Memory Care Communities in Georgetown, KY

"The Homeplace at Midway was beautiful. It's small, but it's really nice. They don't take very many residents at a time, but they take very good care of the ones they do. The staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. The dining area was big enough for the amount of people they have there. The people there absolutely loved it. However, they didn't have a room for my husband. They only have room for ten residents that have Alzheimer's or dementia. It's within walking distance from Midway College."

"My aunt moved into the Meadowthorpe Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's wonderful. It's very small and quaint, and they provide a lot of personal attention. It's very nice, it's very well kept, maintenance is well done, and there's no problem. With the COVID, it's kind of hard, but they do have plenty of things to do, and the activities director is very, very wonderful. The value is very good, and they're very willing to work with you. It's probably the best secret in Lexington."

"Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is a much larger facility so there's a lot more people. The rooms are really small. The staff was great and went out of their way and followed up several times. The memory care wing staff seemed great, approachable, and interested. I talked to residents and they said the staff is great as well. They go on lots of trips, which I think is wonderful, and they do beer tastings, movies, and get-togethers. They also have church service. The atmosphere is like a nice hotel and it's pretty spectacular when you walk in. The dining area is fabulous, open, and it looks like it should have white tablecloths because it's that nice. They have kept the same chef and staff since they opened which is a testament to how good they are to their staff. The menu that they had went on forever."

Our staffing is on care giver to 5 or 6 residents. We have a huge outdoor space, back yard and we are the hidden gem of Lexington. Nestled in the heart of Hamburg just off Liberty Rd. " Loved one has been there for going on 3 years. At 1st OK but didn't last long. 3 Directors in last 3 yrs that I know of..nursing care skelton, weekend care, practically none, food terrible. These comments come directly from a current resident that asked to be moved. . RN care the same and other caregivers. "

"The Lantern at Morning Pointe was a newer facility. It was very clean. It probably provided a few more options, but I thought the main description I would give was that the Lantern was bigger and more wide open. We actually took my mother-in-law to view it -- however, she liked the other facility we visited. It was probably because even though the Lantern appeared to be big open spaces, it wasn't that overwhelming. The rooms were equally beautiful. The hallway was twice the width and the ceilings were higher. They had warm color carpet, color wallpapers, light fixture that would have been homey and not institutional. That was still good, but I thought that with my mother-in-law's sight and hearing impairments, she liked to be more contained, and those wider hallways and higher ceilings probably just overwhelmed her a little bit. Again, the staff was very friendly. They were very welcoming. It looked like there were activities going on. There were actually a few more rooms dedicated to activities that might make a person with Alzheimer's feel at home, like a kitchen area that had towels, things that they could fold and dishes they could put away, kindly of like a playroom almost. "

"I toured. The community is excellent. I can't say enough good about them. They are just excellent. The staff who gave the tour, Ryan, was excellent in answering questions. The rooms are excellent, too. They're clean as they can be. I like the friendliness of the people and the construction of the place. The dining area was magnificent, too."

"My mom moved to Legacy Reserve at Fritz. The staff is very professional and the place is very clean. They have lots of recreation. They have different kinds of rooms where they could go to do rec and then they have a physical therapy room. It's nice. They do a lot of outside things and inside things and they always have things that every Friday they have something for them called late night or something like that. She likes the food. If it's not what she likes, they'll fix something else for her."

"I went to Cedar Ridge Health Campus. Their assisted living will not do your insurance; you have to pay for it. It was a bit more expensive than some of the others, but they offered a little bit more. They were all private rooms, and each room had its own little kitchenette. There wasn't any stove, but it had a microwave, a small refrigerator, a television, and you could bring your own furniture in. It's a brand new building, so it was very nice. They had group eating, and they offered services where they would supervise your meds if needed, and you could have a car there and you'd be allowed to sign out if you wanted to go out. They gave me a loaf of bread that they made there, and it was delicious. The residents were eating when I was being shown around, and they seemed very friendly and they all had smiles on their faces. Everybody knew everybody."

"This community is beautiful. The spacious 2 bedroom is perfect for my mother and father. We toured on the weekend and there was still activities going on with plenty to do. Also the food there looks delicious. They will be moving in next month and we could not be more excited for them."

"Everybody at Liberty Ridge was professional. It's very neat and had a nice environment. I didn't particularly care for the layout of a couple of the rooms, but other than that, they looked nice. They're not very big, but they would serve the purpose if that's what you're trying to find. There were exercise classes and all kinds of stuff. They had a whole bulletin board that was full of stuff. Everything was clean and organized. It was perfect. They have a barbershop, salons, and exercise rooms with physical therapists."

"I have visited Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort. It is only a year old, so it is very nice. The apartment that they showed me was extremely well kept, very clean, and very nice. The entire place is brand new, so everything is top of the line. They have an activity coordinator. They would take my mother to church or to whatever activity that the place coordinated. The staff was very nice."

"My husband is at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Frankfort. The nurses and aides that work there are more on their toes and are more aware of what my husband is doing than what they knew over where he was for five weeks. They've been good. He gets three meals and snacks, and he is getting his medication on a regular basis. He is getting physical and occupational therapy and a little bit of speech therapy. The only way you can see him is through a visual visit because we are not allowed in through the front door because of Covid. It makes it hard not just to the family, but to the person that is in there. When he falls or if he is having an agitated morning, they'll call me and see if I can calm him down. They've been very helpful not just for us but for him. He does not know where he is; he always thinks he is in a local motel. The other day, he told me that they were keeping him in jail. From what I can see virtually, the room comes furnished with a bed, a night table and a chair. They prefer you bring your own stuff, but they have access to stuff people leave there, so they took care of all that. They even picked him up from the hospital. They've been friendly and nice, and they've been good to him. They call me if he falls or has a bad morning. The only complaint I have is that it is too expensive. He is very picky, but he enjoys the food."

"We toured Cedarhurst of Nicholasville. It's a fairly new place, just a year old. It was still very clean. The staff was very friendly. They showed us everything, and they answered all our questions. The rooms were bigger compared to the others, and they were clean. They had nice-sized bathrooms."
