"During the pandemic, our father’s dementia progressed to the point that he was no longer safe alone. We were so grateful that we were familiar with the care that is provided by the compassionate staff at this facility. Because of our previous experience with them we wouldn’t have considered anywhere else. We knew that, although we could not visit because of COVID restrictions, he was being well cared for. He passed away recently, fortunately after visiting restrictions had been lifted. The staff not only took excellent care of him in his last days, but showed as much compassion to us as family members. We will never forget their kindness."

"The Remington of McCandless has all-day dining, so you don't have a set time to go down to eat. They had a theater and a gathering room. If the family wanted to come in and celebrate something for them, they had this whole area that was beautiful, and it had a refrigerator and a stove. The activities were full on the board. They had happy hours on different days. People were walking around. I didn't taste the food, but I was sitting there, and one of the people who were serving the patients asked them if they wanted pie. The person said, "What kind you got?" They named all five pies that they have. If you didn't like what they were serving that day, they had a menu that you could pick from. They have a bistro. It was outstanding. Katie gave me the tour, and I interacted with two other people."

"What a beautiful place for mom. The facility is very clean. Most importantly is the care and concern the staff has for the residences. I would recommend Ridgecrest to anyone needing a place to reside."

"I like The Grand Residence at Upper St Clair because they have spacious accommodations for the residents. Their apartments are bigger, so that's nice. It looks like their food is really good. The atmosphere and the way they're decorated is very fundamentally different when you think about a quintessential nursing home. The person who guided me was Christopher, and he was great. They showed me a menu for the week. It's a very diverse menu. People from outside of the facility can eat there, and they have to pay of course like a restaurant. I think they take a lot of pride in their food. All of the common areas are very nice. The apartments are a little older than the other places I looked at, but they're clean and well-kept."

"This is a fabulous community. They provide exceptional care. The staff and managers go above and beyond. They truly treat the residents like family members. The new Executive Director is a Godsend. He has really improved the community. I would highly recommend if you are looking for memory care."

"We toured Ashton Commons Senior Living. It was very nice. It's a brand-new place, and it was beautiful. They had cottages, which we didn't go to see because we talked about the price before they took us to show us anything. We knew they were too expensive. We were in their general area, and we saw their dining area and their main common areas. Everything was brand new, and the people there were extremely nice. They had signs up that said they had different programs, like bingo, crafts, and outings, and that you could sign up for. They had rides to appointments like if you had doctor's appointments."

"I visited the assisted living facility of Celebration Villa of Lakemont Farms in Bridgeville. The people who gave the tour were very pleasant. The rooms I saw were smaller, but the upkeep is very nice. The dining area was big. The parking area was also good. I was able to find a parking space."

"The atmosphere in Juniper Village at Monroeville was very home-like. The director was extremely knowledgeable and the services they provided would be everything that my parents would need. My father liked it a lot. The biggest problem we're finding is availability. The facility was very clean. It was recently renovated, so it looks new. The rooms were nice. They were a nice size. There was lots of light through windows and things like that."

"I visited one place, and that was Apple Blossom Senior Living. It was very clean. No smell. It was very quiet and very spacious, too. The staff was very informative. She took her time. She gave me a complete review. We visited the whole building and the benefits that they have available. I was provided with a daily itinerary of activities, what was scheduled for that day, and what was offered to the residents. It wasn't active at that time, but they have a daily schedule of activities, so that was very nice."

"My mom is here. I have never been in it, but I saw my mom twice and she looked good. She was clean and well cared for. Supposedly they have activities, but I don't know what they are. My mom has dementia so everything is wonderful. She thinks the food is good in her opinion. In her state of mind, the food is good. The staff all seems to be good."

"My mom has moved into The Seasons of Saxonburg. It is very nice. It is clean and very professional. They have a beauty salon, they have activities, and there's a courtyard. You can take your loved ones out to the courtyard and share a meal with them. There's also another side patio with a couple of tables and chairs. I've had some interaction with the staff, but not really with a lot of them, just with the coordinator, and she did well. It's very good for the money. They have a flat fee. Even if her care goes up, it's all one fee. They get three meals a day. My mom is in a private room. It's large for a private room."

"My mom loved Magnolia Place of Saxonburg. We put a deposit down for her, her husband, and their dog. However, my mom's husband's kids, after we did all that, said no, that he couldn't afford it. So we just weren't able to go. My mom loved it, and she would like to be there, but her husband can't afford it. My mom liked it because it felt homey. The staff was nice and helpful. The overall appearance and the apartment that they were going to rent were very nice. They had a nice garden area. It was a smaller facility, so they would cater to you as much as they possibly could as far as meals and things like that. For amenities, they had arts and crafts. The part that my mom had put a deposit down was a brand-new wing. "

"My overall tour experience with Schenley Gardens was nice. I was explaining to them that my mother, at one point, was getting up at night and falling when she was here with me, and I wanted her in a safe environment. They showed me one room and they said the rooms were individual. It was a nice room, like a dormitory, with a bed, a dresser, a phone, and all of that, but it was at the other end of the hall and I thought she needed something closer to the nursing station. They had various activities for them. They had a general eating area for the residents and it was nice. I smelt the food. They were still cooking it when I was there that day and they showed me a couple of the menus and based on the menus, it seemed like the food was good. The person that did the tour for me to the memory care was very pleasant and he seemed to be concerned. He had just started working about three weeks before I came. The staff seemed to be very attentive to their residents. The place was clean. The only thing that was confusing to me was the fact that I didn't realize there was a parking garage there. There was a gate there, so I figured it was only for personnel, and I parked on a street and I was telling them about it and they said, "No, that was their parking garage." You just pull up and a gate will open up for you."
