I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife is currently at Aerius Health Center. She's progressing a little bit. She likes these people and everyone seems to be helping her. It's a new building and the roads are nice. The service is really good. She hasn't had any interest in doing it but they do have bingo and they've got a big TV and a huge room with tables and all kinds of stuff with any patients that are there whether they're senior citizens or not. It's a very good place.

I visited this facility

My mother will be moving into Aerius Health Center. It was very clean and it was a newer place. It didn't have a foul smell. This place had a more homey atmosphere rather than a hospital feel. They had the people needed to take care of my mom's needs and they catered to what we were looking for. The staff was very nice and professional. They would serve dinner, give baths, do the laundry, and do the everyday chores. There would always be somebody close by to assist her. She wanted a private room where she didn't have a roommate, and they would have that available for her.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

A family member was in this facility for rehabilitation after a fall at home resulting in broken arm. When in the facility they fell two additional times. No bed alarms, appeared to be understaffed and most didn't have sense of urgency, dirty room (dirt/food on floor along with ants in the room), not helping patient to eat when needed assistance. I had to remove them from this facility and take them back to emergency room due to lack of attention to previous injury. This is a poorly ran facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is currently at Aerius with cancer and I have serious concerns about the facility. I do not like to leave poor reviews unless I believe it’s truly necessary. Wednesday March 16, I arrived into town at 9:30pm and visited her. I noticed the same Ensure drink had been left out all day along with early morning breakfast food. No one came to give her a fresh drink or rid of the food. Thursday March 17, early morning I noticed ants crawling on her bed and floor. I alerted a nurse and was told it would be taken care of. I visited her again later that day and more ants were on the floor and 2 more crawling on her bed. I requested a new room for her and they did move her. The new rooms floor was sticky and had not been cleaned. Friday March 18, I asked a nurse for a toothbrush and toothpaste and she never returned. Sunday March 19 (today), I checked my moms Pleurx catheter that needs to be drained every other day to rid of fluid from her lungs and noticed the date written on the gauze was from 3/15/23. I immediately grabbed a nurse and had the catheter drained. Their nursing book showed that a nurse signed off that it was drained on 3/17/23 and that clearly was not true due to the date written on the gauze. My mom was also soaked in orange juice, along with her pillow case and sheets. I asked a nurse for an ensure, she forgot to bring it and I had to remind her. I also asked a nurse for Tylenol for my moms pain and they ended up taking it to a room next to hers. I had to grab the nurse to let them know that was the wrong room. There was no trash bag placed to put soiled sheets/towels. I am beyond upset and frustrated that the experience at this facility so far has been poor. I have reached out to management and will wait for a response and hope they read this review as well to get their staff and operations under control. This is beyond unacceptable and if these conditions do not change immediately I will have my mom transferred to another facility. I would like to note that the nurse Kim P. that I met last night on 3/18 was wonderful and talked to my mom like a human being. She was empathetic and genuinely cared for my mom and her needs. It was pleasant to see a nurse arrive into her room without a cell phone in her hand texting. Thank you Kim for your kindness and it’s nurses like you that make a huge impact in the world.

My wife is in the Aerius Health Center for rehab. It's a fairly new place, they've done a good job there. They offered a lot of stuff for rehab and would care, which she needed, and they have nurses on hand. The biggest thing is because they have pretty good rehab here. The nurses do a good job and their assistants are effective. If somebody who's bedridden calls, they come in and change them or do what they got to do. They respond very well. She can't walk so they take her to the little garden in a wheelchair, they have a room where they can watch movies, and they have some entertainment and some games going on. They do a lot of things for the seniors who are here for a long time. They have no visiting hours, they let you stay sometimes overnight with no problem.

I visited this facility

We did a tour of Aerius Health Center. It's a new building. The room she showed us is private. It's spacious, the bathroom is huge, and wheelchair accessible. It's a great, big, walk-in shower kind of thing; we liked that. No one would have a problem getting in there, having a shower, or being given a shower, there's plenty of room. The rehab room was like a big, open room with everything around the edges, but everything is brand new. The rehab people, the associates, all have a computer station to monitor their patients. We did see one older lady in a wheelchair using one of the machines. It was just basically what we need, we were so excited. Our one downfall was the lady that we spoke with, I can't remember her name. She was blunt and short. My husband needs to be motivated, and she goes "Well, we're not going to force him." The way she spoke to us was really short; I mean, she was knowledgeable and everything, but it was just her attitude, I guess. With the rooms, everything is new. There was only one bed in the room that we saw, two great big windows, and lots of room. There was plenty of room to get around the bed in a wheelchair. Everybody gets a TV, a dresser, and a nightstand. I don't remember much of the dining room, and we didn't get to taste anything. We did see it when we first walked in the door. Some patients were sitting in wheelchairs in the hallway. Maybe just the morning group, getting together, but I can't say that they were visiting with each other. We like the idea that when you walked in, you had to have your temperature taken. We had to wear a mask. I think there were notes on the door that said they had a positive Covid case. We weren't told we couldn't go down a hallway or anything. They had a seating area with great big, high-backed chairs where they could go and sit. There was a fireplace, and it was kind of nice. The person who gave us the tour was the one that was very short. She showed the place and everything, but she wasn't really warm and loving as far as other people that we visited with at other facilities. The one-room we saw was clean, nobody was in there. It didn't smell like a nursing home.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Last year, I was at Aerius Health Center twice. The food wasn't great, and you had to wait quite awhile for the staff to come in and help you. I didn't really get enough therapy time with them. I got a whole lot more from the other facility I was in. If you need rehab, do not go there. There were no activities, and I got COVID while I was there; one of the staff members brought it in. I was working with this particular person, and he ended up having to stay home for fourteen days, and he still can't smell or taste anything. He infected twenty-one of us including staff, so I do not recommend Aerius at all. I was in a single room, and I had a window so that my husband could come and talk with me. They always tried to get me a room with a window. I didn't have anybody else in there with me. The staff took their time in coming to see you, but then everybody was short-handed, so I took it as the problem. The physical and occupational therapists did come in, and they worked with me but not for very long. I did like the staff and the therapists themselves, though.
