This has been my mother’s home for a few months now. Hallmark house was excellent in helping my Mom transition from her home of over 50 years to Hallmark. The staff members are friendly and they really care about the residents. Mom’s room is spacious and includes a full bathroom, room for a nice sized bed, chest of drawers, and a large closet. She also has a small dorm refrigerator purchased by the family for her ice cream and diet cokes. We couldn’t be more happy and most importantly mom is happy and thriving.

About Hallmark House in Louisville, Kentucky
Creating a sense of home and community is critical to the quality of life for a memory care resident. Thats why Hallmark House has limited its capacity to 32 residents ? organized into four neighborhoods or communities of eight residents. This helps to increase familiarity with each other while also minimizing the confusion that comes with having too many people coming together. This also allows us to encourage family to join our residents regularly, for meals, planned facility activities, or even personal activities that were part of the residents home routine prior to moving to Hallmark House. The Best Friends Approach to Alzheimers care is considered the first comprehensive philosophy geared to caregivers. The philosophy suggests that what people with dementia need most is a friend ? a best friend who can empathize with their situation in a loving and positive way. The Best Friends Approach teaches caregivers how to have knack, a way of responding to those with Alzheimers care in a way that preserves their dignity and, in turn, helps them feel safe, secure and valued. The Hallmark House staff also undergoes rigorous training and education conducted by a Master Trainer of the Best Friends Approach to Alzheimers care. I visited Hallmark House. The director took us around and showed us the place and the rooms, the facility, and everything. They were very good and they spent a lot of time with me. It was very well laid out and safe where the patients couldn't get out, but they had plenty of room to roam and they had very nice rooms for them to stay in. Everything was handicap accessible, very clean, and they had a nice activities director. It was a very nice facility. They had a patio where they could go outside. I met with the director of nursing, and she was very, very good, very knowledgeable, and very helpful.

While visiting a friend ,I was very pleased with the way the caregiver was dancing with a resident . The smile on her face was priceless. My friends room was very clean , I was asked several times if I wanted a drink . I give them 5 stars
