I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience my mother had living at Arbor Court. Tracy and Susan are the most professional and caring administrators one could meet. My mother lived on her own for over 40 years and we were concerned that she might have difficulty fitting in and adjusting to the lifestyle there. Instead my mother blossomed. She began eating again, making friends and enjoying all the trips and events that were planned. The maintenance staff does a fantastic job listening to the needs of the residents and making sure that everyone is safe and adding whatever is needed to make their apartments feeling like their "new" homes. The level of daily concern and interaction among all the staff is also amazing. Residents enjoy an independent lifestyle in a facility that looks after them much better than any assisted living facility we visited. The staff tailors care to each individual resident. Again, a fabulous place that my family highly recommends!

Mom is at Arbor Court Retirement Community at Alvamar and it has been very good. They are very helpful and prompt in their response, and they have been very accommodating. The staff is very friendly and involved. Mom has been very comfortable there. The menu is very diverse, they have different options. The dining area is very open, airy, and clean. They have scheduled outings, bingo, and crafts. They have weekly housekeeping and they change all the flat linens every other week. They have transportation to doctor's appointments and shopping centers.

I did a tour of Arbor Court Retirement Community at Alvamar. Even though they talk about being independent living, they are somewhere between an independent and an assisted, and I call it hybrid living. They did kind of like a hybrid living situation, and I observed the amount of assistance and the amount of care that they gave the residents. As long as they're able to dress and move around and do those things for themselves, they have that level there. What I liked about this was it's small, it was cozy, and everything was open to the inside. When I was there, they replaced some carpet on the main level, so when you say facilities, it is hard to judge. But on the third floor and the ground floor, the basement level, the facilities were well maintained; and it's apparent it's an older facility. I give it a five, on the activities they do, the cleanliness of it, and the number of amenities that they offer. What I loved about it, the gal that gave me the tour, when I walked in and she's saying, "Is it okay if I go take care of this resident?" The fact, that they put the resident first impressed me; putting the resident first is a priority for me. I did see them prepare the meals, and I was there right after breakfast. I did ask a resident, "What do you think of the meals?" she says "They are great." I walked around a couple of laps around the building with the resident, and talked with her, and had a nice little visit.

My 95 year-old father moved to Arbor Court in February of 2020. I cannot say enough good things about the facility, staff, and community. My father was very demanding and after a period of adjustment, aided by the staff and community, adapted to his new home. Because of the pandemic, many social activities had to be halted or greatly altered, but the staff did all that they could to offer what could be done to encourage social interactions. My father liked the food, especially the breakfasts and desserts. As my father declined, I was able to layer health services which allowed him to live somewhat independently until his passing

Exceptional facility! Beautiful inside and outside. Staff is amazing....so caring, helpful and kind. Lots of on-site activities (Bingo, movie nights, "Coffee Talk" where food, drinks and conversation are served.) Off-site outings for residents. Visiting Nurses office on-site is very helpful. Dining services are great. I can't say enough about the staff who really take an interest in residents. Facility is small enough that you get to know people and make new friends. Highly recommend Arbor Court for your loved one. My mother was unsure of the move at first, but loved her time there before she passed.

My mom lives here and we all have had a really great experience. The staff are wonderful, caring, responsive and attentive. The food is *homemade* on the premises, no frozen food here - and it's delicious! My mom's apartment was like new on move-in and the staff even helped with installing some items, like hanging her TV on the wall and installing some shelving. The facilities caretaker is a lovely person and so helpful at a moment's notice. There are tons of on- and off-site activities and amenities available. And the residents that live there are so friendly. Every time I visit I am greeted with smiles and conversation with folks that live there. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, and that makes me happy, too.

My mom has lived at Arbor Ct for over a year and loves it. She has all the benefits of an independent life but none of the worries. Essentially everything she needs including utilities is included in the price. The food is good and plenty of it. They have many routinely scheduled activities such as Bingo and they plan several outside trips each month. The lounge areas are large & cozy and promote socialization with the activities provided. The staff is great. Very loving and caring. My mom likes that she can walk inside around the upstairs balcony for exercise. The place is clean and well kept. She loves it there and we are happy knowing that help would be nearby should she need it.

I can't say enough good about Arbor Court in Lawrence, Ks. Our mom was so happy when she saw her apartment. The larger of the one bedrooms is very roomy with a small but full kitchen. There is a wonderful fun and caring staff and friendly residents. Plenty of fun activities and things to keep as busy as they want to be. After moving from her house of 62 years she quickly told us, "I just love my new home." Hosekeeping and maintenance keep things sparkling and the grounds always look nice. The parking lot needs a new suface but everything else is top notch. The food is great and plentiful and options are offered if you don't care for the main course. It's a great place and we know that she is safe and happy. .

My mother is at Arbor Court Retirement Community at Alvamar. They cook their meals for them and that's pretty much it unless they need something else. I'm pretty happy with the facility. The grounds are kept beautiful and the facility is very nice inside. Her room is very adequate for a single person. It has pretty much everything they need. They come in and they clean every few weeks and they wash their bed sheets and remake their beds. She goes to church services on Sunday afternoons, exercise classes, and they play some games in the afternoon.

I moved in at Arbor Court two years ago in October. I chose it because it was right down the street from my church. The food goes up and down. We are in the middle of transition because of the change over in management, so I really can't say what's going to happen in the future. The past has been nice. I love the people here. It is a small community. You get to know everybody and it is friendly. The best thing about this place is the people here. It is like a second family. We have a bunch of high school students serving tables and they are very nice. It restores your faith in young people. I have a one-bedroom apartment. There are a few two-bedrooms and a few of studios. As for activities, right now, we are matching a movie. We have had several concerts this week. They bring people in to entertain us. They go out to eat or they have supper come in. They play bingo, scrabble and rummy, all kinds of games depending on your interest. They keep us busy. Also we have exercise classes to keep us healthy. The only thing I have against Arbor Court is that I really don't like the times they give you your meals, i.e., breakfast at 7, dinner is at noon and then supper they serve at 5 and it is really too early for me.

The facility is very clean and well kept. All staff members have been warm and very helpful, making sure to apprise us of any issues with my father-in-law. We visited there for a family dinner last month. The food that they served was very tasty, and the portions were more than adequate. They offer several trips outside of the facility and make sure that the members are active. The decor does seem dated and a little faded, but is in good repair. When we moved him in we had easy access to an elevator and they were able to provide us with a dolly and carts to move in the heavy stuff. Overall we have been very pleased with the living arrangement there. They provide weekly cleaning, three meals a day, and laundry service. They do charge for the laundry service, but the cleaning and meals are provided as part of the living expenses.

Drury Place is the facility our family chose for my Dad when he became unable to live alone. We met with the director, Sandy, and the package she presented during our initial visit has been exactly what has been provided. My Dad has his own apartment and is able to cook if he wants to, but he also chooses to eat three meals per day with the community. His utilities are included in his apartment rate making the cost reasonable for those on a budget. In addition, the community cleans apartments once per week and launder towels/sheets. They will launder residents personal laundry for an additional cost. There is transportation provided to shopping and doctors appointments. Local pharmacies provide medication boxes for residents. They also plan a variety of activities, movies, tours, etc. to keep residents active. They play cards and bingo regularly. My Dad has a good time and has never had any complaints. I gave the community four stars only because the facilities are dated. With a few updates, this would definitely be a five star community.
