"Arbor Landing was excellent. Janet -- the director -- was excellent, beyond helpful, and professional. Our frustration is my mother doesn’t want to relocate down there next to our house, so she is probably not going there although we want her to. We were very impressed with the employees and the facility. The dining area was very neat, clean, and fresh. The whole place was great. We’re hoping my mother changes her mind, and we’ll go there. The pricing for us was well below the facility that she set into at Reilly, so it was very good for us at all counts. It’s very quiet and private. There’s not an excess of activity that I have seen at other places because sometimes when you deal with an elderly member of the family, you want some privacy. "

"We toured Portside at Grande Dunes. I liked the size because it can accommodate our furniture. The people were extremely friendly and very helpful. It is close to the hospital, which was another plus for us. They have a big refrigerator. The person who took us around was excellent. She explained everything and helped me out with the insurance that I had. She told me what I could do, how to handle things, and all kinds of stuff. They have activities, and some people will assist you if you need it. The building was very clean."

"The Indigo at Carolina Forest is my favorite. I visited their independent living community, and the staff is excellent and very friendly. They introduced me as we went throughout the building. They gave an excellent tour and feedback on the different facilities and the things they had to offer. The dining area was particularly pleasant. I saw a lot of resident interaction there, and that was probably the most positive point for this place. It looked like the residents were engaged and interacting."

"My experience with Terrabella Myrtle Beach was fine. The problem that I have is the kitchen area doesn't have a lot of cabinets. They don't have a microwave. I would have to purchase that on my own. It just wasn't as crisp, and the units were smaller, and the property had less amenities. I would have to buy something that would elongate the countertop. They need to upgrade and do something about the kitchen. It would be better if I could see some floor plans, but their brochures are so small. Even with a magnifying glass, I still can't see them, whereas other properties had them all printed out large enough for me to see. They have a low initial cost, but I don't believe all the costs that are associated are included, and that bothers me. If I'm gonna live someplace for the rest of my life, I need to know what the bottom line is, and they don't do that. I liked the place, except that it's very small. The kitchenettes are very small and I would have to put my extra dollars into that, and that is not what I'm looking for. What I'm looking for is all encompassing costs. Although the people were great and the tour was great, I'm hesitant to consider them because I don't think that they're coming forward with what the total cost would be."

"My sister is at River Park Senior Living. I found the facility attractive. The staff members were very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Besides meals, they have an exercise program. They bring people in for entertainment. They got my sister a cake, and they had a little birthday party for her. They have a beautiful screened-in porch that they can sit on and enjoy the weather and flowers. The dining area looked like a little restaurant with tables. They have a menu posted every day, so they know what breakfast, lunch, and dinner are. From what I have observed, the meals look pretty good. It was not cheap."

"I like that the admission person here was very personable. She worked hard to get everything we would need in place for my father. They supply appliances, and my parents are going into a two-bedroom-two-bath apartment that has all the features of a kitchen like a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, and all that stuff. They have a washer and dryer. The staff who gave the tour was awesome. They provide three hot meals a day, and the set-up is more like restaurant style so that when you sit down, someone comes and waits on you and serves the food to you. The building is beautiful. They keep it very clean."
