My 98 year old mother has been in Broward Nursing and Rehab for 10 days now after a fall, fractured hip and surgery. During that time we have been treated with kindness and compassion during a difficult adjustment time for us. The Staff have their hands full, this is not an easy job…not only are the patients in all kinds of distress but so are the family members that visit. I have felt comfortable every time I have come to be with my mother and I have been met with informed and conscientious Nursing Staff at every turn. Tonight, our assigned CNA, Olvita went above and beyond during a difficult evening for my Mother. She made us feel that no task was too difficult and she assisted us promptly and with compassion even when her work load was overwhelmingly non stop. I am grateful to Olvita and the entire Floor Staff at Broward Nursing and Rehab for their Professionalism and Patience when faced with performing their duties at the same time that they are confronted with uncalled for complaints and stressful situations. I am grateful for their Good Manners and Willing Spirits when we needed it most. Thank you. Merci. May God Bless you all.

My experience at Broward Nursing & Rehab was terrifying at first before arriving here because of the bad reviews I heard. However, once I arrived I was immediately greeted and reassured that I’m in great hands and not to be scared. I felt the warmth and love from the staff. They have accommodated all my needs and have been extremely helpful and committed to my well being. Nurse Paulette, Bell and CNA Brown are sincerely the best. They are so caring and efficient in assisting great care. I had a few episodes that were frightening where I felt like I couldn’t breath and there they were attentive to my needs immediately. I didn’t feel neglected. Also, Dr. Cadogan, who always makes sure she explains my prognosis in depth and provides the best care for me is incredible. I have achieved my purpose and made tremendous progress in walking again since 2009. The rehab department is exceptional, especially Bankroft who went to the extent to deliver my walker to my home, I had forgot at the facility during my first stay. I am greatly appreciative of everything that has been done for me. I would highly recommend this facility. In closing, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love.. Thank you, Brenda

My mother has been a long term resident at Broward Nursing for 6 years. The staff is wonderful and extremely attentive to my mother's needs. They communicate with me very well and always keep me informed regarding her care. She has made many friends at the facility and enjoys living there.

Our experience here at Broward Nursing and Rehab has been a joy. At first we were very undecided about my grand mother stay at Broward because of all the things that you hear about in some nursing facilities. Once we visited the facility we saw that she was very comfortable and enjoyed the care that she was receiving. The nursing staff was very helpful upon visit, and she mentioned that she really like the desserts that are served at each meal. Great job on keeping a smile on my Grandmother's face and easing our anxiety of leaving her in your care.

My Grandmother was placed here back in June. At first we was not to sure about the facility, but as we continued her stay we found that the nursing staff was very helpful and hands on. The nursing staff always kept me informed of her condition and most of all I felt safe with leaving her here. The favorite part of her day was when she receives her breakfast. She always tells me how much she enjoyed it. Very clean facility and would highly recommend it.

My mother was admitted to Broward Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and it was it was a good experience. They were very responsive on the phone, and they called for updates. At first, she was in an isolation period on her first admission for two weeks. After that, they facilitated two immediate caregivers that came in after they received a little training. Then they would come in whenever they wanted, but everybody else would have to call for an appointment. It was never really an issue, and they would seem to facilitate it. They kept the facility clean. Everything was good. They had good nursing care and good aides.

My father had rehab at Broward Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, which also serves as a long-term care facility. It's somewhat connected to the Broward General Hospital System because the doctors all confer with them as well. It was a very caring facility. The staff was very attentive. There were lots of opportunities for the patients and people staying there for entertainment and social activities. My father got excellent physical therapy while he was there. I found it to be a pretty exceptional and lively facility. The staff engaged the other patients and attendees. There were TVs throughout the place. There was a garden area in the courtyard, which had an area for smoking, and an area for people to do gardening and horticulture. They have field trips and shopping. Depending on what spectrum you are, this place has everything to offer. It's a full-time home and serves as a part-time facility for occupational therapy. The staff was delightful and attentive, they knew how to be firm with some of the patients when they needed to, but in general they were extremely caring and they went out of their way to look after my dad. They were very good. The food could use some improvement. It's an old and dated building, but it's clean and hygienic.

