"This is the second time my husband's uncle has been at ManorCare, so they know who he is. He gets along well with all the staff. They like him, and he likes them. He is there for aggressive physical therapy, and they're very responsive. For instance, last week, I got a call from the physical therapist in the evening. They let you know everything that is going on with the relative or whoever you're responsible for, and they're very good about it. They are very responsive. ManorCare is very nice. It is a very nice looking from the outside. It is exactly what it is, it is lovely, and it is a very nice facility. "

"My father chose to go to Tamarac because it was close to his home and we were very pleased with the care he received. He made remarkable progress with the physical and occupational therapy provided. The staff is very knowledgeable, they were friendly and went above and beyond to meet our demanding needs. The facility was very clean with no odors. "My father haz Alzheimer's and after several difficult experiences with other care providers he was moved to Heartland. I cannot say enough wonderfujl things about the facility and the staff. Heartland specializes in the care of patients with Alzheimers and they are true to their word. My father receives the very best care. He loves his nurse and his aides. He has settled into a routine and for the first time in a very long time, seems content and peaceful which is something we have prayed for him for a long time. Heartland has also been very supportive to my mother and provides her with ongoing information about his care. We are so very thankful for this amazing facility and its caring and supportive staff. "My aunt was in West Broward Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for rehab. It was pretty good, the only thing that upset me a little bit was, she wasn't sitting up much. She was in bed most of the time, other than the time when she was going for physical therapy. I didn't see her sitting up in a wheelchair or anything like that, and it might have been her refusing, so I don't know. That's the only thing that I would say was bad, everything else was pretty good, except for the food. The staff was good, there were no problems. It was pretty clean."

"Only a few months ago I had a very frightful experience with my mom, she was transferred from Plantation General Hospital to Plantation rehab. This was the best experience ever! The entire staff was very caring and offered the most help when needed. Although my mom is very quiet, and independent she needed help to maintained her dignity and Plantation Rehab did that for her! Major shout out to Tracey (administrator) Teddy (mom's favorite person) he really gave her a sense of wanting to live again ! Thank you Teddy for your kindness and support. Thank you to the Activity Coordinator and the entire staff who touched my mom in some way. "Saint Johns Nursing Center is a Catholic hospital, and they've been very good to my mom. I like them, and they have been good to her. They have media things every couple of months. We get together with everybody, and they are very helpful. They are very good, and so far she has been great. They are hands-on so they keep me in the loop, and that is what I want. The food is not great. That would be the one thing that I would say that is kind of important when somebody is spending their last days. I am kind of bummed about that, but everything else is pretty good. If you want to pray, I like the fact that they have a chapel downstairs. They have nuns and a bishop that comes around, so I like that as well. "

"My mom has been in Margate Health Care Center for two weeks now. It was referred to us by the hospital. Our experience there is very good. The facility is very good and beautiful. It is very clean. The staff is very helpful; they're good. The food is also good. They do have activities there. My mom went to rehab everyday and then they have games, presentations, etc. She likes this place. "

"When my husband had to be admitted to Rehab and then Long time care, I researched and visited several Nursing Homes within a 25 mile radius and found that Broward Nursing & Rehab Center had the cleanest and most professional caring staff for my husband. Although it is 25 miles from our home in Coral Springs, I chose Broward Nursing and Rehab rather than choosing one closer and more convenient to our home. My husband owned Nursing Homes up in Connecticut and he always told me what to look for in a good Nursing Home. Does it smell when you go inside? What does the menu look like and be sure to check the kitchen and refrigerator out. What kind of activities do they have? Is the staff (Receptionist, CNA's, Nurses, social workers caring and friendly? Are they interested in the residents? When you show up unexpectedly, is the care the same as your normal Saturday and Sunday visits? Are they observant and notice when a resident may need medical attention or medicine adjusted? After almost three years, the answer to all the above is "yes!" My husband and I both have adjusted and I do get to bring him home two or three times a month via TOPS vans who transport my husband in his wheelchair to and from the Nursing Home. It has been an adjustment neither of us ever expected to go through and we are grateful Broward Nursing and Rehab are a caring home and unlike a lot of Nursing Homes I have seen. "

"I have lived at The Health Center of Coconut Creek for about four or five weeks now. There are a lot of people who are very good and nice, but you're always going to get one or two who are a pain in the neck. On the majority, they are very friendly, and the gym is very good. The food is good and we have three full meals a day. They give you plenty to eat and there's quite a variety. They give each patient a list of dinners for the whole week and you pick out which ones you want and they turn them in. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are very well taken care of. It's a very clean, neat place. They have shows, card games, and Bingo. I have physical therapy with Jennifer and she's great. Each room has television."

"I chose Manor Pines and my friend is there. It's a garden type of community. Their staff is professional and dedicated to you. They have typical American cuisine. We had turkey and yams. Amenities include on-site physical and occupational therapy, daily activities, and walkable grounds. Everything my friend needs is available on site."

"John Knox Village Health Center is more a rehab facility than a nursing home. The staff is very caring and compassionate -- at least, the majority of them are. There are a few who are a bit not so, but compared to the other places my mom has been in the past, they are very, very good. We've had some difficulty with them in terms of communication and coordination of various things. She went into their rehab facility after being in an acute rehab facility because of medical problems. A few days after she was admitted, she developed some cognitive problems and had to be readmitted back to the general hospital for the mental status change that was going on, and it appeared that she was prescribed some sleeping medication that was really not appropriate in the dosage that she got. It seems that once they have clarified what the issue is, they tend to respond to it pretty well and are fairly caring about it. They went out of their way to help her out with some issues. They provided what she required because of her physical problems. It has a good reputation in the community, and in several respects it has been better than some of the other facilities she's had. A lot of the staff is very, very caring. My mom has specifically said some of the staff at night has been very attentive. She has a problem with urinary frequency, and she often has to call a nurse to help her down to the restroom, and in the previous facilities she has always felt like she was being a bother to the staff, whereas here the majority of the staff has been very, very understanding, very responsive, and don't make her feel like she is being a burden to ask for the assistance. So that kind of response from majority of the staff has been good, and just some of the coordination issues and communication issues going on about some of the difficulties she's had has been our only major complaint. "

"John Knox Village was very nice, all new, and very clean. The apartment was beautiful. The staff was very polite and very nice. We have nothing to complain about. It's only that it's extremely expensive. There is a new complex that they built. They have some that are older, but the new one is outstanding."
