The average age at Brookdale Arbor Place is 84, but age is just a number for our residents. You'll find an active, friendly, diversified and happy community filled with kind residents who care about each other. The residents participate in a variety of activities of their choice both inside and outside of the community. Residents love to enjoy the serenity of the beautiful campus, the friendships they make and the quality of life they experience at Brookdale Arbor Place.
What programs or activities does Brookdale Arbor Place offer to enrich residents' well-being?
We are known for our holistic approach and commitment to enriching the lives of our residents. We build our activities schedule to fulfill our six dimensions of wellness for each resident. The dimensions include the resident's emotional, physical, spiritual, social and intellectual needs a well as each resident's need to have purpose in their lives. We offer 7 day a week activities from 9-7pm and encourage our residents to participate regularly at whatever level they are comfortable. You will find a fun variety of calendared activities that everyone can enjoy. A part of our extensive monthly schedule includes a weekly happy hour with professional performers who are in addition to our full time staff fun and engaging approach. We also have a wonderful connection in the volunteer community to expand our programming with a variety of local talent who love to perform for our residents. We also have a uniquely beautiful campus which allows us to take our activities outdoors as well.

Brookdale Arbor Place is located in a quiet private setting surrounded by a green belt located next to Providence Medical Clinic and behind Fred Meyer. We are within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Mill Creek Town Center is located one mile South and Silver Lake is within 3/4 of a mile for those who like to go for a walk.
What transportation services does Brookdale Arbor Place offer to assisted living residents?
At Brookdale Arbor Place we operate a 12 passenger shuttle bus with a wheelchair lift to assist residents who have a variety of needs and places they want to go. We also transport residents in our 6 passenger vehicle which residents are able to utilize throughout the week for various destinations. We offer free transportation for medical appointments on Tuesday's and Thursday's to help residents and families keep up with their appointments. We schedule trips throughout the week to a variety of stores for resident shopping and we provide transportation to a fun variety of places for activities each week at no charge.
What makes the chef or dining program at Brookdale Arbor Place exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
We see breakfast, lunch and dinner as the three most important events of each day. With that in mind, our culinary professionals, who have over thirty years of experience serving seniors take personal pride in providing high-quality meals that are both nutritional and full of flavor. We offer a wide variety of choices from comfort foods to fine dining. We focus on the details and are committed to doing things the right way. We offer a healthy European style dining experience which means the largest meal of the day is offered at noon. Our menu selections offer a variety of options each day so each resident gets to choose for themselves. We want our residents to know that they don't have to go out to find a better meal. Our Chef meets with the residents in a Chef Chat Meeting to hear to the wishes of the resident's. We also love to see family members join us for meals and events.
What safety features or security measures does Brookdale Arbor Place offer to assisted living residents?
Brookdale Arbor Place offers 24/7 active coverage which includes 16 hr./day nursing with overnight caregivers and Medication Technicians. We check residents three times a day at meals and throughout the day as care needs are met. Our residents can use our call system 24/7 to call staff for assistance. We have a sign in sign out system to support the security of our residents. All visitors are required to wear a name badge as well. All exit doors are secured and alarmed overnight.
How does Brookdale Arbor Place keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
We have a clinical team that contacts family members for any care changes or needs. We schedule care conferences to partner with families on individualized care. Families are welcome to participate in our monthly family meeting for updates, education and communicating with managers.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Brookdale Arbor Place during daytime and nighttime hours?
Our staffing is aligned based on our occupancy and individual resident care needs. We have Licensed Practical Nurses on duty 16 hours per day and our Registered Nurse is here full-time Monday thru Friday and is on-call 24/7. We have a higher than average staffing ratio made up of nurses, caregivers and medication technicians. Because our care structure is individualized to each resident, it allows us to staff according to the need in our community.
If Brookdale Arbor Place accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Brookdale Arbor Place recognizes the joy and health benefits companion pets bring to our residents so we do accept dogs and cats into the community that are friendly and manageable. The community is very easy to maneuver and we have a quarter mile of walking space around the building with no traffic that residents love to use with their pets. We have a uniquely spacious and beautiful campus surrounded by vast lawns, trees, squirrels and bunnies. We also have a number of pets that like to visit in the fireplace room which brings joy to all the residents.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
Our Optimum Life continuing education training series includes required monthly computer based training specific for each staff member and approved by the state for annual CEU's. Training includes regular training on abuse and neglect, dementia care, transfer safety, HIPPA, safety practices, infection control, fire safety, lock out tag out and many other relevant topics. We hold daily clinical meetings and monthly department as well as regular staff meetings which all contain specific training to benefit the staff's ability to serve our resident's.
What safety features or security measures does Brookdale Arbor Place provide to protect residents who wander?
We are an Assisted Living community. Our care team is trained to identify residents at risk for wandering and will assist in finding appropriate placement if safety becomes a concern.
