"Serra Sol Memory Care didn't look like an institution. It was modern looking. The staff was so attentive. They showed me the rooms. I like the room. We already picked out a room for my husband, and I liked the amenities that they offered. It's memory care. It's new, it's only about a year old. We did meet the chef, and he seems to want to cater -- in fact, my husband's Hungarian. And he asked my husband, What kind of food do you like? And my husband says, Hungarian. And he says, " Oh, I'll have to get some recipes." So I was impressed with the chef. It was so clean with no smells, no odors at all. They had large outdoor living spaces for visiting. You can visit anytime, day or night. Another thing I loved about the place, at least five days a week. They take the residents out in the van and they'll either go to the beach or go somewhere, or even if they just drive around. So in the afternoons they get them out, they just don't let them stay there, not just have to stay there all day long. I put a deposit on a room and they hold that particular room for 30 days. So now I have to go to the doctor. He has to have the doctor fill out forms. They're going to send a nurse out to the house to evaluate him. And they haven't made that appointment yet, but they'll be doing that shortly. He doesn't have to go there. They'll come to our house and evaluate his condition."

"I visited and it was very nice, though the price was a little bit high. They have a hotel atmosphere, and they have nice rooms. They're very clean. They're in a fairly nice area. What I liked about it, was they had a very active social calendar, and their food looked really good. It was very impressive. They had a lot of activities. They had like a charade. They had activities there like bingo, calisthenics, and wheelchair calisthenics and things like that. "

"Crestavilla - a Kisco Signature Community was elegant. The way that it was built, it had all the bells and whistles in the main place where you would go and have dinner and that kind of thing. That was very, very nice. One thing I like is that they had a movie theater and that was nice to have. They have like three movies going on in a day, which is very, very nice. They had a rooftop. The place was beautiful, it was close to the ocean and everything, but they were right up against the slope. Upstairs, they had a lovely place to walk around. If you were a gardener, you could garden up there, and you could do crafts, too. The one thing I did not like is that there was no view except for the sky. I just thought it was a shame that they were up against the slope. So that was my negative. The rooms were smaller. The kitchen was nice and adequate. The gentleman who showed us around was very much a people person. He had only been there for three months, so he did not know everybody's name. I like the location. It was right off the main road. It had some patio areas and a pool. It had crown molding, and you could tell that they had put quality first when they built it, and it's not that old. They had valet parking and different floor plans. The staff who toured me was good. They were really organized and very clean, too. "

"After several tours and meetings with Alison and her team, my mom moved to The Belmont about a year ago. Her initial hesitation quickly turned into pure joy—she absolutely loves it! She’s made so many new friends and her activity level has increased significantly. When I stopped by today to drop off an iPad charger, I had to interrupt her mid-game of Rummikub—her new favorite pastime! The staff and residents are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the dining room is always a big hit. We are so grateful to have found such a special place for her. "I looked at Ivy Park of Wellington which seemed to be the one that would meet my loved ones needs the best. I liked that they had a system of tracking residents who wander so that they would be less likely to get lost. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The assisted living units were spacious. They allowed pets. The food was quite good. They had a bistro for snacks. They had a very nice library. There's plenty of parking."

"Aegis of Laguna Niguel is a beautiful facility from the outside, and it had very nice common areas that were tastefully decorated. It seemed like there was quite a bit of activity going on, and it was in a nice location. The rooms weren't up to par, but they were OK."

"The Fountains is very clean, and the caregivers are all nice. They sit 24 hours at night, and you don't have to worry because if somebody gets up, they have the censors in the room. That was one of the problems I had because my husband would get up at night, so this was the solution. They keep them active during the day, so you're tired and sleeping better. They don't keep them in their rooms; they keep them in the front part doing things. They have exercises and a lot of music, people that come in and sing, and outings to the harbor. Every day, they give you a calendar, and it changes all the time. They have a lot of things because they try to keep the residents active. Their dining room is nice where they have small tables of four. It isn't like a big table with real table cloth and all the plastic and stuff; it is classy, and the place is nice. They have a one-bedroom, which are more expensive, with individual rooms and bathrooms. He has one that is like a little apartment, and then there is going to be another fellow in this room, but he has his own room, and they share a bathroom and a closet. For me, it was a little less expensive, so I decided on that, but you can have different types of accommodations. It was recommended by my daughters, and as a matter of fact, my sister said, "The only place you can put him in is the Fountains." I know people that had their husbands there, and they are given very good care. "

"Park Terrace was a very nice facility. The location was great. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Everybody we met seemed very gracious and caring. The place came across as a more luxurious place, also expensive, but you felt like you were getting a high level of quality and amenities for the price. The food looked good. The quality of the service, the interior design, and the property itself were very attractive and in good condition. The apartments were fairly spacious. The fixtures, plumbing, and such were pretty up-to-date. The apartment and the common areas were both very, very pleasant. It's one of the best I've seen."

"My stepdad moved into Aegis of Dana Point six months ago. It is not a large facility. They have nice rooms and feels more like a home. The staff has been very helpful and good. We had a good lunch there and ordered off a menu with a lot of variety. My stepdad’s room is very small, though. Because the facility is small, they don’t have a lot of the amenities that a larger facility offers, like a pool or a gym, and they don’t go on as many trips. "

"This is a nice facility, and the helpers try to plan activities so the residents don't get bored. They have live entertainment, and guests are encouraged to sing along. They also have a billards room, something that my relative and I can still do together. The chef is really great, too, and is able to make customized meals. This is especially important because my relative is a diabetic and needs to be careful of what she eats. Overall, I am happy with her care. "

"My parents are moving in. It is really pretty and got a lot of spaces outside. I am hoping they've got good staff. It seems nice and clean. The rooms are the nicest room I saw and the best that I have seen. They're very open and airy and have windows, and the rooms are really nice. The location is beautiful, it is on the coast. It is a really pretty location."
