I didn't care too much for Liberty Ridge Senior Living Community because it was a lot older, so the rooms looked outdated. As far as the staff, everything is good. I don't care too much about it being two floors. They have an exercise area and a dining area. And I think they do the activity in the dining area. Cleanliness was fine. That was nice. It's very small, it's quaint. I had no problems getting in and out of the facility and stuff like that, but I'm most concerned that most of it was outdated.

We've decided to keep my mom at Liberty Ridge and just move her to a smaller room that was more affordable for her. We love it there so much. The staff is wonderful - the administration, the director, and everyone. We've been pleased. My mother moved up to assisted living, and she's been in a 1-bedroom apartment for probably eight years. I just recently moved her to a smaller room. Her room is beautiful. It's very light. The view is pretty, and I just had all good things to say. They have an activity director named Sarah, who's fabulous. She's got a lot to do for them. Like when I left, they were watching a movie in their movie room. There are exercise classes multiple days a week. There are movies, going out to dinner, grocery shopping, Dollar Tree shopping, and there's bingo all the time. There are activities in the building, and there are a lot of activities outside of the building, too. Their food is good. We eat there together sometimes. They do have a dining room where all of the residents dine together at different tables. If you're having a family come in and eat with you, there's a little private dining area with French doors that you can close off to make it more quiet and intimate. We looked around at other places and this just suits us. It's very cozy and very homey. The residents and the staff are very family-like. It's a perfect place for us. My mother gets excellent care. The care means more to me than the places that have crystal chandeliers and granite fireplaces. It's more like the place where you live. It's very clean. There's a beautiful little garden. There are benches out front. It's on a 38-acre property and it was originally the Mission Church. So, there's a lot of green space around it. There's green space in front of it. There are cottages around it. You can sit out front on the benches or you can sit out back. There's a flower garden. Some of the residents grow their own vegetables in the raised gardens. There are lots of trees, and it's very pretty. I've spent the last month or so researching different places. And certainly, we're staying here because, for the money, it's absolutely the best deal going.

Provider Response

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so glad you and your loved one decided to remain with us. The home-like atmosphere can not be beaten.

Everybody at Liberty Ridge was professional. It's very neat and had a nice environment. I didn't particularly care for the layout of a couple of the rooms, but other than that, they looked nice. They're not very big, but they would serve the purpose if that's what you're trying to find. There were exercise classes and all kinds of stuff. They had a whole bulletin board that was full of stuff. Everything was clean and organized. It was perfect. They have a barbershop, salons, and exercise rooms with physical therapists.

We placed our name on the waiting list for Liberty Ridge. They were very nice, took time to answer our questions and talk and explain what they had. Then we went and she showed us one of the garden homes. That's what we are wanting right now, a garden home. My husband is not well, but he's not needing assistance all the time. That's what we liked about the garden home, that we would have our independence, but then if we needed help, they would be there, and then later on something else. The garden home was nice, or what would fit our needs. There were no steps. It's two bedrooms, two baths, and a kitchen. And we liked the sunroom and they had a little patio. And it just seemed like a good place that we think that we would like to be. The only downside would be it's going to take a little while to come up to our turn because she said, the ones that were moving in, had been on the list for a year and a half. They have appliances, and they have the washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, whatever you need, it's there. The staff was very nice. She knew what she was talking about, she was well informed or knew about the facility, and she was good. I don't didn't have any complaints or anything about that. And, all the time, we didn't seem rushed and we could look around and especially in the garden home. When she was talking to us, all her time was with us. So that was good. They have a lot of activities, and plans during the day if you want to participate. It sounds good.

My mother-in-law moved in at Liberty Ridge around the first week of October. They were very kind, helpful, and supportive. My mother-in-law is in a 1-bedroom apartment and I thought it was nice. She felt very welcome there. They have a nice lobby with couches where the residents would congregate. They have a big dining area with lots of windows, and off of that is a very nice courtyard. One thing that drew us to that place is that it's not a very large community. And because my mother-in-law can't see well, she feels more comfortable moving around. I've tried their food and I liked it. I think the food is very good. They have a lot of activities. They have exercise classes, Bible classes, movies, entertainment, and sing-alongs, and they go out to lunch sometimes. They have a beauty salon, an exercise room, a physical therapy room, and an area with books and puzzles. The staff there is great. Mom has to have these light bulbs and they got that for her. She has to have the remote control for the heat thing and they got those. The place is very clean, welcoming, and inviting. There are cottages all around it for independent living and they are just beautiful. The landscaping is pretty. There's a pond in front of the building. It's kind of like being in the country but you're not. It's very pretty.

Liberty Ridge seemed to be a really good place as far as being able to get around. Their prices were very good because they are a church-supported and non-profit facility. The residents there seemed very friendly. The staff that took us around was friendly and informative. The rooms were furnished, with a microwave and a small refrigerator. All meals were included, too. They don't have any cooking appliances in the memory care part. We also saw a courtyard there.

