"All American Assisted Living at Warwick was close to where we are. My father moved into assisted living. It's good. The staff was very good; they were helpful and friendly. From what I understand, the food is good. At first it was delivered to his room. Delivery was a little slower, and the food was a little colder, but he's fine now that he's going down to the dining room. The facility is very nice looking."

"Halcyon at West Bay is a very clean place. It's pretty modern. They've done a lot of renovation, so it's very fresh and clean. The staff were all very nice. Everybody there seemed very caring. They have all kinds of activities, like outings. There's a full schedule every day of the different things they do. The dining area looked nice. As far as I can tell, they give them a lot of choices as far as what they want. Out of all the places we looked at, we liked that place the best."

"I toured Tamarisk with a group, and we ate at a private dining room, and it was pleasant. They have good activities: movies, television, recreation, and trips. The staff was very pleasant towards the visitors and, I assume, towards the residents. They have a porch in the rooms so you have a little private outdoor space. The dining area is a very pleasant, nice, big, bright room. It’s got more buildings I think than some of the others, and about 80 residents there, but the location is close to my Synagogue "

"I visited Brookdale Centre of New England, and we've decided on it because it is close to my house. They were giving out their residents their second dose of vaccine, so I could not actually see the individual living areas, but from what I could see, I was comfortable and satisfied compared to the one my husband is staying in currently. The staff appeared to be very involved in their residents, and they have all the essentials and support of the staff onsite. I was only at the front entrance and a special room they have for family to visit, but from what I could see, it seemed organized, and the place was very warm. I was just very surprised with the number of personnel to attend to the needs of the residents too. They answered all my questions and I met the head of that particular memory care center, and various people that I don't think he was just gonna stay there to run up the statistics, but somebody will be working with him and taking care of him."

"I am very pleased with everybody and with everything at Greenwich Farms. There are so many activities like bingo and exercise classes, and there is something going on every hour. They take them out to shopping if they want to, as well as to dinner and lunch. They take them to church on Sundays too. This was the one that suited us the best, and it was convenient to where my cousin and I live. It’s very pleasant, and he seems to like it there. "

"I visited Atria Bay Spring Village. It's gorgeous, it's very updated, and it's very clean and friendly. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and supportive. It's spacious, and it has all the safety measures the seniors need, like grab bars and all of that stuff. I saw the menu, and it has a large variety. They have a barbershop, transportation, activities, and they go on outings."

"Anchor Bay at East Providence was fine, although I didn't care for it as much, it looked like a lovely place. I liked that it seemed like a manageable size. The people seemed very caring there and I think my friend would get the help that she needs. I was a little bit turned off about the cleanliness in a couple of rooms; I wasn't overly impressed, though it could have just been a bad day. The laundry room was kind of littered with paper all on the floor. Someone was doing the laundry, I was a little bit surprised at that. I believe that the ratio of caretakers to residents wasn't as high as the other place that we looked at. I'm not saying it wasn't workable, but it just wasn't as good as the other place we saw. But overall, it would probably work fine for my friend, but it just wasn't right up there on the top of my list. I kind of thought that the staff who gave the tour was a little indiscrete with the information that we gave her, she talked about that to someone else which made me a little uncomfortable. Other than that, she was excellent, seemed to have a lot of energy, and was very knowledgeable about the place. We were brought into the dining area and the person who runs that was very nice, and let us know that she certainly would try to accommodate the needs of our friend if she were to go there. So we were impressed with that. There were some scratches in the hallway and some dents in the wall; not a lot, just little things. There was one chair that had a stain, not overly bad, but it just was not top of the heap in my mind."

"We liked Capitol Ridge at Providence. I just didn't like the area it was in. It was a bit further away from our house, but it was nice and clean, and the people were friendly. There's no reason I don't want mom there. They were great. They were doing an arts and crafts activity when we got there. They were playing a kind of a mind game to keep their minds going like a word game. They seemed to be having a good time. Everybody looked like they were smiling. Everybody was good there. It was a little bit older inside and they're in the process of remodeling it, so it's good to see that they were keeping up with things. The rooms were nice. The staff members we met were very friendly."

