"My uncle has moved into Mill Ridge Village. The location and the staff are what made us choose this community. The staff members are super helpful, caring, and accommodating. My uncle's apartment is a small studio with lots of storage. The place is super clean. They have a nice courtyard, which is secured. There's a lot of activities. They have a game room and a movie-TV room. So far, so good."

"I toured Prestige Senior Living Auburn Meadows. Everyone was very friendly. They asked me good questions. It was close to my home which is a plus. They did show me two different rooms. They looked nice and adequate, and they had a nice dining room. The rooms that I saw were furnished. They have a fridge, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly."

"I went to Village Concepts of Auburn - Brannan Park. The tour was good, but they had no rooms. The people I talked to were good. They helped me out quite a bit. The rooms were okay. It was clean enough, and that's the main thing. I talked to the people in the front office. They're helpful. The cleanliness of the building looked all right. The atmosphere was a little bit upbeat. The room sizes were small but good."

"We toured Meridian at Stone Creek. It's nice. The little houses are beautiful. They have a special where you only pay $200 monthly for all your utilities. So, that was nice. They also have a free first month's rent, which is good, and you only have to pay a $1200 deposit to get in. So it is a good deal. I wish it has been a little bit bigger. My daughter thinks that we've been a little crowded. It's a beautiful little cottage. They were pretty. They have cathedral ceilings, a lot of light, and a little fireplace. It was an electric fireplace, and I like it."

"I toured Fountain Court Senior Living. It's nice that I have my house. I have my privacy. If I choose to go have meals, I can do that. If I want to cook, I have a full kitchen. It's like a little house rather than an apartment. So it's more private, more secluded. We have three meals a day. We just walk a short way over to the building for our entertainment, exercise, meals, etc. They have many more activities. Something going on like four days a week for shopping to many different places out to lunch day, scenic day. They go to zoos and things like that. I have not eaten there, so I don't know how their food is, but I understand the cook has been there for five years, and everybody seems happy with the cooking. I've only talked to one person there, and that is like the person who showed us the house and told us about it and gave us a tour. It's very nice, it's very clean and well laid out. There's a lot of trees. There's a lot of strawberries. The people were nice. They were friendly. They spoke to me and said hi. They smiled as I walked by. I thought it was very good as well."

"We've chosen Bonaventure of Maple Valley because they had immediate availability of a two-bedroom unit in assisted living, and other places had a waiting list. Another reason is the explanation of services provided. They use a level plan instead of a menu plan where you have to choose. They explained the services that you'd be getting for a certain price. The staff was very nice. I've chosen the two-bedroom, two-bath with real good views. There are so many amenities. I liked that they have a simulated golf thing where you hit into a golf bat and it tells you how far you hit it and all that, then the transportation that they had and the ease of being able to get into that transportation. It's pretty new, so everything looked nice. We live in a 55 and over community, and several residents that used to live here have moved to Bonaventure, so that's kind of a good thing."

My daily walk around the building totally unencumbered is wonderful. Last, but not least, COGIR is a community of caring individuals. Most residents care about each other and their daily well-being. "Brookdale Federal Way was a wonderful facility. I thought it was excellent. My wife immediately took to all the people there. They were nice to her. The people that were of her age were very nice to her when we went into the facility. She wanted to stay, and she didn't want to go. I was very impressed. They showed me a room and it was very nice. The rooms were nice. They had a refrigerator and a microwave. And I think we could bring in a TV if we wanted something. But the rooms were fine. They were plenty big enough. They weren't really small at all. They were excellent. They had programs for them wherein you're not just stuck in your room all the time. The staff who took me around was good. She was very intelligent and very understanding. As for the food, it looked like they had a good choice from the menu they showed me. It was clean and I smelled nothing. "

"I toured Brookdale Foundation House. I liked the fact that they included meals and transportation in the service. My concern is there isn't enough space. I'm trying to downsize from a house to a one- or two-bedroom apartment, and it's not enough space for me. The rooms seem to be very nice. They were roomy and didn't have a whole lot of stuff. They're great. They have little kitchenettes off of the rooms. I didn't see a lot of the staff. I can see them at a distance. They seemed to be interacting well with the clients, seeing what they wanted to eat in the dining room, and things like that. So they seem to be very helpful. The dining room was a pleasant room for people to interact and socialize. The community is near shopping areas. It looks like it's pretty well laid out. What I didn't like was that the available rooms were so far from the dining area. I'd probably end up using my electric wheelchair to get from point A to point B depending on where I got a room in there. But as far as the layout, it's convenient, and it's close to shopping and other amenities. I also looked at the menu and the choices looked like they were good choices with variety."

"I toured Spring Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was a very clean facility and it was nice. It was very well managed. The residents seem to be very well cared for. The staff was very attentive. They had a library. They had a recreational room and an exercise room. It was a split place where one side is assisted living and one side is memory care. I spoke with a very personable receptionist and the person who gave us the tour, I spoke with them and asked them about some of the things, like if they had physical therapy there and if they had pools, but they didn't. That's not common, I guess I thought it would be. I didn't sample a meal but noticed that the meals were changed a lot. It's not a lot of repetitive food. I did get to talk to one of the ladies in the kitchen and she said they try to mix up the menu quite frequently just to give people a different type of food to eat."
