I've been here at Collington A Kendal Affiliate for a few years now. The best thing about this place is I live in a cottage and I have a backyard and a front yard. I get the chance to go outside and do my gardening. It's a 125-acre place, so we have plenty of places to walk around and enjoy nature. The staff is very good and considerate. We pay a monthly fee for food, and the food is OK. I prefer a lot more spice than they use, but generally, the people who live here enjoy the food. We have exercise classes and a flower committee that arranges flowers around the campus and in the buildings. We have plenty of activities to participate in. We have a professional cleaner coming once in 2 weeks to clean out my cottage. And then if there is any repair that needs to be done, I can put in a work order, and they will come and do that for me free of charge.

I liked how Collington had individual villas or apartments that seniors could live in. They had their meals where they could come down and have meals there. And they had areas where they could do crafting. They had vans that could take them out if they needed to go to the stores for anything, but they provided meals, so it wasn't like a big thing. I liked that they had a chance to interact with the seniors that were there. My only thing was that the cost is so high because you have that buy-in and you have to put in the monthly fee. I think if you didn't have to put that money upfront there, we probably would move forward and try to get my mother there. I tried the food, and the food was very tasty. I had no complaints about the food. They had a range of activities for them to do. There was always something that could be done. They had a board that would have the activities and stuff that was available for the day.

I'm on a waiting list at Collington A Kendal Affiliate. It has a 125-acre campus and I especially liked the floor plans of the apartments. It seemed much larger than other communities whose floor plans I had looked at. Each apartment has either a patio or an enclosed area. You don't feel like you're living in a hotel room. I was there twice for a meal and the food was excellent. It is a place which is transitional. Should I need assisted living, then that would be available. There was a swimming pool, all kinds of walking trails, and a chapel. There's a doctor who's available, and there's a doctor's office there should you need someone. You could just make an appointment. Parking was very good, too. The whole place was just lovely.

I had an in-person tour of Collington A Kendal Affiliate. The person who took us on tour was wonderful, listened, and talked about the place. The appealing thing to me was how they had a natural kind of preserve around it, so you could walk around and be in nature. I liked that very much. They have a gym, an indoor pool, a pickleball court, a hair salon, and a little store.

My mom is at a continuing care community called Collington. It's a Kendal community in Mitchellville, Maryland and they're excellent. She's currently in independent living. It's a well-run community with caring and competent staff. They offer all sorts of activities. They have a gym, a salon, a pool, an auditorium, and a music room. She's in a very spacious 1-bedroom with a den. It's in good proximity to Washington DC.

Collington has managed the tremendous stress of COVID-19 with diligence and extraordinary care. Out of the nearly 400 Independent Residents, only two were found to be positive (and 80% of us have been tested on campus at no cost!), and both are now fully recovered. That only happened because management was right on top of it from early March and because of the incredible community spirit of residents. Management has been fully transparent about every detail. Staff have been more then simply helpful, they exhibit genuine concern for our well-being and have maintained a positive outlook throughout. We made the right move, coming here last year. Our apartment is airy, full of natural light, and just the right size for my wife and I. Cottages are beautiful and handsomely landscaped thru a combination of professionals and “green-thumb” residents. The coronavirus hasn’t stopped the activities on campus. Our in-house TV station carries exercise classes that you can do at home, live music, yoga, and more. The beautiful campus is surrounded by a protected forest of 125 acres. The property supports over 2 miles of paved paths, a 6-acre lake and smaller pond, birds galore, tennis/pickle ball courts, bocce, and more.

One of the main reasons I really liked Collington was that the different areas of the residents seemed to really reflect the residents who live there. You would see the courtyard out in front of the cottages the people live in, and they could decorate their little entryway or inside, you would see artwork that the residents made in the hallways. A lot of the people who live there have had international lives so you feel that the residents are really interesting. A lot of other larger communities have more doctors on-site or those who would travel to the site but Collington didnt have a lot of medical resources. The person doing the tour was excellent, very knowledgeable. and friendly. She made us feel welcome and was happy to show us the place. My parents said the food is very good, and they're doing a very good job in accommodating different dietary needs.

Collington was excellent. I thought it was a very nice place. It was clean and spacious, and they seemed to have competent and friendly personnel. It had a nice overall environment, but the price was expensive.

