"My dad has been living in Sunrise for two and a half months now. It looks like a Mexican hacienda with a drive-through circle in front, and there are lots of trees all around. They plant flowers to match the season, and inside at all the tables are fresh flowers every day. Dad’s room is upstairs, and they have furniture where you can sit and beautiful pictures on the wall. The staff who helped me on the tour was excellent. The place is real cozy and it feels like home. They have walking, movies and popcorn, ice cream socials, parties for the holidays, and puzzles. They don’t have a lot of outside activities; they take them out for drives sometimes but with no specific places. They have doctor assistance and staff who comes to the facilities, and we take advantage of that. The people who work there are so friendly, and they treat the residents with such respect and kindness. They’re always talking to them and just stopping in the room, and they check on them constantly. There’s such a real relationship between the people and the residents. There’s a group of caregivers that is in charge of a group of people, and they check on them every hour and are aware of what they’re doing. "

"Serra Sol Memory Care didn't look like an institution. It was modern looking. The staff was so attentive. They showed me the rooms. I like the room. We already picked out a room for my husband, and I liked the amenities that they offered. It's memory care. It's new, it's only about a year old. We did meet the chef, and he seems to want to cater -- in fact, my husband's Hungarian. And he asked my husband, What kind of food do you like? And my husband says, Hungarian. And he says, " Oh, I'll have to get some recipes." So I was impressed with the chef. It was so clean with no smells, no odors at all. They had large outdoor living spaces for visiting. You can visit anytime, day or night. Another thing I loved about the place, at least five days a week. They take the residents out in the van and they'll either go to the beach or go somewhere, or even if they just drive around. So in the afternoons they get them out, they just don't let them stay there, not just have to stay there all day long. I put a deposit on a room and they hold that particular room for 30 days. So now I have to go to the doctor. He has to have the doctor fill out forms. They're going to send a nurse out to the house to evaluate him. And they haven't made that appointment yet, but they'll be doing that shortly. He doesn't have to go there. They'll come to our house and evaluate his condition."

"Very nice, open facility. Room were bright and airy, and the staff was friendly. They knew all residents, and were helpful. They were patient with all residents, and went out of their way to assist. To get the full cost expectation, you need to assess the level of care necessary for each resident so they can price the help required. The food was very good, and my meal arrived quickly. Very nice to have skilled nursing facility attached. "

"We visited this facility along with a number of other similar board and care homes. This was by far the best facility - very clean, homey, all of the residents were being cared for and attended to. There is a beautiful sun room area looking out on the bluff with a wonderful view. There was music playing throughout the home. The staff was warm and friendly, and interacting with the residents, not sitting off by themselves like we saw at other facilities. Rozy, the owner, is a kind, compassionate person, who knows all the residents personally. Unfortunately, our loved one was not well enough to move to this home, and we had to make home-care hospice arrangements, but it definitely would have been our choice if we had been able to make the move."

"My mother in law stayed for the 1 month respite and after just 2 weeks decided she would come to live permanently from West Texas. The Staff have all been super friendly, attentive and ready to make any adjustments necessary for her care. Every day thete is a list of activities and social events for the residents. The facility is extremely clean, smells fresh and the dining staff are A+. My mother in law is very excited to come and live here very soon as we get her new cottage ready for her. "

"Casa Doctora III had a very nice curb appeal and a very warm and open living area. It's very clean. The residents were eating in the kitchen, and they were being attended to. They did not have any opening at that time, but it would have been some place that I would have talked to again because it had a very nice clean feel about it. Paul was very gracious and his wife is a nurse, so he has a nurse on-staff with him there. He pointed out that they get their food from Restaurant Depot and he had documentation and postings of his staff training on a bulletin board. He had everything readily available to whoever would come in and ask when was the last staff training and when his next training was scheduled."