"This facility is kept extremely well maintained. When my aunt was living here it was an extremely pleasant experience. The staff was very nice and willing to "go that extra mile" for you. They would sit and talk to my aunt if she were lonely or play games with her. The dining staff was nice and the dining room was okay. The food was nothing special but decent and well prepared. "

"Blenheim was a very nice, homey place, and it’s convenient for me. The director is very nice and working hard to help me, to figure this all out. I am kind of leaning forward to that one because it’s not so profit, so I think it is more affordable for me. The rooms were really nice, you could bring your own furniture if you want. They have nice grounds, a little courtyard, and everything so that they could go outside. The one I ate in is not the one that he would be in because they have their own kitchen and dining room in the last unit. They used smart eating, they have a couple of choices, and the clients pick which one they want to eat and they have the table set; the plates are bright red so that they could see better. The food was good. They usually have choices, and I know they have a garden. "

"Before COVID, I looked at a place with my mom called Brookdale South Bay in South Kingstown. We only went on a visit and my mom got to have her lunch there and she got to see the room. The lady there was very nice and it was a good experience. The woman showed my mom the room that she was going to be utilizing, so my mom was really excited about that, but then we didn't hear from them and I had to call them. I asked if my mom could move in in two weeks and they said yes. My mom got really excited about that, but then we didn't hear from them again. I had to call back and they said somebody came back and took that bed. I found that to be unprofessional. They said to not worry because my mom is next on the list, she's number one, and so for two years I called this woman every single month and inquired about a room for my mom. My mom was getting pretty bad and they said why don't we look somewhere else. After two years, and even during COVID, they said they didn't have anything. I just wondered if they were ever going to have anything for my mom. I find it hard to believe that for two years nothing opened up. And my mom was going to be in a shared room, she was not looking for a private room. My experience with them was disappointing. I wished I didn't take my mom and she didn't have lunch there because it got her hopes up and she kept waiting and asking me about it like a child. It was disappointing, and I just think they could have handled it better or they could have called me and said, "Don't worry, we still have your mom's information. We just want to keep you updated." Instead, I had to call them and they never, ever called me back ever. I felt really bad about that. We were kind of stuck on that place for a while because it really truly was and is right around the corner from my mother's apartment, and less than half a mile away. I and my brother all lived there so we thought it would be perfect. So that was my experience. It wasn't a very pleasant one. I'm not saying it's the woman's fault. If somebody came back and took the bed then I just think that she shouldn't have showed it to me or my mom until she absolutely knew and then hide and not call us and tell us. I think she knew she screwed up and didn't want to call and tell me, "By the way, don't let your mother pack just yet because the lady came back." She didn't and she should have done that. The facility was nice though. I only saw that one room and it was a two-bedroom, and I would describe it as homey. During the tour we went to the restaurant and the food was really good."

"My aunt moved into The Highlands on the East Side. The community itself is beautiful. It's very clean. So far, she's been there for like a week, so we've seen it very clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They supply very small appliances like a refrigerator and a microwave. They serve three meals a day. They have activities. They put a flyer on the door every day or whatever it is. And this thing is going on, a couple of things during the day. Off the top of my head, it was like sometimes they play cards and sometimes it's bingo. They have a flower group. They plant flowers in the yard. They go out to the store once a week, like different things."

"My father spent quite a while there for rehab. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and compassion they all showed towards him. From the housekeepers to the director, everyone was so understanding to my fathers needs. The Dr. always kept me well informed and spoke to all of my siblings at a family meeting. The nurses treated my father as their own. His stay at Wingate on Blackstone was wonderful. Thank you to the physical therapy and occupational therapy teams as well. "Clifton Assisted Living has a lower entrance fee than some of the other ones that I visited. The rooms were a pretty reasonable size. The staff there was great. Everybody was polite. They're pretty inclusive. They have 45 minutes of personal care. I actually like the place. The entrance way was very welcoming. The contact person that I met was very accommodating. The price was reasonable. The dining area was very nice. They have activities. They bring the residents to different places around the area. I talked to a couple of the residents, and I even asked one if she was happy there, and she said she was. She even said that the staff treated her well, and that she had no problems there."

"It was a very good facility. They’re apartments. They cook all the food. They have a dining room, and you do all the eating there. The dining room was very large. They have a separate place just for the family instead of eating in the dining room. There’s a room off the side that you can reserve for an event. They have a lot of things for you. They even have a swimming pool for recreation and an exercise room for all those stuff. "

"All American Assisted Living at Wrentham was well laid out. The staff seemed to be very available and knowledgeable about the residents. The residents' locations were nicely designed. They had a library, dining rooms, outside space, and walking trails. They seemed to have a lot of group activities available. I thought it was a well-planned community. There was a different activities room that they use for a lot of different things. Another room was also multifunctional that they use for exercises a couple of times a week. They had a whole schedule of different activities, people that came in to do different things, for occupation or entertainment. They have memory care, but I was not looking for that."

"We chose Whalers Cove because of proximity, cost, and everything in it. My mother loves the food and she's got a very nice apartment. The place is huge. There are different areas where she can go without even having to leave the building, like a little garden and a good view inside. She's very pleased there. At this point, she's been very well taken care of and they've been great to the family, so I can't really complain about anything. "
