My father-in-law is in Walden Point. He has been there for about 3 years. However, they changed the food there, and change is a tough thing for a guy that age. So, he is putting up with the things that he doesn’t like there in order to stay. He likes the people there, and he likes the people that run the place. He is in a one-bedroom apartment. He does not get involved, but they have activities. They have people come in and play music. They have a craft room where they can do all sort of stuffs. They have an exercise room. He is in a scooter, so he doesn’t do exercises.

The bright star staff take care of the nursing side and they are untrained and unprofessional! The owner won't return any phone calls and listen to any issues with the bright star staff! The food you to be prepared on site by Hyvee they fired them and now several meals on wheels providers come in and the food is disgusting! The only good thing they have is the administrator

I liked the rooms at Walden Point. There was an open area that everybody could go in to. It's got a little store and the residents could play cards. The staff was good. The rooms were very big, actually. Their price was very attractive.

The Walden Point assisted living facility was recommended by a friend in the region as an option for his mother. The backyard featured many places for seniors to enjoy around the grounds safely. The property also had plenty of park-like space with tranquil, large trees and nicely manicured lawns. It looked like a very nice community with a home-style atmosphere. We could see that the residents there are content and well cared for when we arrived. As we walked through the building, there was plenty of fresh air and light against a very nice decor. The main dining room was comfortable and spacious. The residents were offered healthy, home-style cooked meals in a casual restaurant setting. The menus included many interesting dishes, as well as the usual American fare. The food looked and smelled delicious, as well as healthily prepared. Snacks were offered regularly throughout the day and whenever residents desire them. The private rooms were decorated tastefully with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Each unit has nice views of the surrounding area. Bathrooms were designed with safety rails and seats. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment was available throughout the day and they also offer instruction on DVD. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards to get some exercise and enjoy the outside grounds. The activities included on the calendar of events included many stimulating activities like fun ways to exercise with nature walks and the opportunity to enjoy all that the area offers. The residents all looked very well taken care of by and seemed content with the kind and caring staff. It is clear that the seniors are enjoying this living environment.
