"After touring and researching many many assisted living facilities in the MA/RI area, this was the one that my family memeer chose. I would like to qualify this review by stating that while the assisted living residence is wonderful, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, THE DEMENTIA OR NURSING HOME AREA OF THIS RESIDENCE. The assisted living residence, offers the unique blending of independence and care. Residents are able to decide daily whether they wish to cook in their fully appliance kitchen, or take meals in the dining room. Children are encouraged to visit, and family is allowed to spend the night if they choose. Basically, it is like renting a condo, with the added benefit of a skilled staff to assist residents as needed. It also offers many activities, and group functions along with day trips and classes. They have a library which offers audio books, as well as traditional books, computers and lessons are also available for use. Their are many common rooms to visit w/family or friends if you dont wish to be in your apartment or if the residents would like to just sit and relax. Another great feauture is that they will introduce you around, and help you meet at least one person who will show you around and help you get used to the place. The have a full pub, and have entertainment there as well. Add an exercise room and program, to the indoor heated pool and you have a health club on site and at no additional costs. They run many diffferent day trips, and have entertainment as well. The grounds are fully landscaped and there is even a "garden club". This is a great place for the independant person, who values privacy and yet doesnt want to live totally alone, AND may require some assistance with various every day things. It is definately worth touring and researching. "

"The rooms are bright, however some have to room with a roommate. They offer various types of food, exercise and activities. They also have a bus that can take some of them out to the mall if they want. "

"My brother will be moving into Chapel Hill Senior Living. The director showed us around, and I was pleased with everything. We chose this facility because it's between my house and his daughter's house. The facility was very clean and organized. They had a garden area and several common areas inside and outside that were very nice. They had activity areas, a library, and a pub. They had clubs for everyone. The staff members were very nice."

"Sparrows Point was situated where I am currently living, so I am acquainted with the area. I visited there because I wanted to transfer as soon as there was a vacant room available. It is nice that I could go shopping in the facility if I don't have a car. There was also a bus twice a week and it is for free. They also had execise classes and different trips. For a semi-private facility, it has good quality. "

"For what I had seen at Cranberry Pond Apartments, I am quite impressed and satisfied. You could have a two-bedroom or a one-bedroom apartment. It had a small balcony and they had a main parking area. "

"My experience at Atria was very nice and pleasant. The woman took me and my daughter through a tour. We had a meal there and the food was delicious and pleasant. I saw one unit, and it was very pleasant, nice, and a good size. If I were going there I'd want a large unit with two bedrooms, as I have overnight company when my daughter comes once a month. I liked it because of its location, as it is close to an area that I am familiar with. "

"On 25th of July, I'm going down to spend four days at Laurelmead to see how I like it. That's the only place I found in Providence I think that meets my requirements. One meal a day just suits me fine and that's the thing they have that nobody else does. Laurelmead is very close to where my daughter lives. The location is wonderful. When you're walking through the facility, they have beautiful art work on the wall and it is very impressive. Physically, the facility is very pretty. They have a very nice pool. The dining room was very pretty. The facility was very nice looking, physically. The woman who was in charge of visitors was busy that day, so we went around with an assistant; she was fine, but she wasn't terribly good at her job. The rooms were nice and roomy. "

"My mother is staying at The Village at Waterman Lake's memory care. It's a very clean and very open area, but at the same time, it's fenced-in. The gardens there are beautiful, it's also fenced-in so the residents can't wander. The staff has been there, most of them at least, for a couple of years already. The residents and CNAs are quite close and the staff is very helpful. They take them on rides in vans to "nowhere", that's what they call them. They just drive around and look at different things in the neighborhood. They do take them to doctor's offices too if they need it. There's also a doctor on staff if you want to use that doctor. I have eaten there in the past and the food is delicious. The place has been there since the '80s, it's very open with beautiful grounds. When I call my mother, she's always doing something like painting or whatever kind of stuff. It's on the expensive side but I think it's worth it."

"It was a smaller place. The building was previously a hotel. The rooms were very small. They recently updated the common spaces and that looked nice, with brighter colors and so forth, but it felt a little bit more intimate, a little bit more closed in. The hallways weren't as wide and spacious as the other place. We liked the woman who gave us the tour. She answered a lot of our questions. The thing that we didn't like about it is the size of the rooms. They are extremely small. There is very little storage for clothing and belongings. They have a chapel where they offer Catholic mass six days a week. They have a place where she can have her hair done, a manicure, and an activities area."

"Brightview Commons is absolutely excellent. The staff is excellent, very friendly, and very cooperative. The food is excellent; I haven’t had a bad meal since I've been here. The rooms are very nice. I have a beautiful view from my window, and it is spacious. I have a bedroom and a living room which is a very nice combination. We have great deal of activities going on like movies 3 times a week, and we have a little pub here. I am absolutely getting my money's worth here."

"We've decided to keep my mom where she is at the time being, which is the Elderwood Of Scallop Shell, not really looking around all that much at this point. The ones that I talked to were basically closed down at this point. You could go online at the website and talk to people on there, but that's kind of difficult. That kind of played into my decision to keep my mom where she is. She ended up there when she initially went in for rehab after her broken hip. I have not been in the building, I just looked at it online like most of the others. I just talk to people and they get back to me. It seems good, but I don't have a lot to judge on. The staff is accommodating and friendly. My mom is forgetting a lot so she needs someone to keep an eye on her. The location is very nice, it's not on a busy street, and it's tucked away. I don't know what the layout is. She went directly from the hospital over there so I have not seen the inside. They're close to relatives down there and that's kind of the determining factor for us and also recommendations from her assisted-living facility. It's not a gigantic nursing home or a rehab center like some of them are so it's a little cozier. They have private rooms which I'm planning to get for my mom. They've got a library. My mother goes down there pretty much every day. Obviously it's a rehab center so I guess they do things with the residents to kind of keep them busy because they can't have visitors. I find them very friendly and easy to work with. They set up a couple of Zoom visits with my mom and it was so nice."

"The apartments are very nice, with a full living room, kitchen, and multiple bedrooms, as well as plenty of storage space. On the downside, the trash disposal area is on the second floor, requiring an elevator ride or climbing stairs to access. The staff are nowhere to be seen, however there's a vibrant community between the residents, who often participate in group activities or carpool together to church or other events. The building and grounds are very well-maintained, and the campus is centrally located in town with close access to banking, entertainment and restaurants. Overall, it is an ideal community for an elderly resident, and is highly recommended. "

"Country Living at Westview Commons is a very nice facility. It has all the amenities. There are no negatives as far as I would be concerned. It's just that it was a bit upscale compared to other places. Our lifestyle is not in line with that. We saw both single and double rooms. The ones that we saw were very nice. The grounds were not quite what we would be looking for, but the facility itself was excellent. The grounds were just very bare. They have a library and an exercise room. The rooms were nice and adequate. They were sized about the same. There, you didn't have a stove because they supply three meals a day."
