This place was amazing - my mother received hospice care here until she passed away. First, I have to say that if you have ever dealt with larger hospice organizations, you probably had fair service but secretly hoped for something better. That something better is this place. The owners, Dana and Scott, were sweet and super accommodating and treated my mother with kindness and dignity. I was worried at first that it might be strange because the facility is a house, not, say, a formal home with its own light up sign and parking lot. Five minutes there, and it was like Mom was at home. She had her own room, a call button, and the owners and nurses there were dedicated to making her comfortable - she was immediately more comfortable here than she had been in the hospital, and everything was clean, and nothing smelled (no fragrance sprays, body odor, OR bleach). The owners don't live there - to be clear about it being a house, it is not a home where someone is renting out a spare room, the whole house IS the care home, and have staff that work day and night shifts, which means that there is always someone awake and alert to care for the residents. They also had a very adorable therapy dog in-training named Samson, who also makes the rounds and checks on patients - I can't even say how much that little dog meant to us. My mother lost her fur-companion several years ago and was not well enough to have another. Seeing Samson, her face lit up and she was so happy to pet him. All around, Ashton Gardens was a wonderful place, and they made my mother's last few days with us easier. We're so grateful to have found this place.

Ashton Gardens is more high-class, however the price is too much for my mom. It's very nice and looked more like a hotel environment, the staff was really great. The rooms we saw were fabulous and well lit, and the model room that I saw was well-decorated and clean. It was a comfortable living situation. The dining area there was really pleasant including their amenities and things.

Ashton Gardens is about as good as it can get. Compared to where my mom was, this place is much better. I like the people and the employees. They're the ones who make or break the place. I'm only familiar with two of the staff members, but they're very caring, accommodating, and they do their jobs. They have game sessions, but most of the people there are not very active. I would like to see more physical therapy.
