"Desert Rose is very pretty. If you don't need assistance and you can do a lot of walking, that's a great place to be. But my mom has a walker so she's limited in her walking. There was a lot of long- distance walking there, and so it didn't work. The food was good, and it was a good selection, too. They had a lot of interesting dishes that were presented differently. The place was very pretty and very clean. My mom would still be there if she hadn't had her stroke. In that short period of time that she was there, they upgraded the dining facility and everything, so it's a very nice place. It's for senior living, not assisted living. They have lots of activities, too. My mom enjoyed the most was the activity with a balloon. It was like they're playing volleyball with it, so that kept them moving and laughing. The staff was helpful, courteous, and pleasant. There was just a little bit of delay in getting things done there. Regarding value for money, the rooms were more like apartments and so it made it feel like you had a home instead of just a room."

"I visited Emerald Springs, and I liked it much better. The room was of nice size, but you have to furnish it, to make it more comfortable for your loved one. The dining room was very nice; I really liked their setup, and what they do for the people there. They have a lot of activities, they have an exercise room, and they take them out on a bus to see the doctor. "

"We have moved into Yuma Senior Living. It's got an outdoor courtyard situation, so you're not all indoors all the time. I've walked several blocks a day inside the courtyard without leaving the premises. Three meals a day are served in the dining room. The office is open five days a week Monday through Friday. There are activities in the morning and the afternoon of each day. It's economical. I would call the buildings majestic. There's a lot of greenery and water features on the grounds. The rooms are all two-room apartments with a bath, a step-through tub, a living room, and a bedroom. They are all fully furnished, including laundry the sheets, pillowcases, and towels once a week, and housekeeping. So, you just come in with a suitcase, bring your clothes and handle your wash. It's also the cheapest I could find."

"My parents are currently living in River Valley Estates, and I’ve been very impressed with it. They’ve been very cooperative because they know I’m a long-distance relative. The nurse has been very helpful in following up things with me. The manager was very helpful, too. The food is excellent. They offer four to five activities every day, with a lot of them repeats from day to day, and have bingo almost every day, worship services, and movie night once a week They also have a weekly trip to someplace if people want to go on an excursion. They also have their menu in plain English, so it’s easy for my folks to know what they’re going to eat. They have singing groups that come in and sing. The facility is brand new and opened in March."
