"We've been very happy with Lakeside Crossing. It's kept up nice and we have beautiful facilities. We've got indoor/outdoor pools, a workout room, a craft room, a community hall for the dances, and a library. Most of the staff here are very friendly. We just got a new manager, and he is very nice and has done a lot of upkeep on the place to make sure things are getting done. I am very pleased with him. They also have card games, music, and bingo for activities."

"Garden Manor had small apartments. There was a library and a small place in the back where you could plant flowers. They served one nice big meal a day. If you wanted something for later in the evening, you could get a box of food to take with you. They would come and clean once a week. They went on trips for shopping in a van. It was just what I needed. The people were very nice, very friendly, and outgoing. "

"Magnolia Bridge at Murrells Inlet was very nice. It's terrific. It's roomy, It's new and had bright windows. The layout of the rooms was spacious. The apartments had a nice flow, and the kind of movement from room to room was very nice. They're laid out very well. Mom is going to be in a single-story townhouse. All utilities would be included as part of the price except for a telephone. We would be responsible for that. They come in and clean once a month, So, there's some benefit there. They have a central building where they have a dining room. So, if you want to cook for yourself, you can, but if you don't want to, you can go eat in the dining room and they make breakfast, lunch, and dinner and everything. Everything was very affordable in terms of meals. The main building had multiple floors, but there were elevators. So, if you're having trouble moving around, you can take the elevator up to the upper floors. The townhouses were all single story and they were typically side by side. So two townhouses would be attached. The kitchens were big. The layout was nice. It's terrific. The square footage, including the garage, was 1700 square feet. So, they have a fair amount of room, but not too big."

"I liked everything about River Park Senior Living. I didn't try the food during my tour, but I ate there at a party, and the food was good. The staff answered all my questions. Everything was clean and in order."

"I am a resident of The Lakes at Litchfield. The community itself is beautiful. It looks like a neighborhood. It's not in a city or near a lot of industrial kinds of stuff. It's very pretty. There are lakes around. They have both single-family homes, duplexes, and apartments. They call them villas, but they're apartments, one and two bedrooms, and very roomy, plenty of room. The food is very good. Included in your monthly fee, you'll get a food stipend, and part of that covers one meal a day, or you can have more if you want. They give you $600 a month, and if you have a husband or a significant other, it's doubled. I have a two-bedroom apartment with a nice-sized living room. I've lived in one of the duplexes before, and they needed cottages. There was a big demand for them, so they offered me a deal to move into a villa. The bedrooms in the villa are bigger than those in the cottages, but I went from a three-bedroom cottage to a two-bedroom villa, and I have plenty of room. It's very nicely done. It has sunrooms. We have a great staff right now, a super staff. There's fine dining, but we also have a bistro where you can get sandwiches and stuff if you don't want a big, heavy meal. It's really nice. At the moment, the community is 25 years old, so there's some wear and tear and some things that need updating, but nothing critical. It's showing its age a little bit. You can be as busy or as lazy as you want. There's a lot of stuff going on all the time. It's great."

"Mom has been at Sunset Creek Commons for 4 years now. She has a really nice apartment there. She wears a medical alert necklace. The thing that I like the best is the manager and the maintenance help. They stay on top of things, and they are very responsive if there's an issue with the apartment. The place is very clean. They have a no smoking policy, which I like. If they catch someone smoking, then they are evicted. They go into the apartments twice a year to inspect them and make sure that people are keeping their apartments clean. If not, they are given a timeline of cleaning it up. They have a meeting room that they can use. Occasionally, they have a potluck dinner."