Beware I spent about one hour and half ringing for service. I could not get any service what so ever, all my belongings were sitting in the room scattered on the floor. I have c.o.p.d. and just got out of the hospital from open heart surgery. There was no oxygen set up ,accept a etank, they said they would have to find a oxygen machine and clean it up then bring it in. it was very warm in the room with only a fan ( a good place to raise bacteria ).I asked them to plug in my bi-pap machine that I use to help me sleep as well as to help me breath. They said in 10 minutes, hour and half later still not plugged in, they said that I only need it to sleep, they are so wrong, that machine had saved me many a time to catch my breath. At that point I decided to get out of there as quick as I can, they told me if I left that my insurance would drop me. They wanted me to sign a blank release form, no way. I had my friend pick me up and I got out of there as fast as I could. How and why do they have a license to operate, I don’t know. They should be closed up.

My dad was very sick and no one helped him to eat or anything. He caught hospital acquired pneumonia there and then insisted on discharging him saying he was not responding. Transferred him to a hospital where he died from the infection. He hospital tried and tried to save him but couldn't. Short staff, dirty sheets, terrible food. t was the beginning of the end for him.

Everyone AT the Boward Nursing and Rehab Center gave me an outstanding caring service. Very professional, sweet and compassionate. Nurses were supportive and helpful. The Physical Therapists were caring and gave me confidence to walk again. They made sure I did My Therapy everyday. Didn't have to wait to get the right attention when I needed it. I highly recommend it!

My mother had a catastrophic fall; the doctor never returned my sister and my calls to get pain medication. She cried and was in pain for two days..finally the doctor perscribed three pills for her stay. The staff lied to my mom and told her that they were waiting for the delivery of the medication. The dispenceray is there on site! My mother received one pill and they did something else with the other two. They tell the patients anything not to take care of them.........then when released they do not visit as promised.

Do Not Put Your Loved One In This Place. My dad went into the NH in Sept 2014 he only lived 13 days He developed pneumonia from an intestinal perforation they caused from blood thinner injections in the abdomen. I questioned the nurses for 4 days about him swelling and having difficulty breathing On the day he passed away I asked for an ambulance to be called for 2 hours I finally have the nurse an ultimatum you call now or I will When my dad was transported to the hospital he was found to have pnuemonia and intentional perforation which he did not have when he was transferred from the hospital to the unsung home 13 days before He lived about 6 and half hours at the hospital then passed away due to their negligence

When my husband had to be admitted to Rehab and then Long time care, I researched and visited several Nursing Homes within a 25 mile radius and found that Broward Nursing & Rehab Center had the cleanest and most professional caring staff for my husband. Although it is 25 miles from our home in Coral Springs, I chose Broward Nursing and Rehab rather than choosing one closer and more convenient to our home. My husband owned Nursing Homes up in Connecticut and he always told me what to look for in a good Nursing Home. Does it smell when you go inside? What does the menu look like and be sure to check the kitchen and refrigerator out. What kind of activities do they have? Is the staff (Receptionist, CNA's, Nurses, social workers caring and friendly? Are they interested in the residents? When you show up unexpectedly, is the care the same as your normal Saturday and Sunday visits? Are they observant and notice when a resident may need medical attention or medicine adjusted? After almost three years, the answer to all the above is "yes!" My husband and I both have adjusted and I do get to bring him home two or three times a month via TOPS vans who transport my husband in his wheelchair to and from the Nursing Home. It has been an adjustment neither of us ever expected to go through and we are grateful Broward Nursing and Rehab are a caring home and unlike a lot of Nursing Homes I have seen.
