Royalton of Fair Oaks is a small facility"”just six beds"”that offers a high level of dementia care. There's always 2-3 staff there for the 6 residents, and they're all well trained and nurturing. There's also an awake staff at night, checking residents every 10-15 minutes, depending on their needs. They specialize in difficult dementia cases as well as hospice and offer individual care plans. They also use doctors for geriatric case management, which is a real plus. It's located in a high-end neighborhood about 10 miles from downtown Sacramento. The rooms are all private with a half bath, and it's very homey, furnished with antiques. The setting is also nice, with a park-like back yard. And the meals are home-cooked, served family style. They do a good job of incorporating clients' likes and dislikes and prepare individual meals for special diet needs.
