"The people at Verdugo Valley have been very helpful. They are good with my grandmother, but I don't want to keep her out of town; I want her in town. The reason why they picked her up was because they said they would help her and they think she needed that here in Fresno and they were doing nothing. They do a lot of activities and they even have church and karaoke. They let them live how they want to live. It is really a beautiful place and I wish this place was here in Fresno. "

"Been disappointed with this facility lately. My mother has been a resident for 1 year now and their services have gone done. The meals are sad... green beans and hamburger are served a lot. And they have switched the dining room from a light airy room that looks out onto the patio to a dark, no windows, painted brown with red and black lights. This is not healthy for elderly patients. They say they switched due to some new equipment coming in but they state the rooms are the same size???? Also it is a safety factor. The room is not large enough for 4 tables full of wheelchair bound patients.... and now due to my mother having oxygen equipment it is not large enough or her to eat with others so she sits in the hallway or her room. They are in their rooms enough! There is no socialization this way. Lately the cleaning of the rooms has been lacking also. "

"My mom is at Oak Park. After her stroke, she went there for a convalescent rehabilitation. My dad was also there. We love Oak Park. They have great staff. The people are well cared for, and the activities are very lovely. They had a terrific Halloween Party that we went to, and they take residents out on field trips. "

"My mom had lived for a short time in North Valley Nursing Center. We were very happy there. The staff had very professional ethics, and the nurses were very helpful. The room was a double occupancy room, though my mom did not have anyone in the room for at least two or three days, and then someone moved in with her. I would recommend it to others. "

"The facility was surprisingly large for what initially from the outside looks like a block of apartments. Trees and grass surround the brick building, on some sides the trees cover the whole building. Adds a lot to the atmosphere of being a quiet peaceful place, the theme is continued on the outdoor areas inside the complex with palm trees in the patio. There is even an option of gardening as an activity program. The hallways were neat and sterile, areas of the complex did feel like a hospital, but still a well maintained one.The entire staff was friendly in person, from the nurses to the directors. Things seemed a bit unorganized at times, but every staff member I passed by with the nurse I was talking with wanted to help. I did not interact very much with doctors. As for the older adults, most seemed understandably tired and depressed but there were some lively people. One older man struck up a conversation with me about his injuries, we talked and despite his need for independence he did not appear to be a lonely person and he seemed to be in good spirits and hopeful. Not that there weren't a fair share of people that did appear to be lonely and sad.There is nursing service available for different kinds of needs for the elderly from psychologists, pain management, individualized care plans, nutritional care, transportation, medication management and education to hospice program. There is care for Alzheimer's patients, sufferers of diabetes and treatment plans that are included in the board and room fee for bowel and bladder training, rehab, strengthening and other restorative programs. There is occupational therapy for day to day living as well as numerous physical therapy treatments and speech therapy. There are also activities like singing, fitness, music, games. They also have socials services for assistance during transitions to and out of high valley for services like dental, vision, podiatry and more. "

"Extremely happy My mother in law Has been a resident For 9 years. They have Been awesome in her care. Was in the facility When inspectors came in the inspectors were Rude and very disrespectful but staff Seemed to accommodate Them and in the end all was well. Don’t know how they tolerate those Inspectors DON Is very good"

"I was highly impressed with Dreier's Nursing Care Center. They are a 5-star type of facility that I thought was one of the better ones. They do have a reputation. It's a facility that has been in business for over 60 years. They're a medium-sized place. It's homely and they have a great staff there. I just thought that they were very reputable. I looked at the patients there. They were extremely happy. A lot of them had some great powerful testimonies about being able to recuperate for some of their problems like strokes and things of that nature. I was surprised of it being a good type of older community. A person looking outside from the inside point of view, they saw mountain regions and just pleasant sights from their facility. I thought that they were something that I could remember about the way their whole total picture was. It wasn't polished like a lot of state of the art, brand new facilities but it was extremely homey, very clean. I just saw a relaxation there that I didn't see before at some of the facilities. I thought that they've had a specialist system design for a person that has a specialized problem like dementia. I just thought for some reason that facility it seems like it is really trying to grab and dig deeply into the patient to see if the patients can come out and want to win in life instead of giving up and just housing them. "

"My friend is in Autumn Hills Health Care. It was a place that took her insurance, and she had been there before, so they knew her, and they were able to right away say, "Oh, yeah, no problem, we'll come pick her up." They were very accommodating and quick, and that's exactly what we were looking for, because we were kind of in an emergency situation. We were really so grateful for that. There are two per room where she is and they seem to be caring for her. They have PT on staff and doctors on staff. It's not for long-term care. It's more of a short-term solution."

"My father-in-law is in Royal Oaks. The facility is fine. Cleanliness is fine. They are upgrading. He is in a shared room and they have a shared bathroom, but it is spacious enough. The staff treats him fine. Their attitude is great. The dining room is nice. The food is very well prepared, and it is nice and hot when it is served. There's no problem as far as I can tell. I know they have good exercise and ways for them to get around, but he is committed to a wheelchair so he cannot really get around easily. The facility is very well taken care of, and they have plenty of room for people to move around and things for the elderly to do. The staff is friendly to the residents. They are knowledgeable, and I will recommend them. "

"Excellent facility! We researched many facilities and were fortunate to find Broadway Manor. The entire staff (Alex,Mike,Tonya, Zara,Miriam,Rico,Gilliyan, Nora) are fantastic to work with in managing our elderly family member's care. They truly work together as a team, and completely inform us of any changes or concerns in our mother's care. The facility is always extremely clean and all the residents appear to be well taken care of when we visit. The physical therapists are great and keep us aware of our mother's progress in rehabilitation. "

"It's a clean center and there's no smell. My mother had been in a different rehab center before but Burbank Healthcare has no urine smell at all. It's very clean and the walls are shiny. There's wallpaper on the walls and it's just comfortable. The staff are very nice. My mom is happier with the place compared to the previous one. I haven't eaten there yet but the food looks good also. "

"My brother is now in St. Vincent Healthcare. This place is mainly for Alzheimer's patients. For me, it is a very well organized place. There's always someone who'll talk to you. The staff does a lot of things for their patients even though every need is different for each patient. My brother's medications and dietary intake are being monitored. They have different doctors that come in for different needs, e.g., podiatry, psychiatry, etc. One time, they were doing their afternoon exercises with music, walking around and dancing around the hallway. It was kind of nice. They have an outdoor courtyard where patients can be out in the sun if they insist. Each room has a television. Overall, I'm pleased with this place. "
