"The Ivy at Wellington - Laguna Hills, CA was beautiful. It was very nice. We were very impressed. The tour was very helpful. They covered everything. The staff who accommodated us with the tour was very good. We looked at a one-bedroom-and-a-den apartment. They had physical therapy. They had all kinds of things. They had card games and arts. I didn't look at all of them, but I just saw that they were busy. They had a library, a courtyard, a swimming pool, and a gym. We had lunch there, and it was fine. Also, you can get your meals any time of the day. They're not regimented."

"The Fountains at Dana Point was another one we looked at during our search. It is beautiful and very high end. They are very independent living. Even in their assisted living, it seemed that people were very independent. They have a swimming pool that mother would have loved. But she decided that the swimming pool was not as important to her as the rest of the community. This facility is more expensive and very sophisticated. "

"Park Terrace is extremely clean and it smells good. My mother has been there for about 6 weeks now. The staff is great. She's been extremely happy with them. She cannot move from place to place herself, so they have to transport her down to meals and to activities in a wheelchair. They're kind, nice, and they come in and take her when she needs to go down. She also needs help with bathing. Mom finds it to be a very pleasant experience and certainly much better than she expected. The rooms are extremely spacious. She's in a complete 1-bedroom with bath and huge closet. The showers are big enough to get a large bathing chair in. She has balcony that overlooks the courtyard and the pool. Her living room is very spacious, too. We were able to get a large reclining chair, a dinette table with 3 chairs, a chest for putting a TV on, a couple of other chest that she wanted to take with her, and a sofa. At this moment, I have no problems. The food is unbelievably good and she's enjoying it. "

"It was like a cruise ship on the land. Everything looks first class, including a shuttle service to Laguna Beach. They also have first-class apartments with multiple bedrooms. It's very nice. We toured their independent living and they had a nice gym, a nice library, and a very nice communal dining hall. These are all communal things. The staff was very helpful. They broke down the expenses for me and the different levels of service like you'd need assisted living. They broke it down and made the payment structure very easy to understand."

"It was a beautiful facility. Everybody was active. They had different activity rooms. A bus also took the residents to different places. A chef ran the dining area and the food looked fabulous. It was like a hotel. But the place was not suitable for my mom's needs. They also had additional charges for additional services. "

"The staff here was friendly. The facility was beautiful and there were a lot of interesting details and features that made it very special. The dining area was nice. The individuals can order off a menu, like at a restaurant. There were nice outdoor spaces and opportunities for recreation and programming, like music. Everyone was accommodating."

"We toured the Pacifica Senior Living South Coast's memory care unit. Their facility was a little more constrained, less open, and less of an area to live your life, I guess. The staff who assisted us during the tour was very cooperative and open enough to answer questions. The room we saw was very nice-looking and clean, but one thing we did not like about it was that it had a shared bathroom."

"We were very please with Park Plaza and its staff. They all seemed to be courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable. This extended from the housekeeping staff, through the dining room staff, receptionist, event coordinators, sales director, manager, etc. The facility is very neat and clean and cheerful. Their food is surprisingly good and you can tell that the chef puts a lot of thought and effort into putting together tasty and nutritious menus for their residents. There are many activities offered so resident may choose to be as active as they wish. They are located three blocks from Orange Senior Center and Old Town Orange Circle which offers a variety of shops and dining. "

"Corona RCFE was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The grounds were good. The room is perfect for my mother who is 92. She just needs a room with a little bed, a chair, and a TV. That's all she needs. It looks like she can go out and go to the dining room area, and things like that, and they have those things available too. The staff who helped me was very friendly and answered all the questions. She was very good. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area was fine. For activities, they have a little room where people can go and they can meet with each other and play games and so on, so that's fine."

"I went to Vista Corona Senior Living for my grandmother. What I liked best about it was the atmosphere. It was very warm and friendly. Everybody was accommodating. They were very nice and very friendly throughout the entire tour, even the people in the lunchroom. Both the guests and the staff were very welcoming. What I didn't necessarily like, and I don't know what was going on on one of the floors, is that their carpets needed to be cleaned."

"The Meridian at Anaheim Hills is in a great location. The grounds are beautiful. The units that we looked at were perfect. You could do anything you wanted to. You can do your kind of flooring. They have kitchenettes there. There are no negatives there. It's a lovely community that I would suggest to anybody who could afford it. The staff who gave the tour was lovely. They take their time, answer your questions, and ask you things you don't think about. The people are very nice. Everything looked lovely. For menus, you could have anything you want. Whatever you need, you can tell the chef, and they will take care of you."

"I visited Walnut Village. I loved the apartment that I looked at, and it was out in a quiet area. So for me, it was perfect. It just seems very friendly and nice. They have regular housekeeping and everything like that. They have a little store, a happy hour, and an indoor swimming pool. It was wonderful. The staff was very friendly. They went into great detail about the apartment. I was very happy with them. The food was excellent. The dining area was beautiful. lt's like dining at a beautiful restaurant. Everything was just perfect."

"Rowntree Gardens was a lovely place, but everybody seemed to be much older than I am. They weren't older in age, but they were using walkers, and I'm still running around. They have lovely apartments, a nice green area, and a garden where you can go and sit and meditate. The dining room was lovely and the food was very good. Everybody seems so happy living there. You know that they're getting good care. The dining area was like being in a restaurant."