The rooms at Collington were nice. You could have your own kitchen because they always remodel the kitchens when people go in. You could have carpet or hardwood floors and your own washer and dryer. They had a restaurant where you could go to eat and get so many meals for free, but you had to buy in. It's a good place, and we'd like to go to it. They also had an assisted living place and a place for you if you came down with Alzheimer's that you could transfer to. The people were pretty friendly, and they had a lot of activities that you could do and trips. It was like a community. They check on you if you didn't get out of your room at a certain time by knocking on your door to make sure you're OK. They had lots of activities. I had a meal there because they had an open house, and the food was pretty good. They had boats that you could get on and go fishing, and they had a place where you could garden and grow your own flowers. They had a choir that you could join in and a lot of nice things.

Collington was in a beautiful park-like setting and only half an hour from downtown DC. It had nice villas and separate apartments, but the main buildings were lacking in amenities. They didn't look as though they were as well-maintained as they should be. The place seemed isolated to me, and the population seemed much older than I was interested in.

My mom is moving into Collington. The staff is wonderful, the facility is very nice, and they have a wide selection of rooms, both apartment-style as well as cottage-style. They have all different sizes from small studios to large three-bedrooms. The food was pretty good and definitely designed for a senior's palate, so it wasn't spicy. In general, the menu was good.

The environment at Collington Life Care Community is very inviting, and it appears that they have capable staff. If I had a choice of a facility, this would be my first choice. The apartments seemed to be very well appointed. The common spaces are very inviting.

Most people at Collington Life Care were professional, helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The grounds were immaculate, the individual buildings were clean, and the floors as well as the uniforms of the staff were always clean. The facilities were more than adequate. The rooms were sufficient with all the things that you would need like wheelchair access and sit down showers. My husband was there last year for six weeks. The staff who was involved with him with the exception of two people were absolutely wonderful. They have a barbershop, salon, art classes, music room, daily activities daily, full-fledged gym, and they even have 7 acre lake available for fishing. They also had excursions that would take them to the grocery store, and they will also transport you to doctor's appointments as well.

We found Collington -- it was on a 120 acre farm and it appealed to us. They have cottages as opposed to a big building. It's been around for a long time. They offer shuttle service and they have lots of different resident-run activities. They have doctors on site as well as a beauty shop.

We took a tour of Collington Episcopal Life Care. It was very interesting. We got to visit some apartments. They also even had a gentleman who opened up his cottage for the visit. We had a luncheon and a movie. The staff is fantastic. I found the food great because my wife has some severe diet difficulties, and we informed them at the time, and they responded to that need.

Collington is 125 acres and they have a 6-acre glade. It's beautifully landscaped, it has a walking nature trail, it has lots of wild life and the people who live there can have a gardening space. They have a choice of a cottage or an apartment. They have canoes if you want to paddle around or fish on the lake. We spent a night there and the rooms were very nice and spacious with adequate closet space and well-appointed kitchens. The bathrooms were especially nice, very large bathrooms to accommodate wheelchairs. The food is very good. This place is a little bit far from my daughters.

Collington Episcopal Life Care Community had a nice swimming pool. I used to do my water aerobics there. There were big areas where people walked. I had lunch there a couple of times. The food was very delicious. The people there were amenable and friendly. It was a well-maintained establishment.

My father was familiar with Collington Episcopal Life Care Community because his father also went there in the past. He visited the place and decided to move there. The place was very well-regarded. My father seemed happy with his choice.

It was a nice young man from the marketing who gave us a tour of Collington. We had a lot of discussions and he understood what we we're looking for. But you have to take evening meals at a certain time. We tend to eat at a later time, so that was more a problem for us. Also, you have to get either the beltway to drive there. All my friends are aging too, and they don't like driving in the beltway. So it would be hard for them to come and visit.

The staff is very attentive and thorough. They seem like they really care and I can see that some of the nurses have real caring and meaningful relationships with the residents. They ask about each other's families and things like that.

Staff are caring, respectful and competent and friendly. The nursing and assisted living facilities are quiet, clean and spacious. There are many interesting activities and special interest facilities to enjoy, including crafts, sports, swimming, singing, gardening, and woodworking. The grounds are well maintained, ADA accessible, and interesting, with a pond, trails and sitting areas.

My Grandparents lived in this faciliy for many years, any my family would visit often. I can remember the rooms were always very nice and well kept, and the facilities were always very outstanding. We would use the pool and the work out area, and at night we would stop by the card game room. The dining hall was always abuzz with people socializing, and I remember the food always being very good, especially the desert! The outdoor grounds area was also quite nice, and I remember walking around the little pond that they had, complete with several duck families. My grandparents always received the best care while they were here, and I never got the feeling that the facility was lacking in any way.