I toured Liberty Ridge and it was very nice when I went there. The staff was very knowledgeable and very informative. It's a beautiful location. I went into the dining area and the main area, and they had a gorgeous sunroom. I didn't have a meal there, but I had coffee. It's a gorgeous community.

Liberty Ridge was a smaller community. It's very well cared for. I found the staff very helpful. There were different options as far as the size of the rooms and the cost of the rooms for each individual's needs. Mainly, I liked the location and the personnel. They had three or four efficiency-sized studio apartments ranging from around 300 square feet up to maybe 700 square feet, which were better as far as pricing options and how much room an individual needed whether or not they needed access using a wheelchair, and things of that nature. The cabinetry was low enough to use with a wheelchair, which I found helpful. Unlike some of the other places, they didn't have full-size refrigerators. They were more user-friendly for people needing more therapy for walking or something like that. If you were on a walker or in a wheelchair, then you have easy access to those things. The showers in the bathrooms were elevated, so it was more difficult to get in the shower for an elderly individual with walking or standing issues. But other than that, the rooms were clean, they were nice, and they were well cared for.

I liked the openness of Liberty Ridge. There were a lot of windows and outdoor facilities for them to sit and enjoy. The staff was very courteous and very friendly. The rooms were very adequate and they had activity rooms and gathering areas. All the residents seemed very happy and I saw a lot of socializing.

I visited Liberty Ridge. They were very pleasant and very nice. It was open, the staff was very friendly, and the residents seemed to be very happy. There were several of them out at the time enjoying some entertainment in the breakroom. My mother really liked the fact that they actually have a minister on staff daily, and she actually stopped and waved at him. He came out of his office and talked to her for a few minutes. The apartments were absolutely beautiful, and they have several options to choose from. We looked at the food menu and the variety was pretty nice, so Mom would be able to pick and choose what kind of entree she would like daily, and the breakfast looked like an amazing menu as well. The grounds themselves were really nice. It's like a park-like setting. It's tucked back in a little alcove. It's a pretty busy area, but it was kind of hidden, so it was really nice. Residents can get out and walk. There's a pond there, geese, and all kinds of stuff. It looks like a very pleasant place. It could be a very viable option for Mom. It looks like a very nice place to be. The staff we talked to was very pleasant. We talked to the social activities manager. She was very pleasant, very upbeat and fun, and then we talked to the minister. We met the lady taking care of the front office, and she was very pleasant and helpful, too. It looks like a little older community, but still well kept and very clean. The individual apartments were absolutely beautiful. It looked like everything was modern. They probably kept those up really, really well.

One of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make - choosing an assisted living facility for my 85 year old mother. From the moment I spoke with them on the phone, I knew this was the place. Everyone - Bruce, Tina, and the team could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We’ve signed her lease and can’t wait to move in !! Don’t make the mistake of considering a “corporate chain” facility - visit Liberty Ridge and see the difference!

Valerie thank you for these great comments! Everyone at Liberty Ridge works daily to make a joyful difference in the lives of our residents and visitors. Liberty Ridge is truly more than a home...we're family!

I liked Liberty Ridge. It appeared good, but it wasn't suitable for my mother because you needed to be a little more independent to be successful there. It was clean and nice, but I didn't like the rooms as much. I didn't find the staff as anxious to be helpful. The dining area looked more like a cafeteria, which was fine, but I wasn't impressed. They had a nice garden area.

Provider Response

Geoff thank you for your feedback. Liberty Ridge offers a variety of sizes and styles of apartments along with restaurant-style dining. Sorry, everything didn't meet your expectations during your brief visit. We count it an honor to provide loving care to all who call Liberty Ridge home.

Liberty Ridge didn't have as much memory care. The accommodation was very nice, but the room that my mother would have was extremely small. I don't think she would have been happy with it. Nevertheless, the staff was very nice and very cordial.

I visited Liberty Ridge. They were friendly, but the place was very somber. I looked at a studio and it was very nice. The staff members were nice and professional, but reserved. Like the people were just sitting around and looking at each other.

Provider Response

T.W. thank you for visiting Liberty Ridge. We were honored by your visit. During the Christmas & New Years Holidays, our activities calendar is lighter and relaxed atmosphere is a result. Most of our residents and staff are gone visiting and enjoy family during this time period.

I was impressed with Liberty Ridge, and I like the idea that it has independent living, assisted living, and then memory care. The person who assisted me was very informative and took his time in letting me view the facilities, so I didn't feel rushed, and answered all my questions. There's an option to make your own food or buy meals in their cafeteria.

Memory Care provides residents with around-the-clock care. Personal rooms, each with it's own bathroom, allow privacy. Communal meals and social activities do allow people the opportunity to mingle with others on a regular basis. The staff members do check in on residents frequently depending on their needs. All medications are supervised when given to residents. Small service animals are allowed.

Liberty Ridge is homier, not quite as fancy, and much less expensive. The surroundings are in a horse park -- you see horses, pastures; it's Lexington, horse country -- and it's beautiful. They have 2-bedrooms, and they have a chef. We had lunch, and they had lots of options.

