Croatan Village

To the naked eye, the Croatoan Village looks like something you would find back in the days of the Croatoan back in the days of John Smith when Virginia was being founded. Don't get me wrong, the place is clean but it just lacks that certain "something". I walked in and asked for a brochure or pamphlet because I was thinking of moving in and I got a laugh out of the receptionist but that was the only laugh I seen throughout the visit. The building, itself, just didn't look like it "wanted" visitors to stay in it. It didn't want to be a 5 or 6 star palace. The staff did not seem too pleasant either. The spaciousness of the village is nice though. There were instances where the caretakers were involved with patients and their activities which were a plus. I only gave this facility two stars because it just did not "knock my socks off" like I was hoping an assisted living facility would but the patients did seem to like it which is what counts most.
