Unfortunately, we are not able to accept pets in our facility.

What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?

Accepted Answer

Our care director who is a nurse does frequent evaluations of our caregivers and keeps them updated on policy changes and or trains them in how to serve the changing needs of our residents.

Accepted Answer

Training is offered on a case-by-case basis depending on whether we have a dementia resident in one of our homes and the specifics of their care. We are not able to accept all dementia cases.

Accepted Answer

Our nurse works with the residents primary care physician and therapists to develop a care plan and adjust it as needed.

Our caregivers will feed a resident if they need it. We make sure our residents get fed and are well-nourished.

We individualize the activities for each resident based on their needs and preferences. We may spend an hour playing scrabble one-on-one with one resident and an hour outside on the deck with another or working in the specialized raised garden with a third.

We do not currently accept residents who wander.

We specialize in residents who need assistance getting around. We have a couple of transportation services that we work with that can accommodate wheelchairs. We are centrally located to several residential areas making it very convenient for the families of residents to keep their loved one close to where they live.

Accepted Answer

A high caregiver to residents ratio of a minimum of 1:3. Our caregivers check on our residents a minimum of once every 2 hours but it is frequently more often. Especially during the day our caregivers interact with our residents frequently. If they need anything a caregiver is always nearby to assist them.

Each resident has a care plan and our caregivers interact with our residents according to that plan which includes activities oriented to help keep the resident engaged.

Our residents vary in age but most are in their 70's and 80's. They enjoy playing games, watching movies, reading books, or sitting outside on the deck.

We have several amazing cooks on staff and we customize each residents meal to their preferences as much as possible. Once we know a residents likes and dislikes we cater their snacks and meals to their taste.
