What Makes Us Special Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how lovingly and tirelessly my mother took care of my grandmother over the years. This transitioned into total care after grandma had a stroke; I was 9 years old at the time. While she made sure that everything was okay even as she simultaneously took care of her own family, mom also suffered from caregiver fatigue for taking on too much. She was afraid of letting her own mother go to a large assisted living facility and felt guilty for even entertaining the thought. At the time, I was really too young to help and understand much of what was going on but I could see how dedicated mother was up to the very last day. This experience would shape me and lead me to the path I would take, one in which I made it my life’s mission to serve people as a Registered Nurse and later became a Nurse Practitioner. I have been in the field of caring for others for more than 13 years now, which I strongly believe constitutes my true calling. I am especially passionate about working with the elderly people to whom I am easily drawn to and bond with in what I like to refer to as a ‘love at first sight’ connection that is mutually shared.
