"Madison House was a little too fancy, and my grandma was more of a homey old style kind of girl. It was beautiful, but it was not what we were looking for. Everything was really nice. There was no smell or anything. The only thing was that we had an appointment with them, but when we got there, there wasn't anyone prepared. We ended up waiting for 15 minutes, and we had to make it quick. Then we went back with my mom and grandma; that's when we realized that they were too fancy, and it didn't made her feel like home. However, it was nice, and the people there seemed nice too. It was a very elegant place and good place to visit. I guessed it was very TLC. All the rooms were very perfectly put together, and they were very beautiful. I liked the rooms, but it was just too much for my grandmother. "

"the leadership is solid. It appears as if they are focused on maintaining high standards with the facility and Fed/state requirements. The staff is incredibly friendly and caring. Everyone I've met is committed to delivering quality customer care. The one issue my mom complains the most about is the food. Two things, not enough protein and such very bland taste. Aegis might want to put some low sodium seasoning on the table. Also, the blinds covering the sliders of the first floor residents are cheap. Currently, my mom has approximately 8 vinal pannels that are missing. I don't have a solution for the facility but fully intend to incur the expense to put up nicer blinds. "

"My mother has lived at Cogir in Mill Creek for a very long time as an independent living resident. We couldn’t have made a better choice with her, especially with the current director who has made some great decisions for the overall vibe of the residence. I am pleased with all of the staff I’ve had contact with, and I hope they all feel appreciated in their positions. There are many friendly residents from all walks of life. I hope they all have families or friends nearby to visit them. I’ve eaten in the dining room many times. The current chef prepares wonderful meals and the wait staff are very caring and patient. My mother has never complained about the food at Cogir. There is a long list of activities to meet just about any desired need. I find Cogir at Mill Creek to be a very welcoming and warm environment, and I hope my mother can stay as long as she is able to financially. It is kind of a hidden gem."

"My dad is going to Laurel Cove Community for respite care. It seems like a very caring community. The staff that we worked with for the placement bent over backward to understand our needs and get to know my dad who is going there. They were just very easy to work with, and we felt like they would provide a caring place for him to go. The facility seemed clean and organized. They had availability, too. The person who took us on a tour was very caring, knowledgeable, and interested in our needs. He worked hard to try to understand what we needed and tried to reassure us."

"The people here at Scriber Gardens are nice. I like all of them. They are wonderful. They have a gym here for whatever needs you have, as far as working out, and then they have all kinds of games, such as bingo and crosswords. The food is good, and the chef does all kinds of things, trying to get people to like his food, but it's just not necessarily my style. I'm more of a home-cooking type of person, and he doesn't necessarily do those kinds of foods. It's just his style. There's nothing wrong with it. The refrigerators are terrible. They could get new ones. They don't have anything for cooking at all. They only have a microwave. They should have at least some cooking areas. I have a dog and so wherever I went, my dog had to be comfortable, too. What I found here is I have a room with a door that goes outside so I can take my dog directly outside. I don't have to go down the hall to get him to do his business. That was the reason why I'm here."

"My brother was in Cogir of Edmonds Assisted Living & Memory Care. My brother liked it, and that was the one major criteria. They offer a basic level of care and for the time frame that we needed to have him there. We asked them to do regular blood pressure and blood sugar measures, which they did, but they did them at random times instead of fasting blood sugar, which is what we needed. They were supposed to observe him taking his meds, but they administered them to him because he couldn't do that by himself. The staff was helpful. They allowed my brother to do the things he wanted to do and didn't pressure him to do things they didn't want to do. The staff members were very attentive. He liked the meals and felt that it was adequate. He was not interested in group activities, but after being there for a while, he got to enjoy those and participate in them. So I think that was a very good asset for him. The facilities were excellent. They were clean and well maintained. I was astonished and disappointed with the cost. I thought it was overpriced."

"I have a friend who lives at Brookdale Arbor Place. She absolutely loves it there, which is why I thought this would be a good place for my mother. The staff’s work attitude is good. They’re excellent. I’ve seen their food, and it is good. They have sitting exercises, where you sit on a chair and you exercise, which is good for them. They have all kinds of card games and bingo and a bus that will take them wherever they need to go, like to an appointment or a store. They have hairdressers and a wellness center right there, so they get all their medications and stuff through them. "

"Ascent Adult Family Home LLC was clean. They had a locked closet that you had to have a code to get into for the medications. The lady showed me around and she was just very nice and friendly. They were going to be getting the room ready (it wasn't ready yet) for my sister. They have to do an assessment first, so she would work with me on my sister. It's a home. From the second floor, getting to the yard in the back would be difficult for the people, but they've got a deck in the summer where people can go out onto and they have two of them. One had raised beds around the whole perimeter so that people could do gardening in it. It was comfortable-looking and it just seemed very nice. The lady I met was the owner. She lived downstairs. She was very personable and caring. They just didn't have a lot of parking, because it's in a neighborhood. So, their parking was not very good to go and visit."

She has been there since March. Like I say, they look on her frequently, always worry about her, and make sure that she gets her meals. "
