"Hometown Manor of Frankfort was new but awfully expensive for just a bedroom. They had a little library set up with books against the wall in the lobby. The staff was nice. They had a dining area and sitting area."

"My mother has been a resident at Lexington Country Place for two years now. Because of her dementia, it was no longer safe for her to live alone. I did a lot of research before placing her at Lexington Country Place. I wanted specialized care for her medical conditions, and a friend of the family recommended Lexington Country Place to us. I was happy with their long standing place in the community and how long they have been providing care. They have great administrators that help get the process started, and who are very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of my questions. When I initially took a tour and saw the nursing staff in action I knew that my mother would be well taken care of, and I knew that the staff were well educated and would be able to give her the care she needed. I visit my mother very frequently, and whether she is having a good day or bad day in regards to her dementia, the staff is always patient and kind to her. I am very happy with our decision to use Lexington Country Place. "

"My aunt is in Morning Pointe of Lexington. She's doing very well there, so we're going to have her stay there. The care seems to be good. They didn't come up to the room too much, so we did talk to them about giving her a bath more frequently. She's getting to know the people that are around her, and she's meeting new people and getting friends there. At first, it was a little difficult, but she's starting to like it. They have a lot of activities for her. She was doing bingo, and she had her hair done there. They play cards, and they have a cafeteria. They let your family eat there when you go to visit, and the room seems good. The food is not too bad, but it's not the best. There are different varieties of food. "

"My tour experience at Friendship Towers was excellent but it's not exactly what we were looking for at the time. The facility was clean, not one of the best places I've been to, but it's nice. The staff that I met there were great. They had a lot of activities going on, they had a salon and also a library."

"My cousin and her husband live at Sayre Christian Village - Friendship Towers Assisted Living. My cousin went with me on the tour as well. It was great; it was wonderful. We even had residents that came up to us not knowing what we were doing and talked about how they liked it there, so that was great. They actually provided lunch for me there, and that was part of their service they provide. The food was delicious. It is just like going to a restaurant; it is great. The residents are pretty busy. When I got there, my cousin's husband had been to an exercise class, and then they were going to have bingo. They have church services, movie nights, book readings, and all kinds of things. They have quite a few activities. They had been on an outing the day before we went, and they're going to the Legends games. They have all kinds of activities. I'd like to live there actually. The staff I interacted with and the ones I saw interacting are very friendly."

"My father was recently at Tanbark after having covid. He was treated with great care and respect. The room was comfortable and the staff treating my Dad was exceptional. The social worker, Latoya, did an amazing job of making sure all of his needs were met. Sandy, Dawn and the two Mikes as well as Mathew the Physical Therapist should be recognized as well. The food was good, as I was offered a guest tray during visits. Tanbark also provided transportation for Dad so that he could visit his doctor during his stay. They also brought a doctor to his room when he was having issues with a wound. Overall we are very happy with the care he was given."

"I did a tour of Legacy Reserve at Fritz. I think the only thing that kind of put me off would be the location; it was not as easy to get in and out of. It was on very busy roads, it was just a little more difficult, that was the only drawback. That was not a big drawback, but it was just a very busy area. The people were nice and efficient; I had to be with Jacqueline, who was in charge of the memory care. It was very clean and efficiently run. They had an outside garden and they had things planted that the residents could grow if they wanted to, and they had access to that outside area. I think that's nice."

"I liked everything about Cedarhurst of Beaumont. Ashley gave the tour there, very, very informative. She wasn't just trying to get a room occupied. She was also very informative about memory care, and told me that even if I don't choose their community, if I have any other questions, feel free to call her as well. And she has checked up on me just to see if I found anything or if I had any questions since I've had the tour. Very, very nice person. And the community itself is very, very nice, and well kept up as well. The rooms were very nice, she told me that any time that a resident moves out, they redo the room, like the flooring, everything, which I didn't know about. But she said that's what they do. So everything is new when you move into their community. The dining area is huge, it's very, very big. They also have activities, like the crafts, and they have an outdoor area. They have a TV room where the residents can go and watch TV."

Our single story community is set apart since it is small in size with only 15 private studio rooms, and are locally owned and operated. "I loved Meadowthorpe Assisted Living & Memory Care, but it was way above my brother's budget. If he had the budget, I would move him in there today. I liked the cottage-style setup that they had. It had 8 residents around a central living room and dining room. They had a special room if you wanted to have a family gathering. The decor was beautiful, and the staff was friendly, professional, courteous, and informative. They had an excellent schedule of activities for their residents. They gave me the food menu for the week and it looked excellent. And then if the resident didn't like the choice that they had, there were other things that they could get a la carte."

"Everybody at Liberty Ridge was professional. It's very neat and had a nice environment. I didn't particularly care for the layout of a couple of the rooms, but other than that, they looked nice. They're not very big, but they would serve the purpose if that's what you're trying to find. There were exercise classes and all kinds of stuff. They had a whole bulletin board that was full of stuff. Everything was clean and organized. It was perfect. They have a barbershop, salons, and exercise rooms with physical therapists."

"I had a friend who was at The Willows at Citation. That's a very nice place. My friend was there for nine months. Of course, that was during COVID, so there was a lot of stuff that was curtailed, but it was very clean. The nurses were responsive. Everybody there was just as nice as they could be. The food was good. I liked it. My friend, however, was very particular. She called the chef in from the kitchen and tried to give him different recipes, so that would make things more senior-friendly. But the food I thought was very good. It was during COVID that my friend was there, so they had a happy hour, they would bring independent retailers from outside for the residents to be able to purchase clothes or jewelry or purses or stuff like that. They had a room where you could just go and be with your family. They were very accommodating when it came to just doing things with the family. They had buses that would take you to the doctor. They had an activity director, too. The grounds were in a very good condition. They had good people working on the grounds, and they did a great job. "
