Independent Living Communities in Little River, SC

"The community is bright and spacious. I liked the layout and various floor plans they offered for consideration. My mother selected a 2BR/2BA unit and felt welcome from day one. Many staff members greeted her and know her by name. They do a great job with activities and we are happy with our decision to join the Barclay at Little River family!"

"My parents were very impressed with the staff. It was very nice. It had an opportunity for my father to receive some additional care if needed. The only problem is the rooms were a little small. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. They showed me a two-bedroom, a one-bedroom, and the dining area. They're all very nice, but the amount of living space was not what they were looking for. They had transportation, activities planned for them outside, and three meals a day."

"We toured Portside at Grande Dunes. I liked the size because it can accommodate our furniture. The people were extremely friendly and very helpful. It is close to the hospital, which was another plus for us. They have a big refrigerator. The person who took us around was excellent. She explained everything and helped me out with the insurance that I had. She told me what I could do, how to handle things, and all kinds of stuff. They have activities, and some people will assist you if you need it. The building was very clean."

"The Indigo at Carolina Forest is my favorite. I visited their independent living community, and the staff is excellent and very friendly. They introduced me as we went throughout the building. They gave an excellent tour and feedback on the different facilities and the things they had to offer. The dining area was particularly pleasant. I saw a lot of resident interaction there, and that was probably the most positive point for this place. It looked like the residents were engaged and interacting."

"I chose here because it's close to the area that I've lived in for the last 15-20 years. As a community, it sort of gives you as much assistance as you need but lets you be as independent as you can be. It's been good. The room has a lot of room in it, lots of closet spaces, and room for furniture. It has a small kitchen with a full-size refrigerator. It has an outside patio, a nice outdoors outside the unit. The food is good, you get 3 meals a day with usually 2 different choices for each meal or two different entrees. You choose one or the other. There's a menu weekly so you'd know ahead of time what you're going to reserve. The food is filling, you're not stuffed but you're full. At times it could be better but it's usually good."

"Thanks for taking very good care of my mom while she was there. This is a very nice facility with large comfortable rooms. Everything is so clean and beautiful in the public areas. Mom was very well fed. All the employees are friendly and caring."
