"I was very pleased with Woodholme Gardens in Pikesville. They showed us around assisted living and memory care and we were impressed with all of it. I'm supposed to be putting down a $1500 deposit next month for them to hold a room for us. If they can deal with mom not being able to stand and if I provide the lifts and whatever she needs, then I would really still want for her to go there because everyone there has been fully vaccinated. They don't play when it comes to this virus so we were very impressed with that. Everyone wears masks when they are around the residents. I'm going to talk to the sales director because I'm still interested if they will accept her. I don't think they have lifts so if it's required for my mom, I'd have to provide it. I don't have an issue with that. The facility is extremely clean and the staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating. I didn't get a chance to look at the menu but they have a chef there that would provide you with whatever you like. I was also impressed with the fact that they have a closed area that's all windows where families can come in and have birthday parties, holiday dinners, and things like that within that close area. It's a glass-enclosed area. The chef will provide the meals or the family could bring in the meals that they want. "

"When I first drove up to the nursing home, I was not impressed with the architecture and the deplorable conditions of the outside. As soon as I went inside the door to the facility I was greeted by am older woman who asked whom I wanted to see. The inside living conditions weren't much better than the outside looked, and I was not very happy about that. Though I did not like the appearance of the building, I found that the staff was extremely friendly with my grandfather and tried to talk with him as much as possible. He was not always the nicest person, but I know he appreciated the company of the nurses. He would always ask them to get him a beer, and the nurse would bring him a soda which he thought was beer. In the end, I found that this place gave a bad impression from the outside, but had a nice group of people working for them. "

"My husband stayed at Inspirations Memory Care of Lutherville for about a month. I was very pleased with it. They were very friendly, and they gave me any information I needed. When I would call them they would say, "Do you want to talk to him?" and they would take the phone right to him so I could speak with him. He seemed to have adjusted pretty well. His appetite was very poor, but I know they tried to fix him things he liked. The community was very small but very clean, and it seemed homey. It didn't seem like they were going into a facility. It was comfortable. I was not allowed to go inside because of COVID. The facilities are very adequate, too."

"Tudor Heights was very welcoming and clean, and it smelled good. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and informative. The grounds and location were perfect. The rooms were clean, refreshing, and had everything a patient would need, and the bathroom facilities were accessible. The residents seemed to be happy with their surroundings."

"I went to Mabel's House Assisted Living. I like the way it was set up. They had a private room where you share. It was more home-like. It's very clean. They had enough people there to assist the seniors. I liked it a lot. It was very nice. The staff was excellent. The facility was excellent. It was clean. It was nice and cool. It had a bar and a kitchen, like the island. It had enough bathrooms for everyone. It was a house. I was surprised. They had one person do the washing and cleaning. They had enough employees. It was very nice."

"Encore at Turf Valley is the closest one to our house. My mother-in-law ate the food, and she said it was really good. She broke her hip and was in there for six weeks. The staff was very caring, and she didn't need for anything. She spent two weeks in assisted living in September, and the room that she had was wonderful. She didn't participate much because it was new to her, but then when she was in with the hip, she wanted to go see music and all kinds of things. She likes to do puzzles, and so she mostly stayed in her room and did puzzles. It was secure. There was somebody right at the door. You can't go in unless you signed in and if you take her out, you had to sign her out. It was really good. "

"My mother has been at Warm Heart for the past several months and my family is very pleased with her care. We visit regularly and find the facility is always very clean and the staff is very helpful. Our mother is also clean, with clean cloths and clean hair at all times. We like that the facility gets regular visits from health care professionals. "I was able to see The Mohawk Estate. It's a very nice place but not as nice as the other place I toured. The staff who assisted me during the tour was a very nice woman and answered all our questions. We saw their sitting area, and kitchen, and were able able to see the rooms. They also mentioned that they have activities, but we didn't see any at the time."

"I visited Ideal Comfort Assisted Living and toured for assisted living. It's not a good facility. I would never take my father there. The rooms are too small, and there's no privacy. It's not set up for level 3 care, so my father wouldn't have 24-hour coverage. It's not handicap accessible, and the neighborhood is not that great as well, so it just wouldn't be a good fit for him. The person who gave the tour was nice enough. That wasn't the issue; the person was okay. The only suggestion I will make is that I think they need to break down the number of people who are in there, I think they need more privacy and more staff. I think they are understaffed if they're going to offer level 3 care."