My mom is now at Liberty Ridge Senior Living, which is very nice and neat. The people are very caring. The rooms are large, clean, and single-occupancy with large windows. For activities, they have people coming in to stage events and movie nights. They play bingo and church services, and have a TV room, library, and outdoor walking path.

I did visit Liberty Ridge for my dad. It was excellent. They had homes as well that would hold the grounds that would maintain the residents' independence. They also had somebody that would go in to do some light housekeeping, laundry, and possibly some cooking. The layouts of the room were convenient. I thought it was nice. They have open floor plan, like the kitchen had a bar that separated the living area from the kitchen. It did have a sink, but it didn't have a stove. It did have a microwave where a person could maybe warm up some soup or pop some popcorn. The staff was really nice.

I chose Liberty Ridge for my wife. The staff is very well trained and very accommodating. The food is excellent. They have a chef on board. In the particular wing where my wife was as a memory care patient, they brought the food to us in a small dining area of only about 7 to 8 people. My wife's room is ample; it is big enough. It has a bed and a bath. It has a dresser. I had to supply the bed, dresser, nightstand, and television. They didn't come with the room. There are not very many activities in the dementia patients' area; however, they are allowed to go to the common area in the dining room and participate in like bingo and other games if they want to. Security is very good. At Liberty Ridge, they are an excellent corporation.

The staff is very helpful and seemed to be caring in Liberty Ridge. Mom has a 1-bedroom, living room, bathroom, and partial kitchen. I had lunch there a couple of times, and the food seems good. They had bingo and cornhole, and they bring in country music or dancers. They had several inside the facility, they also go out to dinner, and they do other functions outside. You can get in -- there is a sign and a register operated clock -- but it seems pretty secure. They have assistants that make sure that the people get to it and make sure they are fed. They help them get dressed and bathe, but they don’t have a nurse on staff.

Liberty Ridge was a lot more expensive, but it was more recently built, and it was very elegant. The dining room was more elegant. They had a resident chaplain -- a woman who was an ordained minister who lives in the home -- and I liked that. Also, they had a Sunday service every Sunday by the same group or church that sponsored it -- Pentecostal -- and that was fine with me. However, they didn't have many activities that I would want to take part in. I saw their menu, and they had an experienced chef.

We chose Liberty Ridge Senior Living Community because of the appropriateness of their activities and extra-curricular activities given my mother-in-law's interests. She is probably not your stereotypical woman. That being said, we had to find something that was a faith-based, non-profit type of situation. In her previous life, so to speak, she was always going to Bible studies, working, and gardening. So this place had Bible studies and a garden in which she could participate. We found some things that had to do with woodworking that she could do, too. Everything that I thought she would participate in, they had there. They did all the typical things that most people do, but there were just a couple of things that I thought would engage her more. This place actually offers three meals a day, which was another thing. She has always hated cooking and she really doesn't care about eating. So with the three meals a day, they come upstairs to knock on the door to make sure -- number one -- that she is OK and -- number two -- to see that she is nourished and that she isn't just eating junk food in her apartment. The staff was very forthcoming and if they did not know the answer, they would find out and come right back to us with it. They were very knowledgeable. It is not a large community and they knew their residents relatively well.

My mom stayed in Liberty Ridge for 18 months and the place was excellent. It was a very nice facility. The service was great. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my mom. Residents there got to do a lot of activities and the food was delicious. It's a bit pricey though.

The facility is very well kept and has very good service to the elderly. I visit her quite often and i've never heard her complain about anything while she has been admitted in the facility. Its very lively and has a good set of activities to keep residents busy as well as good meals and care takers. The rooms are amazing and the scenery around the complex is breath taking. I'm more than comfortable with her staying there for as long as she's happy.

While the location is not ideal (and certainly does not appear as one might imagine based on their promotional materials) the service and quality of the staff is outstanding; they offer full meal service, health clinics, and the grounds have a wide array of recreations locations. My mother loves being able to attend to the small garden on her patio, and the aides are always happy to assist her. They have, in my opinion, done very well at looking after my mother and have gone out of their way to keep us updated on her condition whether by weekly phone calls, and their newsletters are helpful in keeping up with new services and events. We're always made to feel welcome when we visit and have not run into any obstacles to do so. We're encouraged to play an active part in the community. The monthly rates are a bit high for the area (over 2000 dollars), but I believe the service and the staff attentiveness more than make up for the price and my mother often talks about staff members as being her friends. While their included services are great, their optional services really make them shine; whether they're escorting my mother to meal services or giving her transportation around the area. I would highly recommend Liberty Ridge.

I've been a resident here for two years now. I really was not ready to move to an assisted living residence, but after my heart attack, I couldn't live by myself any longer. My daughters looked at several places and decided that Liberty Ridge was the place for their mom! I especially like that it's a small community and that the employees are caring and compassionate. I've already asked some of my friends to come and visit here and consider it when making their own decision about moving to an assisted living residence.
