Canyon Winds Retirement

We took a tour of Canyon Winds Retirement Community and loved it. I know someone whose mother is there and so we just decided that that would be the best place for mom. It was a very beautiful facility. The rooms were new and very nicely done. Some of them had views of the mountains. They had a beautiful pool there. Everybody we met, including several residents, was very friendly. Dasha was very, very nice. I was very impressed with their activities. It seemed like they had a lot of different activities going on. They have a happy hour. They do some intergenerational programs with the school that my granddaughters go to and that appealed to me. It just seemed like they had a lot of different things to offer, and I was interested in some place for my mom where she could do a lot of activities to keep her busy.

My grandmother has been at Canyon Winds for a year and a half now. The facility is very nice and the rooms are nice, but their activities are repetitive. They do movies and games. They have a gym, a dining room, and a movie theater. The staff all seem pretty friendly. I don't interact much with the staff myself, but I know they come in to clean her room and do her laundry. I know my grandma does hamburgers a lot. She tells me she's not crazy about the food but they do have an open menu that you can choose a la carte.

My husband moved into the assisted living of Canyon Winds Retirement Community. He's very happy there. It's very clean and very nice. The staff has been very forthcoming, very nice, and very helpful. My husband raves about the food, and he just loves it. They have huge puzzles they can work on, they have bingo, theater, they have chuch, and he loves it that he can go to church there. They have a courtyard where they could get around.
