"StoneCreek of North Richland Hills was two stories, and it was extremely nice. It was very impressive. It is an excellent place to go for people who want a really nice place with lots of really good activities, where people are involved with each other, where they can visit, and make friends. It was beautiful and very well planned. They had very large rooms, a large dining room, and a lot of other amenities. Everybody was happy and nice. The people were very engaged there. They had people in wheelchairs and walkers. Barbi was really good and very experienced. She really knew what she was talking about, explained things extremely well, and was very friendly. We liked her. The other people seemed great. There were people at the front desk. They had check-in and a lot of COVID type policies. It was an impressive place. The facility was incredible. They have a library full of books and a chapel. They have little daily devotionals. I noticed they had a piano. On each floor, there is a little gym. They also had chair exercises that people can go to. They have activities set up. The staff talked about some of the people there, and one of them was in a wheelchair and was able to start walking. I was very impressed, and I'm not easily impressed."

"We toured the Good Place. They have large garden pots, and when the residents want to plant, they have pots for them, and they can tend to their flowers. I thought that was very nice. I met a resident that was a good ambassador for the place and also the manager there. The one room we saw was under renovation, but we saw a resident's room, and that was very helpful. They have transportation to doctors' visits."

"Mustang Creek Estates - Keller was very nice and kept up very well. I think it would satisfy the level of care that we need at this time. I liked the 3 meals a day and the snacks. I saw the manager and the director, and a lady in the kitchen, but I didn't see any nurse on staff. The rooms were nice and spacious. I saw cakes and cookies laying around for snacks. They had family-style dining on their large tables. There was a family room with a fireplace, a sitting area, and a TV. I saw some game boards. They had outdoor seating for the residents."

"My mother has been at Avanti for approximately 5 years. There was a distinct lack of communication, returned phone calls, and simple professionalism for the families paying the bill. However, since the new executive director Byron has come on board, he is addressing communication concerns and seems to be rallying staff and building a more positive culture. "

"My mom is at The Harvest of Roanoke. It's a very nice facility. She went in as assisted living with the evaluation to possibly put her in memory care. The food looked good. My mom is eating much better than where she was then. The rooms are very nice. It's a nice and very homey community. In the common area, they have games. It's very updated and beautifully decorated. The staff has been awesome. They've been wonderful. They embrace us when we come in, and keep us abreast of anything they think we should know. Their director, Monique, has been fabulous. And I have nothing negative at all to say to any of them. I noticed the residents did arts and crafts. There's an area where they can go in and play. They can get their hair done, and they have a place where they can go and watch movies. There's a lot of things that they do there. It's a little expensive, but for what we got, the level of care and everything, I think it's worth the money."

"My sister is in Ashwood Retirement and Assisted Living. My sister is in their waiting list since 2009 and she is now living there for about a month and a half. We choose it because it is kept nice and they accept Medicaid. The first thing that I notice about it when I walk through the door is that it has no odor and it is very clean. I talk to the lady that she told me: "I always said that I'd never have one of the places that I run to have a smell. I can't stand that". She says: "We work at it around here". For instance, they pick-up the trash twice a day and I am impressed about that because they don't let it sit around and begin to smell. My sister says she loves living there. She has a darling room and we furnish it. It has a small refrigerator in her room. My sister loves the food and their dining room is not glamorous, but it is clean. I am impressed with the fact that they take care of her medicine and they seem to be organized with the handling of the medicine for the people. As far as I am concerned, their ethics are great. The lady that runs it mentions that they have to stay there overnight because somebody is ill and during ice storm they pitch in to each other. They can have their own doctor. I also really like, and it is helpful for me, that they have two doctors that come because l do not have to pick her up to see a doctor and take her back since it is a 25-minute one-way drive from my place to the facility. They have activities like bingo, dominoes and games. So far, it is positive experience. "

"My mother is in Brookdale. We chose it because of their services. The staff is polite and very nice. The rooms are very large and have a private exit to the courtyard. They go to the mall, they go to the theaters, and they go all over the place. We like the activities, and it is very clean. "

"My husband and I toured and were impressed by Brookdale Richland Hills (formerly Sterling House of Richland Hills). I almost preferred it because it's close to me, but they based their cost a la carte, so there's a charge for everything that you need assistance with. They had a separate memory care building. The staff was very friendly when we walked through. With the level of care that my dad needed, it was really cost prohibitive because he needs help with everything, but I would love for him to be there. "

"My mom moved to The Mustang Creek Estates of Flower Mound. I loved everything about it. I loved the way they had it set up for the tenant. I loved that the staff have been very helpful and inviting. I love the programs that they have set for the tenants. They've answered every question that we've needed answered, and they've helped us with every step that we've needed help with. So, I highly recommend them. When I went in yesterday, they had live music entertainment for the residents."

"I chose Lewisville Estate because it had the continuity of care that I need. I would be at their independent living facility, but if I need assisted living it would be just in the building. I only need to go to a different floor. They also have nursing care there. The good thing about this is that I would know the staff if I move around. They are also not as expensive as some of the others we've looked into. I will have two bedrooms, two bathroom apartment and I can stay there as long as I'm able to take care of myself. I have not eaten in their dining room, but everybody tells me that they have a varied menu. They have all kinds of activities. I think it would just be limited on what you want to get involved in. They have an exercise room and they have cards and they have a beauty salon. I only dealt with one staff member and she was very nice and she has followed up a couple of times with my daughter. From what I've seen it looks like a very nice facility and the residents seemed happy there. "
