My uncle lives there. He has been a resident for 6 months now. Transitions is a nice place and it is affordable. They have a new administrator who is doing a fantastic job. Staff is great. Always eager to help and to make sure your questions get answered. Staff is always smiling and laughing with the residents. My uncle is very happy and loves being there. The food is appealing and the activities department always have a calendar filled with fun activities, entertainers and outings.

I have lived here for some years and currently am in the hospital. I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK WITH THE NEW MANAGER RUNNING THE SHOW! Management is not trustworthy, staff is miserable and when they're miserable us residents suffer. Activities aren't much anymore either. Just sitting in the dining room talking or arguing over bingo. Food is small portions under or over cooked. The cable tv is the only thing I can't complain about. It's not like it was 2½ years ago. It's steadily on the decline. All those nice caring staff members have all moved on to work at better facilities. It's just terrible, I'd rather be at the hospital than go back to Oakland Manor.

My mother-in-law has been in Transitions for 3 months now, and it's been great. She's been doing fine, they care for her very well, and she has her own room. There are about 50 people there. They have Bingo, games, and people come in, sing to and entertain them. They have an area outside that has fish pond, and they can sit out there. Everybody is so friendly.

My dad spent the last year and a half of his life in Transitions Healthcare at Sykesville. He was comfortable living there. The place was convenient for my family. My sister and my brother lived just a quarter mile away from the place. Eventually, we also took my mother there. She is happy there now. The staff looks very good. The people working there seem to be on top of everything. I think somebody bought the place or they changed owners because it is a lot different now. It looks the same. It is just kept clean and doesn't have that funny smell all the time. I haven't tasted their food, but it looks average to me. Everybody is nice, happy, and quiet. Everybody seems to be smiling. The place is almost perfect.
