Golden Sands is a small home in a quiet residential neighborhood converted to an assisted living facility. It feels like home, not an institution. The CNAs are very patient and caring and have a lot of contact with the residents. My mother was in a wheelchair and incontinent and they provided everything she needed. The administrator Swaby was responsive and ready to help. Mom became friends with her roommate and especially enjoyed the weekly music afternoon (someone came to play music for the residents) and going outside to sit.

My mother is a resident of Golden Sands. The most unique feature is the feeling of being right at home, warm surroundings and friendly people all around. Swaby R. the owner is hands on 24/7 and all the staff is kind and professional as well. Our family is so happy to have this special place and have been since my Dad was a resident in 2005. Wonderful meals, pleasant walks around the lovely grounds sit with friends in the living room area and watch TV are a few of the many amenities they enjoy before turning into a cozy warm bedroom.

I had the occasion to visit a client at this facility. This is one of the smaller facilities that I have visited in Broward County, but no matter. The clients that I observed at the facility seemed less functional and more dependent on the staff for assistance. The facility itself is very clean, bright and cheery. There is a peaceful feeling that I had while there. As there are less clients in the ALF, the staff are able to give more individual attention, as opposed to putting a client in front of a television and leaving them. The staff are very focused on the clients. A staff person always seemed to be right at hand for any assistance that someone may need, whether that means getting a glass of water or giving them a book to work in. The staff seem very dedicated and that speaks volumes.

I went to visit a friend whom I haven't seen in years. I was glad to know my friend was being well taken care of at this facility. Everyone seemed nice and my friend seemed to be quite happy. When I first walked in, one of the volunteers at the facility asked if I was here to visit someone. As soon as I replied yes, she directed me to her room. I thought she was very kind. I stayed with my friend for a couple hours. I joined her in some television fun. A couple of staff members came in to check up on her. They seemed quite attentive. Their energy was high which was very impressive. I had a good time and I was very impressed with the level of service they provide.
