"I toured Victory Haven Senior Apartments and it's a very nice place. It's very clean and nice. The staff was very courteous and had the information that I needed. They have an exercise room and an activity room. It was nice. I did not see the bedroom because they didn't have any empty apartments for me to see. They have a garden and a dining area. The place is near some shopping centers, and I think a restaurant is around there, too."

"My parents moved to Regency Crest. What they like about the place are the spaciousness of the apartment that they chose, the helpfulness of the community, the assistant community manager, and the friendliness of the neighbors. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They have some activities and the folks have been nice to invite them to the activities in case they weren't aware of when the bingo was or the ice cream social was. In addition to the manager, the staff has been great."

"Cain Commons was very nice and clean. The amenities were very well, and the staff seemed very good. The staff was very knowledgeable, and they pointed out a lot of things that I had asked for, like the condition of the floors and things like that. They were a big help. It was in really excellent condition. I liked the size of the rooms. The sizes were good for one person."

"I toured The Waterfalls of Catonsville. It was a very good experience. The facility is beautiful. The staff who walked me through were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. It's a historic home that has been converted. The rooms are individual with common bathrooms, and then some shared living spaces. I would give it a very high rating for someone who needs a very structured memory care facility. It's a convenient location."

"I went to Evergreens at Columbia Town Center last June. It was very clean, the first impression was professional, but the grounds were disruptive. It's a beautiful place, clean, well kept, the only problem I had was the price. It's a little bit costly, otherwise, I would happily live there because it's great proximity to everything. The malls aren't far from it, the theaters right to the side of it. They had a grand room with a large screen TV, piano, so you can have live performances, a huge dining room, and a kitchen where you can do cooking demonstrations or paint. They had a great greenhouse if you like gardening, they had a huge pool, outdoor swimming pool, gym, and exercise place."

"I was interested with Sunrise at Montgomery Village, but it was too far away. The residents looked happy. I really liked the dining area for the independent living because it was the first thing I noticed. The place was organized and clean. The independent living was more luxurious, but the assisted living was short of that. "

"Angel Core Home of Care is just a small house, so they only had like six people in it. It is a house with six bedrooms. The person who gave us the tour, Angela, was very friendly and very informative. They had clients in the rooms, and the clients let us come in and see the room. They had a couch with a TV, but none of the clients were watching TV there. They were all in their rooms watching TV by themselves. I didn't see anybody interact. Their rooms were nice. I saw the menu, but I didn't try the food. It was a normal menu. The dining area was kind of like the common area, so the dining room and living room were pretty much open. They have activities like morning yoga and outings to go to the store or wherever. They have two different showers. If you want a small community, then this would be a good fit. The only drawback is that a lot of bedrooms are on the second floor. They have a chairlift, so people that need it can go up the steps. It is a clean facility. I think the one thing that they could improve on is the food choices. It just didn't seem like they gave a variety of choices to eat. They give snacks, too."

"We went to Sunnybrook Senior Apartments. It was beautiful, but what I liked least about it was the price. It was $5000. They offered nothing to help the residents as far as medically. They have some amenities, they're very big and personal, but just very expensive. However, my mother-in-law only makes $2200 a month, so there's no way she can afford something like that. I couldn't expect somebody who's elderly to live in a place like that. The only person I met was the manager of the place, and he was nice. But there's nobody there to help anybody. You are on your own completely. I saw the apartment that my mother-in-law would have, and it was pretty. But the one that we're hoping to get at the other place is just as pretty and it's only $650, so why would I pay that much?"
