We are in a senior community called Cottages on the Ridge. They offer reasonably competitive rents. They're independent. There are no stairs, not even over the threshold, so it's fully wheelchair compliant. There's a walk-in shower and wide hallways. The kitchen is laid out so that a wheelchair can get around easily. The floor plan and the layout are quite adequate. The community itself is quite attractive. I would have to give the staff a fair rating. They provide activities at the clubhouse that are enjoyed by a lot of people, certainly not the majority of the people here. I think the majority of the people here are pretty independent, but the manager tends to be a bit of a stickler on rules. They have a birthday celebration every month, and then they have potlucks later in the month. The theme varies from month to month. They have an open coffee hour in the morning around 10:00, and then they have card games or board games in the afternoon. There are no meals provided. During the potlucks, the staff would provide some support with the meals. Like last time, they had pulled pork that they provided. One time they had a baked potato thing, and another time they had a hot dog thing. They provide just a little bit of food, but oftentimes the residents will bring potluck stuff in, and everybody comes and shares that. There are about 104 units here, and typically at these functions, I would see between 15 and 20 people.
