This facility has nine residents, and it's an all-male residence. It's assisted living for people who have had brain injuries and need different levels of assistance. They're licensed to deal with traumatic brain injuries and behavioral issues. It's not just a senior home "“ they have younger residents too. They have a visiting RN and a psychiatric doctor who comes in. They're activities are centered around the living room. The rooms are private and average-sized. The facility is clean. They have a fenced yard. It has a lawn. It's kept up, but they can't do a lot there because of the type of residents they have. They do provide transportation for the residents that can go out, and they do that through Dial-A-Ride. They take them to ball games and different other sports that men enjoy. When they can, they take them on outings to eat or to go to a park, or just to drive and look around. The staff seems really good with the residents. They do have home cooking there. It seems like they have at least average food. They're one of the only homes like this around here. The facility is average "“ it's not anything fancy, but because of the type of residents they have, they can't have a lot of fancy things anyway. They are handicapped accessible in case any of the residents need it. I didn't see a lot of family interaction there. The woman who gave me the tour said that a lot of the families do come and try to take them out, but that because of some of the resident's behavioral problems, sometimes the families have a tough time dealing with them. If I had a family member that needed that kind of help, I would put them in this facility.
