility because it is run by the Franciscan Sisters and is part of the Catholic Archdioses. Mass was held every Sunday morning in the chapel, and is also televised. Overall, I was very happy with the staff and got to know many of them. Anytime I had a concern about my aunt or uncle, the head nurse and nurse on duty would address it immediately. "

"I toured Sunrise of Buffalo Grove for my father, but it was too expensive. It was a great place. It was very clean. We liked the management and the dining room service. They had transportation for the residents. The building had a very nice layout. The rooms were beautiful. The dining room was beautiful. The staff was very friendly, professional, and willing to help you out as much as they can. They tried to make the place affordable for us, but we just couldn't meet their price."

"My husband moved into Belmont Village Buffalo Grove. The facility is clean. Everybody's helpful. They are very gentle with my husband. They're taking good care of him. I listen to what they have to say. They asked me to come in the room to look at my husband, and I'll come in the room as soon as I can. They're very busy. One day, some of the food was cold. They show a movie after dinner. They have reading, entertainment, movie nights, exercises, and mind games. Their price is a little bit high. You can take the residents out, and you can walk them around. There's a lot of room. There are chairs and benches. It was pretty nice on the outside."

"My father-in-law is here now. It just works out well. They have a memory care center that my mother-in-law could go into and then assisted living for my father-in-law, so it's just a good fit for them. My father-in-law seems to be happy. We can't visit him but everything is going well. He really likes the food. It's been really good. I think my father-in-law is very happy with the staff."

"I felt that the employees were hardworking individuals who were paid very little to do a thankless job. Also felt at times that more staff could've helped them out tremendously as it would with any facility. I though the residents were given the care and respect they deserved. The facility seemed well equipped with resources necessary to care for it's residents "

However, in their independent living facility, the parking was too far away. I would recommend it to people who could walk far to go to the parking area. "

"Victory Centre was very nice. It was a large and very attractive community. The food was very good. They allow dogs. It is very nice living for someone who just wants to move into a facility where they don't have to cook, clean, etc., and also it has a nice social life. They have all kinds of programs for people so that they never get bored. "

"My mom is here. The place is very pleasant. You enter it and it looks like a hotel lobby. Everybody has been very friendly and helpful. I had lunch there a couple of times, and what I had was pretty good. My mom's been happy with the food. I was there for an activity. They had a music program one afternoon. Her room meets her needs. Because my mom is in a wheelchair, there are still some obstacles for her to reach the sinks and stuff. It's not as easy for somebody in a wheelchair to get to the sinks. They have a lot of activities though."

"My brother used to stay at Sunrise of Park Ridge. I think their care was fine, and the staff was very good. Every time I went there, they could always tell me where my brother was. My brother stayed in a nice, single room. The place was a little bit better than the other communities we know. They also seemed to have more activities there, like singing and exercise programs. Their food was good and had good choices on their menu, so you could pick between three different things for each meal. It was better than the others. I highly recommend it. "

"Alden Courts of Des Plaines is located on the same campus as the Alden of Des Plaines nursing home and Alden Gardens assisted living. Alden Courts is dementia specific assisted living providing care to elderly persons with Alzheimer's and related dementia. Alden Courts occupies its own separate building and entrance but that shares the same parking lot with the nursing home and the Gardens assisted living. It generally has distinct staffing from Alden Gardens though it does share the same nurse at times. This Alden campus is located in a safe suburban area on the northern edge of the business district. While the Golf Road location makes it next to impossible to go for a walk off campus, the Courts does provide a nice enclosed, secure patio area for residents to use which is nicely set up with seating areas and seasonal plantings when weather permits. The common areas are pleasant, with nicely appointed dining room and activity area. The rooms are studio apartment style and are smaller than some other assisted livings, but since the focus is on activities and interactions to keep residents stimulated, more time is typically spent outside of the residents' rooms. This is a smaller assisted living in terms of number of residents, so it is able to provide personalized attention and staff are able to get to know residents and families. The food is average to above average with most meals tasty and appealing. The staff seems to have a less than average rate of turnover, and all are typically kind and professional, providing compassionate care. "

"I visited my grandmother at Three Crowns Park, and I love the facility. It has all the different amenities. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. Most of the staff are friendly. They also have a lot of activities offered for her. They take the residents to parks, and they have music in the evening, so those are good. "

The Montclair is a Luxury Assisted Living and Memory Care community opening early 2024 in Morton Grove, IL. As a company, we did extensive research to see where we can fill in the gaps of what senior needs are and what is missing in the local market. What we learned during our research was that the senior living industry has become so high-priced that many seniors cannot afford to get quality community-based care to support their activities of daily living or memory impairment. Much of the senior living industry has forgotten about the main purpose of senior living: quality, accessible resident care. We decided as a company to change this. The Montclair of Morton Grove will offer luxury senior living to our residents at an affordable price, allowing for accessibility to help those in need.To learn more about this providers license and review other available state reports, please visit: Illinois Department of Public Health - Health Care Regulation

"We choose here because the staff is very attentive and most of the residents that we talked to have been there for a long time. We noticed that their spontaneous response was always positive. Unsolicited, they always say they really enjoy living there. They rooms are nicely laid out, very clean, and neatly decorated. The food is very good. The dining room is set up restaurant-style with a salad bar, but the residents are served. There is a choice of three different entrees that are all very good. My mom is still kind of new there, but there are lots of activities, like arts and crafts, movies, flower arranging, and religious services. It's close to our house. We're lucky to have found a good one."
