"We toured Windsor Gardens. We love the facilities; they were very nice. We have been familiar with it for several years. It was now very well-lighted when before it was dark. They changed that. Everything is much brighter and lighter in there. The rooms were nice. We were looking for a 1-bedroom and one with its own heating and cooling unit in the room so you can control your own temperature in your room. We like some of the activities; they offer lots of activities. My wife was in that kind of stuff. They also have a bus that takes you to local appointments. We have several of those here in Georgetown and we have a few in Lexington. Overall, we were very pleased with it. We liked the people that were there, and we liked the guy that was running it. I think he is a minister. He was very nice and very helpful. And the people were very friendly. We had people walking up to us, speaking to us saying hello, and so forth, and we weren't expecting that. It's a very friendly community, so we were very, very satisfied with it. It's a little bit more expensive than some of those we looked at but was also cheaper than some. So, it's close to being our ballpark. The room would have been completely redecorated and redone because they were working on it. Somebody had moved out and they redo the rooms completely when they move out. They were putting in new carpeting, new paint, and redoing everything in the apartment. The staff were nice. They went out of their way to accommodate us and show us the place. They had a good meal service and a good game area and so forth. They have activities set up by an activities director. The place wasn't that old. My mother lived there, so it hasn't been more than about ten years or so. And then they've redone a lot and refurbished a lot since then, so it's almost all new again. So, the building itself is more attractive."

"The Homeplace at Midway was beautiful. It's small, but it's really nice. They don't take very many residents at a time, but they take very good care of the ones they do. The staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. The dining area was big enough for the amount of people they have there. The people there absolutely loved it. However, they didn't have a room for my husband. They only have room for ten residents that have Alzheimer's or dementia. It's within walking distance from Midway College."

"My aunt moved into the Meadowthorpe Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's wonderful. It's very small and quaint, and they provide a lot of personal attention. It's very nice, it's very well kept, maintenance is well done, and there's no problem. With the COVID, it's kind of hard, but they do have plenty of things to do, and the activities director is very, very wonderful. The value is very good, and they're very willing to work with you. It's probably the best secret in Lexington."

"Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is brand new. They're still in the process of filling the place up with residents, but our family's very happy with the facility and with the people. It's all inclusive. In other words, you'd be paying for services that you didn't need, but in my mom's case, she needs all the services they offer. It fit our needs perfectly. They're comparable to activities in other similar facilities. They have bible study, they have someone come in and play the piano and entertain, they have field trips, they have different speakers come in on different subjects, and they have social activities for the residents. We've been very pleased with the food. They had indicated to us that they had intended to be the best in the area with the quality of food, and they've not disappointed us in that sense. They've been very good attending to the residents' needs. If you don't like what's on the menu, they'll fix you something else. They've been good at that. Their memory unit is in the same building as assisted living."

Our staffing is on care giver to 5 or 6 residents. We have a huge outdoor space, back yard and we are the hidden gem of Lexington. Nestled in the heart of Hamburg just off Liberty Rd. " Loved one has been there for going on 3 years. At 1st OK but didn't last long. 3 Directors in last 3 yrs that I know of..nursing care skelton, weekend care, practically none, food terrible. These comments come directly from a current resident that asked to be moved. . RN care the same and other caregivers. "

"My mom moved to Legacy Reserve at Fritz. The staff is very professional and the place is very clean. They have lots of recreation. They have different kinds of rooms where they could go to do rec and then they have a physical therapy room. It's nice. They do a lot of outside things and inside things and they always have things that every Friday they have something for them called late night or something like that. She likes the food. If it's not what she likes, they'll fix something else for her."

"I went to Cedar Ridge Health Campus. Their assisted living will not do your insurance; you have to pay for it. It was a bit more expensive than some of the others, but they offered a little bit more. They were all private rooms, and each room had its own little kitchenette. There wasn't any stove, but it had a microwave, a small refrigerator, a television, and you could bring your own furniture in. It's a brand new building, so it was very nice. They had group eating, and they offered services where they would supervise your meds if needed, and you could have a car there and you'd be allowed to sign out if you wanted to go out. They gave me a loaf of bread that they made there, and it was delicious. The residents were eating when I was being shown around, and they seemed very friendly and they all had smiles on their faces. Everybody knew everybody."

"Everybody at Liberty Ridge was professional. It's very neat and had a nice environment. I didn't particularly care for the layout of a couple of the rooms, but other than that, they looked nice. They're not very big, but they would serve the purpose if that's what you're trying to find. There were exercise classes and all kinds of stuff. They had a whole bulletin board that was full of stuff. Everything was clean and organized. It was perfect. They have a barbershop, salons, and exercise rooms with physical therapists."

"I have visited Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort. It is only a year old, so it is very nice. The apartment that they showed me was extremely well kept, very clean, and very nice. The entire place is brand new, so everything is top of the line. They have an activity coordinator. They would take my mother to church or to whatever activity that the place coordinated. The staff was very nice."

"We toured Cedarhurst of Nicholasville. It's a fairly new place, just a year old. It was still very clean. The staff was very friendly. They showed us everything, and they answered all our questions. The rooms were bigger compared to the others, and they were clean. They had nice-sized bathrooms."

"Boonesboro Trail Senior Living was an awesome place. It would be a great place to live. There were a lot of seniors that live there becaise they had downsized and got rid of their home. it was not because they needed help or anything. They made that their home. It was beautiful and new. It is only two years old, so everything was great. The guy that I spoke with was honest with me about how much care they would give. I even met a housekeeper. They were awesome. The janitor was the one who greeted me at the door and found the person I was supposed to meet. He was awesome. They have craft periods. They put out a newsletter that keeps people in the know for what they have going on. They even have parades and stuff. It sounds like they can keep people busy, if people are interested. They have a library. There was a lady sitting in there that comes down every day, sits, and reads in the library. She likes to get the sun and read out there where people stop by and talk to her. They do laundry once a week, change your bedding, and stuff. It all comes with the price. If you need extra, you can pay extra. I did not try the food but they gave me oatmeal raisin cookies. I brought them home, and they were awesome."
