"I thought Hillside Village was very nice. I saw one of the rooms; it was just one big room. They had the bed and living room both in one room. There was a big dining room. It seemed really nice. I was just really impressed with the place. However, in terms of security, we could just walk in and out, and there wasn't anyone around other than the residents. "

"We went with Hickory Pointe. It's very small and very rural. It was probably built in the 1970s. The place is kind of old-fashioned, but it looks good and is kept up well. The grounds are mowed frequently. The people are very caring and kind. The chef cooks really old-fashioned foods like chicken and dumplings and homemade bread. Mom fits in well. The rooms are large and have nice dressers that were probably built in the 1970s. You can tell that the facility has been freshly painted. The windows look out on rose bushes. It's just rustic. Each room has its own bedroom, a bathroom, and two dressers. There are private and semi-private rooms, and I think they are quite roomy. There's always room for improvement. I would highly recommend this place. "

"I had a family member stay at the Wellsville Manor facility last year. The staff at this facility was really great. I felt that they really cared about the residents, and that is was not just another job to them. They quickly learned my family member's preferences and did what they could to make her stay as enjoyable as possible. They were extremely patient, kind and understanding. The Wellsville Manor had many activities for the residents. They had things like musical performances, arts and crafts, and bingo. This helped our family member fill the long days until we could come for a visit. The Wellsville Manor also had a van that was used to transport residents to doctor's appointments and other activities. This was a great convenience to the family to not have to worry about how to get our family member to the doctor as she was now in a wheel chair. "

"The staff people of Medicalodges were friendly, and they were like a little community. The place was kind of more institutional than homey, but people were friendly. I ate there, and the food was delicious. "

"I loved my stay at meadowbrook. I suffered a stroke. Every single staff member I encountered here were awesome. My stay was during the covid and even under these circumstances. The staff was amazing. Most people do not realise what goes with being a care giver. Just remember your nurse is about 5 or 6 other residence nurse as well. Your CNA is several others CNA as well. My only complaint was the food. There is alot of room for improvement."

"My dad gets cared for at Advena Living of Bonner Springs. Like everywhere else right now, they are short-staffed, but his room is nice and roomy. He's treated decently. They dress him and attend to him. So, he's well cared for. The food is also decent. The atmosphere is pleasant, and I haven't seen any unhappy people there. It's an old building, but it's kept up."

"I was very impressed with Brookside. The thing that I like was that it was very open. The rooms were fine; what I like about it was very open, and they had a very nice open sunny area, but they didn’t think he would be a match, so my husband didn’t go there. "

"They keep the place very well clean and they are adding a new gazebo. They are fixing up the place and keeping the outside looking amazing. There putting the gazebo right next to a pond in the front. Just a perfect place for a retirement home. The staff is mostly people from our high school but do a very good job. I know the people who own it and thats the only thing they care about. They put everything into the place with making it look good and keeping the same staff. All of the rooms are big and they all have there privacy; I was surprised that very room had a flat screen. It is in good hands with the staff and owners. The only downside is the living/ gathering room looks bad and needs remodeled. I think there going to get to that hopefully, but other than that it would look perfect and its very nice for a little town in Overbrook. "

"My sister is in Countryside Health Center. It looks like a mental hospital. That's what it reminds me of. It smells OK. The one thing that bothers my sister is that the mental people because she is afraid of them. She is in a semi-private room. It is very small. They need to improve on the activities. There isn't as much here; it doesn't seem to be. "

"The Legacy on 10th Avenue was very nice, but they didn't have an available room at the time. The room was just fine, and the grounds were very nice. "

"I went to the facility one time because my grandmother was in very bad health and was expected to pass soon. I got to the front door and it seemed as if the security of the facility was top notch. Once inside it seemed like the residents had plenty of activities to do during the day. The staff was relatively nice. The cleanliness was about average and I personally thought it could have been cleaned a little better. I would have loved to have seen a place for the residents to be able to go outside and get some fresh air. It seemed kind of stuffy inside the building. I don't think I would pick this facility again. "

"My mother has been a resident since 2019. The staff is caring, friendly, and quick to address a problem. They serve a variety of food that is delicious and healthy. Snacks are always on hand. My mother's room is spacious and provides her comfort and safety. The center offers a variety of fun activities such as bingo with nice prizes, and outside BBQs, They also provide free food trucks and also great family nights, I think that Halloween is my favorite. The outside of the building is welcoming and the grounds are well-kept. I could not ask for a nicer place for my mother."

"Hoeger House is designed to be an acute rehabilitation place, and they do an excellent job. It’s an extremely nice place with all private rooms. It’s three hours of rehab every day, they’re designed to do one thing, and they do it very well. They don’t really have games and activities, because it’s only a 35-bed facility and you get half of the people out doing therapy all the time."

"I'm in Parkway Care and Rehab right now. It is very nice and clean. The staff is very nice. I got a private room, and it's nice, cozy, and clean. They have activities for the patients. They play games. They got everything. There's not a dull moment here. They keep you busy. They got a courtyard and a patio to sit outside. Its price is reasonable."
