My brother moved to the assisted living facility of Luther Ridge in Middletown. There are only so many in the state of Connecticut, and they are subsidized, so that was the closest one that made sense to us. They also look good, and I'm happy with them, so far. Right now, my brother definitely has dementia, and he's showing signs that he doesn't want to stay on the property. I think they are doing a better job of curtailing that behavior and making sure he's safe. They have super nice and good staff. My brother is not happy with the food, but he's more of a vegan, so he doesn't care for it that much. They have a library and an outdoor space. The price they are charging for rent and food is very reasonable, but that's subsidized, so the government is helping with that.

I visited Luther Ridge with my son. It was very nice. The people were nice. They have lots of things to do. They have things that older people would enjoy doing. They have a bus that takes you where you want to go. I thought Luther Ridge was very nice except for the fact that the rooms were small.

I had an extended tour at Luther Ridge. The place is wonderful. I was driven with everything. The place is very clean and I would say well run. They have lots of activities like bingos. They also have several religious activities. I have spoken to the activity director and she said that if I like any activity to start, she would be happy to do it. They also got transportation. Everything is there that I possibly want. They do allow pets which is important for me as I have a cat.

Luther Ridge is very nice. The apartments were very nice and I liked it a lot. It's also subsidized, so the price was very good. My mother is in a motorized wheelchair, and although there's an elevator she can use I don't think she's going to be comfortable with that. So that was not something that I was too happy about. I've heard other people that have lived there said the food was good. They talked about the food being cooked on the premises. And it smelled good when I was there.
