"A&R Premiere Care just had new add-ons to their facilities. What I liked the most about it was the lady that runs it is a nurse and then her husband is also a healthcare person. I think he's a physical therapist or something. They were both very nice and very helpful."

"The staff at StoryPoint Saline was friendly. The facilities were pleasant. It's what I would choose. The staff member there not only toured me to the building, but she also gave me some tips on moving and getting rid of things, which was very helpful. They invited me to come back for a meal along with my friend who accompanied me there, but I did not have time to do that. I especially like that they had their own staff. In a lot of these places, if you need help, you have to contract it through a different entity, and there, they have their own staff. The facilities, while they are not as new and shiny, were perfectly adequate."

"I liked Glass Peaks Senior Living very much, and so did my daughter. The bedrooms were a little bit small, but we could fit my husband's queen-size bed in there, and put his dresser in one of the closets. He would have a walk-in shower, and I would have a bathtub in my room that was across the hall. We would sleep in two different bedrooms because my dog would sleep with me. The upkeep was very good. They kept it beautifully. We walked through the dining area, and it was very nice, too. We would have a small kitchenette in our apartment, and I could fix something there for us if we didn't want to go down to the dining room. I could warm up soup or make a sandwich or whatever. The woman who gave the tour was fantastic. She answered all questions and everything for us."

"I toured Vibrant Life Temperance. It was clean and organized, giving off a warm feeling. It's a little like a dormer. They have a bed, a closet, a TV, and a chair, just like a hotel room. I've been working with Nick, and he was good. They can go outside on the deck, and there's a lot for them to do besides sitting in the building. The facility has a little pond with seating and chairs, making it really nice, and they're served three meals a day."

"University Living was very nice, they were very accommodating, very helpful. The sample unit was nice, and there were a few residents who had their doors open. The eating room was very nice and high quality. They have a room that you can rent out if you want to have a party for a loved one. Everything that I saw was a five out of five. It was very classy and very clean."

"I visited Brookdale Ann Arbor. The building itself was beautiful. They had a lot of places for people to sit, and the grounds are very nice. When you first walk in, it kind of has a grand staircase up to the next floor. The people were nice. The staff was very friendly, very informative, and knowledgeable about their work. We were only there for about an hour to an hour and a half, so I can't give anything about actually working with them on a day-to-day basis, but they seemed very nice and very capable. They had a library."

"The staff at the American House Carpenter is fabulous. Some residents were very welcoming and gave their opinions on living there. This one is the most ideal location for us, and my former husband, who is the care recipient, felt good about it, which is the most important thing. I would certainly endorse it as the perfect place for him. It was wonderfully inviting and clean, it had a lot of activities, and he felt comfortable there. We visited for independent care, although we also asked about assisted living options. We're planning that he will need step-up care with his Parkinson's as the years go along, but we're starting with independent living."

"I had a pretty good first impression of Maple City assisted living. I went to find a place for my father to stay because he has demetia and can no longer take care of himself. The facility was clean and everyone seemed friendly. My Dad seems to like it there so that makes me happy. They have a lot of activities for their guests to do. The pricing was the best in the area so that is always a nice bonus. I would definitely recommend Maple city assisted living to anyone that need to look for a place for a family member that can no longer take care of themselves. My dad really enjoys the meals he receives there because everything is made from scratch. The only downside that I see is that my dad does not get a private room but he seems to like his roommate so it's not that big of a deal. "

"My mother-in-law is in Hampton Manor of Madison Township. We like the place. Everybody is really nice there and it's convenient for us. They're really good with her. She loves it there. The staff is very nice. They take care of the people. She loves the food. We're like, "Where were you at this time?" She goes, "We got to go down and we got to get ice cream." They have different kinds of activities for her. Some people go places and they go in groups. She tells us how much she likes it. She's very happy there. She's in a studio apartment. She pays for it and then she has money after, too."

"I went to the assisted living part of Tecumseh Place, but they also had memory care there. They first told me that they would not come down from their regular price. When I already signed my aunt into another place, they called me and said they would come down, but it was too late. I would have liked that place. It was very nice. There were a group of residents playing bingo and there's a beautiful huge lobby area with the grand piano. They have nice size rooms and nice kitchens. All the facilities were new looking and nice as well."

"We visited Cambrian, it's very clean, and it's a new building. All the rooms have their own private bath and shower. However, I did not see smiling faces there, and that disturbed me. It was expensive, but they have a calendar full of activities, and the rooms were bigger than other places."

"What a wonderful and caring facility that my oldest sister lived out her final year. Very clean, wonderful meals, beautiful guest bathrooms. Also very caring nursing staff beautifully decorated for the holidays throughout the year 2014. Oh, I can't forget the fun visits we had in the sunroom and they made sure we had enough to drink and eat while we sat out there. Many Blessings to ALL the staff and thanks again!! "
