My mom was always clean, treated with respect and made comfortable. The staff was amazing especially Kathy and April. "

"My first impression of Genesis Healthcare was very good. The grounds and the facility itself were really good, appealing, and welcoming. The staff seemed very nice and knowledgeable. I really liked that they catered to people who had strokes, dementia, or disorders with the brain and handle activities with them like bingo, arts, or one-on-one games. The dining area looked nice. "This facility was the cleanest and neatest of several my friend lived in over the period of a year. This facility was cleaned with products that kept everything spotless while never smelling like a nursing home. The decor was low-key, easy to keep clean and remained very cheerful. It wasn't done up in a fake, fancy style, but was designed to look bright and clean. The staff was vigilant regarding residents' needs and moods. Residents who were truly unable to help themselves were never neglected and didn't have to beg with their eyes when they needed something. Those residents who could converse always had a chance to talk to staff. Unlike other facilities my family friend briefly occupied, our hearts didn't break every time we had to leave him in this nursing home. Nobody here was medicated into a stupor for staff convenience, people were called Dear or Sweetie because the staff couldn't be bothered to read their names on the door.A doctor or RN was available for questions and answers even over the weekends and on holidays, which is unheard of in most skilled nursing homes, and residents' comfort and peace of mind are considered the only was of giving complete care, not just something that is provided as time permits. Visitors are treated with respect and with thanks for helping to keep residents from feeling isolated and forgotten. This nursing home would be the average, in a utopia. "

"It really is like a cruise ship at dock. We really enjoy the food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is just what we need, airy and spacious with lots of storage. But it's the people that make it! The residents have established a sense of caring community throughout the place. It is delightful to interact with all these interesting, fascinating characters. And the programming is non stop! Entertainment, fitness programs, lectures even in these pandemic times. I am so happy to have chosen LVMG."

"My mother is at FutureCare Courtland. We ended up going there. We're not pleased with the food. They're not very considerate to my mother's renal diet. However, the facility is very clean, and the doctors are very thorough, so it's a double-edged sword. They allow us to bring her food, so she is eating something that's fit for her. It's more of a rehab and dialysis center, but where she is now within the organization is more in rehabilitation. I have been very pleased with everyone with the exception of the culinary department. One of my mom's devices was literally taken from her room, so I'm trying to be more understanding if it was actually stolen or if they thought that it was their equipment, so I don't know. That was a one-off incident. Other than the food and that one-off incident, everyone has been wonderful. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to go into the facility personally because of COVID, but my mother is comfortable with its cleanliness."

"Carroll Lutheran was not far from where my son lived. We did not eat a meal there. Our hostess was very helpful, friendly and gracious. Everything was positive there. We did see one room, and it was very modern and well maintained. "

"My husband has been at the rehab since mid July and the progress he has made and continues to make with extremely excellent physical therapy is absolutely amazing. The nurses and staff are wonderful and the food is beyond good. Also I have witnessed how the staff "works together" for the benefit of the patients. "We saw Residences at Vantage Point. The independent living was great. The assisted living felt like a hospital. If mom needed to go into assisted living, I would prefer she went someplace else. They seemed like hospital rooms, like people who were really invalid, and that's not my mom. They have a library where you can check out books, all the typical activities, movies, book groups, selling groups, dancing, and physical activity, and they support a lot of the arts. They have groups that go into Baltimore that will go to the Symphony and things like that."

"My mom lived in Envoy of Pikesville. I've learned that you get what you pay for. Envoy of Pikesville is more of a recovery center than some place that you would leave a person for an extended period of time. They had a poorly managed staff. They changed hands three times since 2015. The place often smelled. Oftentimes someone defecated or urinated on the floor, and it was left there for way longer than it should have been. The people were neglected quite often too. Many times would walk down the hall and the residents would be screaming for help. The dining set-up was nice. The atmosphere was acceptable. I've eaten with my mother there a couple of times and the food was acceptable. They catered to specific needs. The activities were minimal. They tried, but they were not enough."
