My mother has moved into Ocean Breeze Senior Village. It's a 62+ independent senior apartment. So far, it's been great and they've been really helpful. It's very quiet and it's centrally located. It is a little pricey for senior housing at $1400 a month but it is very nice. It's very clean. The staff has been very helpful. It has all the amenities and it's spacious. What was important for my mom are grab bars in the shower and they have it and it's very nice. The facility is very clean and well maintained. There are a lot of trees and greenery around. They have a clubhouse for seniors with lots of sitting areas. It's very walker-friendly for residents that have walkers or canes. They also have elevators. There is no air-conditioning in the apartments. I guess being close to the water, it's maybe not imperative, but so far, so good. I think $1400 is a lot better and it's considered. not for low income, but it's rent-controlled. I'm assuming that $1400 for the area is reasonable. I just think that for seniors on a limited income, it is a little pricey. But then again, it depends on who you talk to. My mother only makes $1400 a month, so everything she makes goes to pay her rent. I guess it's a good value for the area because I look at other apartments as well and it's right around the same, give or take a hundred or two hundred dollars. So, it is pricey. I think it's a lot.
