Memory Care Communities in Little River, SC

"The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach was previously owned by another group. The staff they have are just some of the sweetest, kindest, and most concerned people that I know. They are very patient with my mom and very understanding. They all love her and they all talk about her. I'm there every day, so they all know me and anything I ask of them, they are perfectly willing to do. Sometimes they have some staffing issues. I think they've tried to hire new staff because of the changeover, but they still got a few places that they're short-staffed. Every once in a while, I will notice that there is a little bit of a lag time from the time I ask for something to when it gets done, but for the most part, they're right on top of things. They do whatever you ask and they always do it with a smile. They're very gracious. So, I have been very pleased with her care. The food is very good and they have a new chef that they have just recently acquired. They're trying to kind of spice things up a little bit. They have an activities director, too, and just this month, they've decorated some pumpkins and have them set out on display. They have now started working on wreaths for the holiday season, and just last month, they went on a fishing trip down to a local pier, not too far away, and went to an outdoor picnic. They have other activities such as exercising, wine/lemonade and snacks nights, a football-themed lunch where they have sack lunches and they all watch the football game on the big screen TV, and crafts every day. So, they have a wide range of activities."

"We toured River Park Senior Living. It was very, very nice. It was brand new. It was bright, cheerful, and modern. It was a very lovely place. They have everything. It was really a beautiful facility, and we really, really liked it. We liked the location. It was quiet and kind of secluded. The people that we did encounter were very nice, very helpful, and very accommodating."

"It was great. Their bedrooms were very nice. We liked them. We liked the layout. It was the first one we saw, and we sort of fell in love with them. It's closer to doctors and to where we live now. Their menus are listed, and you can go up and order what you want, which we liked. If you had a preference to something, you could order it special, and that we liked. We only saw one person, and she was very nice, and helpful. I can't say any more about anybody else."

"We liked Myrtle Beach Manor very much. The rooms were just like a studio, but it was nice, and it is probably all that my mother needs. The staff was excellent. They were very informative, and they explained all their activities and how they look after the people there. It was very nice and very clean. "

"How does one put into words the overwhelming appreciation they feel in their heart? That’s how my family feels about Coastal Pointe. There are not enough words to express our gratitude, our appreciation, and our love for all the staff at Coastal Pointe. They so lovingly took our mother in and made her part of their family. She felt loved and protected by each one of the staff. We cannot express the peace we felt knowing she was in such loving and capable hands. The food was excellent, housekeeping did a great job and those who handled her day to day care were outstanding. Every family wants to keep their loved ones at home. But in many cases their issues are better cared for by professionals trained to do so. Coastal pointe provided such a place and a place where our mother felt at home. We send many heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of the staff that helped provide above and beyond our expectations, the loving care they showed our mother."

"I thought Brightwater was very nice and it was well-kept. I know people who have been there and they're happy. It has everything because we know that my husband will need memory care at some point. They're addressing a real need and I can't believe how much it's grown. It's a good place because they keep building and building. It can't be a bad place, otherwise, people won't keep moving there. Everyone was wonderful, I have nothing bad to say about any of them. We only got to meet the head. We had dinner there and it was very, very nice. You have choices, the food was presented and done very well, and the dining room was very nice. I like the idea that they had an indoor pool. A lot of the apartments have patios or decks or porches. The layout was nice, the buildings all have elevators. Part of their guarantee as continuing care is that if you need the next level of care, you get it. They would take the residents to the theater. Someone I knew there needed to have her blood drawn every day, and they drew her blood every day. The whole area was built up unbelievable. The thing is, I don't want to buy-in. You're still paying a monthly fee, but you've given the money upfront that you're not gonna get back. The people I knew who lived there died, so their son said that somebody had to buy it for you to get any money out of it."

"Reflections Assisted Living was very nice. The people were very nice and helpful. The lady showed me around and explained how it works and how much it would cost. She was absolutely helpful and pleasant. The rooms were more like studios. They had a dining room and different activities. They had hairdressers come in also. I wouldn't mind my mother living there."
