My mom recently moved to The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach, and it has been an excellent choice for her. The people there have been very kind. When we bought new furniture, they helped us put it together and organize everything. They assisted her with her medication, ensuring she receives it on time. The staff has been fabulous; even the head nurse gave us her number in case we had any questions. Mom has a living room, a one-bedroom with a bathroom, and a small kitchenette. Each room has its own air conditioning unit. Mom mentioned that the food is good, and there are plenty of activities for her to enjoy.

We took my mom over to The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach, and she likes it. As far as the meals they have, it's great. You have a couple of choices for lunch and dinner, and then they also have a menu that they have every day. So if you don't feel like having any of the set menu items, you could choose from soup, sandwich, and salad. So my mom likes that a lot. Breakfast is just breakfast. It's pretty much eggs, toast, cereal, and things like that. They have a beauty shop. They have a lot of activities. One thing that my mother is looking forward to and really like is the fact that you could go out to a certain section outside and do some gardening. They have some tables set up so that you can put some plants into pots, and she likes that. The apartments are nice. They have a two-bedroom. It's a split floor plan with two bedrooms on either side, but one bathroom, and then you share a living room. But my mother is very private, so that wasn't an option. Then they have a studio, which is about 11 by 14 not including the bathroom, and that's the one she has signed up for because it was the cheapest of everything with the exception of living with someone else. Then you could have a one-bedroom, which is a private room. It has a nice-sized living room, a wet bar, a separate bedroom, a separate bathroom, and a closet. The one my mother is going into doesn't have a closet, but they have an armoire that they'll bring in and that would count as a closet. The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach has recently been remodeled. It's very nice inside and very welcoming. We were impressed. It's small. It's just one floor, but it seems like a good fit for my mom. They're very accommodating. When my mom was with me, they were talking to her, asking her questions like what she likes and what she doesn't like. They were very knowledgeable, and they made you feel very welcome.

We liked the facilities at The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach and we liked the price. They had a variety of rooms. There was one bedroom, a studio deluxe, and a studio. The monthly fee included 3 meals a day, housekeeping, activities, transportation to medical appointments, weekly linen and personal laundry, 24-hour call nurse available, physical therapy, and all utilities were included except the telephone. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very nice. They had a courtyard, but no pool.

We went to tour The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach. It looked very clean. A gentleman took us around. The residents knew him, and he knew their names. It just looked like a nice place. The gentleman that took us on the tour was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information. The facility was very nice. The hospital is a short hop down the road, and there are all kinds of restaurants everywhere.

The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach was previously owned by another group. The staff they have are just some of the sweetest, kindest, and most concerned people that I know. They are very patient with my mom and very understanding. They all love her and they all talk about her. I'm there every day, so they all know me and anything I ask of them, they are perfectly willing to do. Sometimes they have some staffing issues. I think they've tried to hire new staff because of the changeover, but they still got a few places that they're short-staffed. Every once in a while, I will notice that there is a little bit of a lag time from the time I ask for something to when it gets done, but for the most part, they're right on top of things. They do whatever you ask and they always do it with a smile. They're very gracious. So, I have been very pleased with her care. The food is very good and they have a new chef that they have just recently acquired. They're trying to kind of spice things up a little bit. They have an activities director, too, and just this month, they've decorated some pumpkins and have them set out on display. They have now started working on wreaths for the holiday season, and just last month, they went on a fishing trip down to a local pier, not too far away, and went to an outdoor picnic. They have other activities such as exercising, wine/lemonade and snacks nights, a football-themed lunch where they have sack lunches and they all watch the football game on the big screen TV, and crafts every day. So, they have a wide range of activities.

Summit Place was OK but depressing. I wouldn't go there nor send any of my family there. It's not that it wasn't clean or friendly; I just found it extremely depressing. The rooms were the same as any other facility. The hallways looked clean; however, the atmosphere of the whole place was very depressing to me. I only talked to the lady in charge. She was very pleasant and very nice and showed me around.

I found my parents a place at Summit Place of North Myrtle Beach. I was impressed by the staff and their friendliness, the activities that they have for the residents, and the food. The rooms are very nice and very well maintained. The food was good, well-rounded meals. They have a huge calendar of events each month and a driver who takes them to outside activities. There’s a lot going on.

I’ve been to Summit Place. They have single bedrooms and shared apartments. It looked clean to me; the staff was fine.

Summit Place was a little older, but it was nice. But, for me, it was little farther out, so I would prefer something closer to where I live. When we were there, they were getting ready to have a Valentine's Party, and it was very nice. They had a DJ, and it was very interesting.

My mother is in Summit Place. We choose it because of its organization, the friendliness of the staff and attention to details. The ground is very much well-kept and clean. It is in a convenient location for me. They have activities like, they go to lunch once a week, they go to Walmart and they have music every day. I will recommend them to others.

Summit Place of North Myrtle Beach reminded me of a nursing home. I got a very bad sense there. First of all, it had a terrible smell. I was just not impressed at all. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The staff themselves were very nice, but as far as the place itself and the rooms, I was not impressed, and I left quickly. The rooms were shared rooms. They didn't have private rooms. They have an activity room, but I don?t remember them having more than that.

Very nice and clean place. The memory side the food was brought in last after the other side got their food first. If they were the last to get served they didn't have a choice of which dinner they wanted. For the price of the home they were not getting a five star like they claim. Be very careful on what the price they give also. They go up on the residents.

Summit Place is a very nice facility. The only thing that bothered me is it's right on Route 17. Well my mother in law has Alzheimer's and usually some of them are wanderers. I realized it would be very difficult for my mother in law or any of them to get out of there, but, there is that chance that she could get out and that section of 17 weren't split. It's just very dangerous and it is right on the road. That's the only drawback really. Well, the other drawback was they do take these people out. They get in the little bus in their wheelchairs or whatever, and they take them out. I think it's a great idea but I just didn't like that. I was just not comfortable with the number of patients assigned to each staff when they go out. Each one of the residents should have somebody assigned to them one on one. Not one on four or one on five. Also, I'm not sure whether it was this facility where some of the rooms, when they decorate, they allowed rug carpets. But in my view it would be cleaner and safer without area rugs because accidents do happen. I think rugs and carpets should be eliminated. They could've an accident and slip and fall. Otherwise, it was a very nice place. We were very warmly welcomed. Everything was nice and it was a clean facility.
