Ativo Senior Living of Yuma was almost like a brand-new facility. It's very, very nice. It's the one we wanted to have my neighbor in, but we couldn't get in there because they had an outbreak of COVID and they weren't accepting anyone new. It's a very, very high-end facility. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. They showed us everything about the place. We had a very, very good tour. They had a very professional dining area, an exercise room, a beauty salon for ladies or haircuts for the men, an area in the back for walking the dog (they allow small pets), a movie theater room where they would show movies, and a craft area. It's just a very, very nice facility.

Ativo Senior Living of Yuma is absolutely beautiful. The quality of the establishment is phenomenal. It's brand new. The cleanliness of it was just excellent. The staff were kind and very caring. They listened and were willing to give any kind of direction that was needed. They realize that we're not looking for a direct home right now. We are looking for the future and what's out there. They realized that it could be eight months to a year basically, but things could change tomorrow, so they were accommodating that way. They offered to come back if my father and I wanted to come back and have a meal. We had been there for prior dementia in service that they had, so we had tasted some of the food that time that they catered in from downstairs. They have a beautiful theater room with very comfortable chairs and a large screen, so the residents would have a very comfortable area. It was just pristine. Their activities depend. You've got the non-memory residents such as assisted living, there are group activities and there are buses to locations to shop. What I thought is very convenient for residents (memory and non-memory) is a beauty shop. That's very important, I feel, to have beauty shop within the location that the residents on both sides can use. The rooms were very accommodating. It depends on your price point, of course. The larger the room, the higher the price point. You've got to consider what a family can afford. Like we're looking for the memory and there are not a lot of options out there because of the patient-staff ratio, which I found very good in the locked unit plus in the residence unit (the other side). The room was accommodating for what the price points are. The food was very, very tasty. Especially with the diabetic foods that we tasted, I thought it was good.

Ativo Senior Living of Yuma is brand new. They're not even a year open, but it was very nice. They have a very nice dining room. They have a chef that prepares all the meals. They're very nutritional meals and there's lots of protein, and they looked really good actually. They provide three meals a day. The sample apartment we looked at was very nice and very clean. The people were friendly. They weren't pushy at all. They showed us the facility and then let us ask questions and they answered all the questions thoroughly. It was the registered nurse that took us around. He was able to explain everything well. He explained the pricing, and the pricing was better than the other ones. It was less expensive. The room they showed to us had a refrigerator and it had a small four-burner range with an oven and a microwave. They have a pet park. You can have pets there evidently.
