Several factors played into our choice: The family liked that it was a smaller community and seemed more congenial and manageable, it was in close proximity to family members, and the staff were always pleasant and caring. As Mom lost mobility, the staff made sure she was always a part of activities. So many little kindnesses truly made our choice feel right. The building is well maintained and there is great effort to make it feel homey. Rooms are current and equipped, and Canterfield allows for many personal touches."

"My mother-in-law has moved into the Gallery at Cape Coral. I like how beautiful it is. The employees are very pleasant, cheerful, and helpful. She moved into assisted living with hopes to moving into independent living. She's enjoyed the visits with the dogs. They come in with their pet therapy and Lucky Dog activities. Her apartment is plenty spacious, and the other rooms are more than adequate to accommodate what they're trying to do in there. I think they do a nice job with the activities. It didn't smell. It's a hurricane five proof building. They did not have to evacuate last year when they had that hurricane. That was very important to us, that she would not have to go anywhere during the hurricane."

"American House Coconut Point was very nice. What stood out to us was the fact that you didn't have to tell them what time you wanted to eat dinner. The living atmosphere was very nice. They had activities, but we didn't stay long enough to see them. We saw the pool and the gym because we're interested in those. It was very clean, too."

"I like the location of Lehigh Acres Assisted Living, because it's an area that we're familiar with. My husband can still drive, and it's close to our doctors and so forth. So, it's convenient in that way. I only met two of the staff, and all of them were great. The facility was very clean. I like the fact that they have an outdoor area that you can go to. The rooms were very small for us. Two people in that room would be very difficult. My husband's about 6'2". I'm small, but I cough a lot. He wouldn't be able to breathe. He wouldn't be able to stretch out. We'd bump into each other just trying to get to the bathroom."

"We toured Alva Senior Living. I went and looked at all the rooms and what they have. We met with the director of the senior living section. We just walked through the whole thing, and she told us all about it, and we asked questions, and she answered all of them. The rooms were small, but they're very nice. They furnish everything except a mattress. So you don't have to bring your own furniture. They have rooms with big bathrooms and rooms with small bathrooms. We toured the dining area. They only have five people right now, and they're only gonna have a total of 16 when they're full. It's a very small unit. It was as clean as it could be. They have a big common room on the front of the building, and at one end is the dining room, which has a big long table with chairs, and it was decorated with fresh roses. It was very pretty. I didn't actually go into the kitchen, but I talked to the cook who was standing at the door, and she said they cook everything there. They don't buy any premade stuff. They have an area where, if somebody wants something during the day, like a snack or something to drink, or if they want something to eat, they can go and request it, and they can get it during the day if they want that. The staff was really good, answered our questions, and were very friendly. They're new, so they're just getting started. It was very nice."

"We liked American House the most. I think it was quite nice. It was newer. It was a nice place. It was very clean and open. The person who assisted us was nice. The atmosphere was also very nice. They had a lot of things for you to do and there were a lot of people there. "

"My dad has been here for a few weeks now, and he's happy there. I'm pretty happy with the place too. He has a nice apartment, and the residents are generally happy. Some days are different from the others, but the last time I was there, I heard people laughing. It was like a big party and dad loves it. He's very happy to have company, and he's getting everything he needs. The staff members are all very nice and cheerful, and they seem to enjoy their jobs. There's also longevity within the staff. Some of them have been there for a long time. He likes the food so far. They said he eats all of it and finishes his plate. The building was recently remodeled, like a year ago, so it looks good. He just has a closet door that could be in a little better shape, but that's not a big deal. It's all been remodeled, so it's nice, clean, and neat, and the bathroom looks good and modern. They do have activities every day. Some days it's bingo, then it's something else other days. Dad is very interested in that. It's perfect for the memory care residents. The decor is kind of weird, though; like in the hallway off to one side, there's a crib with a few baby dolls in it and they look realistic. It seems kind of weird to normal people but I get it. You have babies and that's something that everybody could relate to, and then over in the other hallway, they have a little tool area set out. So it's like a little bit of this and a little bit of that, but it's interesting and seems conducive to keeping them amused."

"I chose Naples Green Village because they take Medicare waivers. I like the place; it's fine. The rooms are just like a 1-bedroom, and my husband will be going into a shared room pretty soon. They're renovating everything so it's nice. It's got a little counter with a refrigerator. We had to furnish all the furniture so he got a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, a couple of chairs, and he's all set. The staff is very good, he said the food is better than the previous nursing home, and that's saying a lot for him. They have activities, but with the COVID-19, they can't really get together."

"My friend chose here. They were great. They were very welcoming and very attentive. They sat with her and asked her a bunch of questions and they made her feel welcome. She really liked the girls there, especially Christie. She's really fond of her. Everything looked really clean and really nice."

"I want your new waitress Renata she deserves recognition. In addition to always getting our order correct, she comes back several times to ask how the food was and if there is anything else that we need. When we are finished, she will ask if we want desert. She is so pleasant and always has a smile. I felt like I was at a restaurant on fifth avenue."

"People tend to only want to talk about things when they are negative. My father has been in this community for 2 years and has always been treated with respect and dignity. The employees are angels, they truly care about the people they are charged with caring for and it shows. You can feel the warmth when you walk in the door. Good food, good activities, I am very happy. It's very hard to please everyone but the staff here bend over backwards trying. "

"I liked the layout of Colliers at Naples Assisted Living a lot, and I liked the events. It was kind of around the hurricane time, and I was happy that it was a safe place. It was all fine. Nothing had happened. It just seemed organized. The staff was very nice and helpful, with a lot of information. It had room to entertain. It is the one I chose partly because it was closer to me. I liked the apartment better than the other place. Unfortunately, the one they had available wasn't the one I wanted."
