Wyndham Place Senior Residence

We made an appointment to take a tour but when we arrived, we were told by a man that the "apartment manager was having a crisis" and was not available. So we rescheduled and 3 weeks later we arrived, and was met at the front door by a very rude woman who said the "apartment manager was having a crisis" and was not available. We started to leave, but someone came out, a friendly woman in a wheelchair, and let us in to look around. There wasn't any outdoor furniture, just a dirty patio behind the building, so we thought that was odd. There is no clubhouse- I believe the brochure says there is, but we did see a diningroom. No sign of any kind of exercise room or equipment on any of the 3 floors. As we walked down the halls, there was a lot of loud dogs barking, and very loud rock music. Odd for a senior residence to allow this. The elevator floor had dog feces in the corner. We decided this was not the best place for our mother. The outside of the building looked very nice though.

An aging facility deteriorating under the last two owners. The managers have been sales people, not managers. The place is starting to smell of bare feet and leaks from garbage bags, as tenants are required to take their trash to the dumpster 50 yards from the entrance. Strong smell of cigarettes and pets.

Wyndham Place was a newer facility. It was very clean and the apartments were very nice. The staff was nice. She gave us a lot of information. She made a point to show us their main activity room and I think they did a lot of things there. They also got a good outdoor walking path and also, extra storage facilities. We saw a group of ladies during our visit and they were just laughing and telling stories. They were very friendly. My mom liked it because they seemed like really nice people.
