I visited the Edison Center last weekend. It is not as large as many of the other assisted living facilities I have visited. Driving up, the grounds and building were really well kept and planned for living and enjoyment, rather than to impress. The visit was not pre-planned. The Edison Center happened to be near another facility I had planned to visit so I just "popped in." The staff were lovely and very welcoming. I was allowed to mingle with and talk with their "guests" who really chatted up a storm. I was surprised and very pleased with the variety of things they were involved with. The staff apparently encourages their residents to "try out" things that they had not done before--like painting, writing, photography, learning new languages--they all seemed to be having fun. Each resident has a separate apartment. Two of them couldn't wait to show me their apartment. Small, cozy, warm and very homey. Each apartment was very personalized. Paintings, colors, etc. were very individual. This looks as it if would be a really pleasant, happy place to live. I didn't have an opportunity to eat the with residents but I did see their dining room in action just as I was leaving, and the food looked delicious--fresh vegetables, very appetizing looking, and it smelled heavenly. This is definintely on my "short list."

I went with my friend to visit homes to try to find the best one for her grandmother. She needed me for a second set of eyes. I must say I was very impressed. This was very nice. All the residents have their own "apartment". They are so cute! They were spacious and very homey looking. The whole facility was very well kept. Everything appeared to be very organized. They staff were very friendly and helpful. We just made a pop in visit. We didn't call ahead for a tour. We thought it would be better if they didn't know we were coming. We both got a real comfortable feeling by being there. Everything felt natural and not rehearsed or fake. I definetly gave this facility two thumbs up. There is really nothing I can think of that is negative. We also took some brochures and it was very reasonably priced compared to other homes. In the future if I am in the same spot as my friend I would definetly come back here.

A few years ago my Great Grandmother stayed here twards the end of her life. She was in very poor shape and fading fast. I found the place clean and home like with very personal touches. I didnt feel creeped out or uncomfortable there. Her room felt like her room at home. And the staff was very very good with her even though she became very difficult. Also very comforting to us in our time of need. I have nothing but positive opinions of this place. The food was healthy and fresh. The establishment was clean and the staff was hard working and friendly. They did their jobs while still making us comfortable and giving us a private moment with our loved one.
