"I toured Holiday Greenwood Terrace, and it went very well. The woman named Callie, who oversees booking and takes you on your tour, was very, very helpful. I was on her fifth tour for the day, so I think people were very interested in the facility. It's a nice facility, and we're now considering it for my sister. The facility was clean. They include all your meals, and your rent includes all your utilities and cable, which was very good."

"We toured Connect55+ Olathe. It was nice, clean, and bright. The staff was just exceptional. I met the manager and activities director and the person that showed me through. All of it was top-notch. It's just several years old."

"I visited Holiday Thornton Place. The lady who assisted us was very personable and very knowledgeable. Her name was Tammy, and she answered every question we had and gave us a lot of information. When we went out and looked at the cottage, there was nobody in it, but there was just a tiny bit of housekeeping that could have been done."

"My overall experience at Garden Villas of Lenexa was excellent. The director contacted me twice beforehand and said that he would meet us at the door, which he did. He took us around as we needed. My brother-in-law doesn't walk well, so he got a wheelchair for him. He was wonderful. He showed us a two-bedroom, two-bath (which is the only thing we are looking for), and we loved it. It was bright, clean, and big. So now my sister and her husband have a difficult decision, but they have to wait and see a couple more. We saw their dining area. It was after lunch, and so everything was being cleaned up. It looked like the staff members were doing what they're supposed to do. Chairs were wiped down, and tables were wiped down. It looked very clean and healthy to me."

"My husband was only in Lawrence Presbyterian Manor for a little bit before he passed away. I would recommend them without reservation, they were wonderful. I would describe it as very clean. The layout of the building we were in was a two-story, and he was on the second floor, but that was not a problem. He was unconscious when they transferred him, but they gave him excellent care. The people who worked with him were outstanding, they were compassionate, and I have nothing bad to say about the place."

"I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience my mother had living at Arbor Court. Tracy and Susan are the most professional and caring administrators one could meet. My mother lived on her own for over 40 years and we were concerned that she might have difficulty fitting in and adjusting to the lifestyle there. Instead my mother blossomed. She began eating again, making friends and enjoying all the trips and events that were planned. The maintenance staff does a fantastic job listening to the needs of the residents and making sure that everyone is safe and adding whatever is needed to make their apartments feeling like their "new" homes. The level of daily concern and interaction among all the staff is also amazing. Residents enjoy an independent lifestyle in a facility that looks after them much better than any assisted living facility we visited. The staff tailors care to each individual resident. Again, a fabulous place that my family highly recommends! "

"I lived at Brandon Woods for a whole year in a duplex and loved it. They have a library, swimming pool, and all kinds of activities. I chose it because it was close to my home. I liked all the activities that they had and the swimming pool. I liked it that you could belong to Alvamar Country Club if you went there. They have a wonderful dining room and excellent food. I like the people and the cultural offerings. It's very expensive. They have Bible study, church services, movie every night and all kinds of outings that you can go to. If I had lots of money, I would go right back to Brandon Woods. It has everything I wanted. "

"Wyndham Place was a newer facility. It was very clean and the apartments were very nice. The staff was nice. She gave us a lot of information. She made a point to show us their main activity room and I think they did a lot of things there. They also got a good outdoor walking path and also, extra storage facilities. We saw a group of ladies during our visit and they were just laughing and telling stories. They were very friendly. My mom liked it because they seemed like really nice people. "

"The apartments at Pebblebrooke Villas were great. It had its own kitchen and the size was fine. The staff showed us around. They have a lot of activities. One group was leaving to go to the Casino when we pulled up. We signed up and hopefully we will be moving there soon. It's a nice, quiet community, has a country atmosphere, and it's even close to Walmart and Price Choppers."

"We have a friend that lives in Brookside, and she just loves it. That will be a place that is apparently suitable to some people, and that's what we are looking at. She is in the independent living side. We saw the cafeteria, her room, the community room, and the chapel. They have activities like they are playing games and cards. The facility is really clean, and they are well staffed. We look at the dining area, but it is not a dining time, so we did not see the food. The rooms are very clean and very spacious for a single person. "

Our large community kitchen area provides ample space for holiday gatherings for our residents or may be reserved for private parties. Our friendly, resident community provides bingo, card games, holiday gatherings and other activities. Residents may choose to be active in any or all of the activities depending on their interests. "Cedar Lake Village has so many activities for people to do and has a much more Christian base to it, which I am looking for. I have not talked to one person who has not been impressed with this place, whether by living there or working there. I have a friend whose dad works there, and he's been there for 17 years. He said the people there are always very nice. The food isn't as good as the other facility I've been to. You can only eat until noon. So, you get all the breakfast that you want and lunch, and then you can pick stuff up to take back to your rooms for evening meals. I didn't like that so much, but it is good because some people don't want a lot to eat in the evenings. The staff was excellent. They were very friendly and very helpful. I ate lunch there and it was OK. I am not picky, and it wasn't anything extravagant. The building was very clean, but it's old-fashioned. The main part of it was not super up-to-date, but for old people who like that kind of thing, it would make them feel very much at home. To me, it doesn't matter. I could go with it or not. Their rooms were not quite as updated, either."

"Brewster Place is a big complex. It's been around a long time. I was in an independent living apartment, a friend lived there, it was a really nice size, the rooms, there was a one-bedroom, but you had a separate dining area with the kitchenette, and then a living area, and another bedroom. It was really nice and roomy. They had a party in a common area. My aunt was in one of the assisted living apartments, smaller, but very convenient for her, and very clean. The outside of it is very neat looking. Now they have a clinic onsite. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It's brick, it's a really nice place, probably two or three blocks big, the grounds are kept, and it's always clean and neat."

"My dad was at McCrite Plaza Topeka and the personnel, the nurses, the nurse's aide, the social worker, and the place, and everything was great. It's just very homey and the outside is beautiful. If you take them on the patio, there are flowers and there's a pond to walk around. And on the inside, they had a recliner, and it just seemed very homey. I think he liked the food. They have everything that you could ask for. They have a nice outdoor area, they have crafts, and I believe they have a bar and all that stuff available. But he didn't use it because he was in rehab. They have a lot of activities for the people. I thought his room was homey because I'd been in another rehab facility and this one had a nice recliner, a TV, a window, and a nice closet. And it was a nice size."
